Popi's Italian Restaurant
The food is always excellent as is the waitress/waiter service!!
Great time always
Excellent dining experience!! The staff was pleasant from the greeter to the server!! Dinner was awesome!
Terrific Italian food. We will definitely be back next time in Philly!
Food and service was excellent as usual! Been here many times and will continue to come back!
Popi's excellent place for get together, dinner or night out.
Food is good. Wine selection by the glass is ok
Poi's never disappoints. The Veal Chop was incredible...... how about the stuffed portabella mushroom
I always enjoy Popi's. I like the well made traditional American Italian food and a reasonable price. The servers are most excellent - very attentive but not overwhelming! I like that you can park. I like that there are families always in the restaurant celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.
Popi's never disappoints. Great food, location, service and a beautiful restaurant!
First time there went there on a recommendation enjoy myself will recommend to others
Great restaurant with excellent service, great food, and an enjoyable ambience. I will definitely go back when I am in Philadelphia!
Went for lunch with friends. Great food, friendly service.
Never disappointed at Popi's! t is one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. This last time, however, the table next to us was a bit too noisy and it was hard to have a conversation.
Great food, service, atmosphere good time
We love Popi's. It's delicious every time, and we enjoy the atmosphere of this South Philly neighborhood restaurant. The Sinatra-esque singer on Saturday nights definitely creates atmosphere.
Food was pretty bland not very much flavor. What really rubbed me the wrong way about this place was the fact that the waiter told us about specials that they had. So I order one of the specials (Filet with crab cake) food was ok but when my bill came I was completely shocked. 40$ for the Filet and then I was charged an additional 15$ for ONE crab cake. So needless to say they got me pretty good but I never make the same mistake twice.
Awesome dinner. Popi's never fails. Veal Chop was outstanding. Crab Cakes on point. Mussels were Delicious.
We were in the area & decided on stopping by to have an early dinner & it was awesome as usual. We had a special that day, sauteed Bronzini fish file & Linguine w/white clams. Both were delicious along with the Popi salad.
Lamb chops were overcooked and under seasoned. Pasta was not al dente as requested.
This is our second visit, and once again we sat at the bar to eat because the bartender was a sweetheart! Very attentive and a joy to converse with!
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Parking available. DJ. Overall nice ambiance. Meal and service were good. Family friendly.
I had scallops shrimp crab meat alfredo…..the alfredo sauce was butter sauce not alfredo at all....very bad and not hot at all...
2/15/2020- yes very busy at 630 but they were very dis organized in giving us a table...switched us 2 times...
Table jiggled and they could not fix it
Drink was made wrong...Maker's Mark and Ginger...how easy is that....
Very much over priced- $97 bucks for 2 drinks...1 coke...1 salad...1 soup...shrimp/scallops/crabmeat alfredo and ravioli and a crème buele...very over priced
No going to recommend this place ever...nor ever go back....

Have been here several times. They are consistently consistent. The food is well prepared, prices are not outrageous, service is lovely and...... there is a parking lot.
Try it and enjoy.
Great service and food. The gnocchis are homemade and may be the best I ever had. My with had Filet mignon. She said it was excellent. We dine out a lot and have eaten in the finest restaurants. Popi’s is reasonably priced and food is as good as any five star restaurant in town.
Perfect Valentine’s Day dinner date. We’ll defiantly be back!💙
Very efficient hostess and service. Excellent food and drink quality. Outstanding overall.
Poppis food and service has always been consistently very good.
I talked the place up to my son and his girlfriend and this was the first time that I was disappointed. The calamari appetizer was undercooked , chewy and unappetizing when it is normally is fabulous.
We ordered drinks and were told they were out of ginger beer. Same thing happened with dessert... I ordered tiramisu and the waiter came back to tell me it wasn’t available. ( both our first choice options that we switched to items we didn’t really enjoy ) .
I’ll be back because I’ve had a ton of great meals at Poppis and the staff is always wonderful but this visit was disappointing.
The two specials for the evening, the veal chop and filet were very good. Ray our waiter was very good, despite being very busy with multiple tables. You have to try the hot peppers side if you really like it HOT>
This was our first time at Popi's and we'd definitely go back. Service, food, drinks and the atmosphere were great. The Chicken Parm was great !
Music was TOO loud and waitress asked to turn it down but someone then turned it back up.. Could not speak between guests. Frank Sinatra is good music but not when you have SHOUT over Frank.
Excellent service, food was spectacular! Would return many times!
The service seemed a little slow that evening. I'm not blaming my server, but everything just seemed to take a long time. waiting for bread, waiting for beverage, waiting for food, etc. the hostess seemed like she had no clue what was going on, confused, walking back and forth checking on tables. We arrived on time for our reservation, but it still took nearly 15 minutes before we were actually seated. We were seated next to a window which could have been nice, but since it was January, and cold out, we were freezing. It felt like we were sitting next to an open door. Overall, the food was excellent, and I'm chalking it up to just a bad night for service.
Hi Sheila, I am so sorry to hear this as we take pride in our service as well as our food. Please call me directly when you decide to return so I can compensate for this experience! Thank you! Kind Regards, Kristen Edwards Director of Operations
We always enjoy dining at Popi's. The food is always served very hot and fresh. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating too.
Our group was very happy with everything. The only thing that bothered me was that I had to leave my credit card number to hold the table. If we weren't able to make it my credit card would have been charged $25.00 per person. Three of our group didn't come because of the rain. We are all elderly and weather is a factor. We all travelled a bit to get there. I was nervous that the rain would keep my friends from coming and I would get charged.
Hi Lynne, I am so happy to hear that everything went well!! Please know, the credit card hold policy is to ensure cancellations on holidays or parties that exceed 7 or more guests as we are always looking to be able to accomodate everyone. I hope you can understand. Thank you for dining with us and we hope to see you soon! Kind Regards, Kristen Edwards Director of Operations
Beautiful restaurant. Convenient location with ample parking. Nice menu, consistent food and service. Good value. Great bar and wine selection. Always a go to spot in Philly, especially before or after a special event, nearby sports and concert arenas.
We had drinks at the bar and great value and service. The specials were very inviting and 2 of us order specials. The service was exceptional. We were served apps and dinner spot on with the timing and the food was perfect temperature. Everyone enjoyed the food and desserts.
Good Afternoon, Your star rated review does not matach your experience you are sharing. Please let me know if there is anything we can do. Thank you! Kind Regards, Popi's Italian Restaurant Management Team
Popi's was terrific, I felt like I was in my house having dinner at my own kitchen table! We were meeting a friend and we were eating (delicious food), drinking and talking like we were the only people in the place. The service was great and we weren't pushed out! Thank you Popi's!!
Excellent neighborhood-feel italian restaurant for pre-game meal (ours was Flyers, but have visited many times before Eagles games). But it's not just a pre-game restaurant. Broad selection of specials, all well-prepared. Nothing overly fancy; just good food. My broiled branzino was terrific. Highly recommended.
This was our first time to Popi's. I always get a Caesar Salad and Veal Marsala when I go to a new restaurant. I believe it is a good representation of the quality. The Caesar dressing was delicious and so was the Marsala. Very attentive and accurate service. A great overall experience. Highly recommend going.
