The food was as outstanding as usual - caprese salad was incredibly fresh, and quality and seasonings for entrees were great.
David & Steven, as usual, made us feel incredibly welcome and special.

Sidelined by the virus scare we decided to meet for dinner. Two of us had never been to Porcini. She said it was the best bolognese sauce she had ever had. We love this restaurant.
This is a nice Italian BYOB restaurant tucked away on Sansom St. Very small and quaint, surprisingly not busy on a Thursday night. Appetizers are good, but small servings. We each had a different entree (Cannelloni agli Spinaci, Ravioli Osso Buco, Paradelle ali Fungi Selvatica and one of the specials) and all were great. Unfortunately my entree, the Spaghetti alla Carbonara was not. Boxed pasta in what appeared to be a butter/oil sauce...didn't seem to have the egg on it at all. One miss out of 5 is OK with me, I would go back and try again knowing other entrees were good.

Owner was rude. We were shoved into a corner and could not get out without other people moving completely out of the way, service was horrible.
We love Porcini!! Have eaten here several times bringing friends and family and it’s always a hit!! The food and service is top notch. Love the intimate atmosphere and that it’s a BYOB. David is always so cordial and attentive. We’ll be back!🥂💫🍷💫✨
Incredible authentic Italian food!!
My group of four had reservations for 6:30 on a Saturday night. We were seated at the only open table which was located next to the entrance of the kitchen. Space was so tight that every time someone went in or out of the kitchen they smacked into the back of my chair. It made for a miserable dining experience for me. Additionally, the diners of the adjacent table came in considerably later than us and their food was served well before ours.
Always amazing! Our favorite neighborhood spot! Always great to see David and others when we eat there!
We always enjoy dinner at our cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant. It is such a friendly atmosphere. The food is consistently good. I especially enjoyed the artichoke and eggplant appetizers. A bonus is that they have gluten free pasta if you need it (as did one in our party). Only disappointment was the selection of desserts. Nothing exciting so we went to the Pop Shop around the corner.
Food was great. Owner friendly and involved in day to day operations including seating patrons and opening difficult wine cork.

Fantastic food at this BYOB gem. On a weeknight, when the small room is not at peak capacity and loud, Porcini is a delight. Appetizers, including a specially-made pasta sampler, were delicious and my grouper fish special was terrific. Service was attentive, friendly and professional, prices are reasonable...this is one of the best restaurants in the City and its longevity bespeaks its success. Go once and you'll return many times.
Owner was arrogant. When we ask to move us the table next to window, because people left, he sad No. Then on the middle of our dinner he ask us to move that table. We felt like pushed around.
We went here before going to Helium. Small little bistro, and one table was too loud. Food was excellent, and staff could not be nicer. Chef came out to greet. Will go back
From Davids warm welcome into his tiny dining room to all of the delicious food, this has to be one of the best Philadelphia restaurants. The special artichokes with crispy breadcrumbs were outstanding. The homemade pasta is silky deliciousness. The veal was thin, tender, melt in your mouth. Service was well timed, friendly and helpful. Will be back again and again!
David is a great host

The food is pretty good! The sauce of the pasta is very well made... you can really taste the different flavors
The food was good, the service was not. After we walked out, one of our friends was still in the bathroom. He heard the servers going on about how terrible we were. I found this very unacceptable as I believe we were a pleasant group. Will not be going back

Food is fresh and delicious!
The appetizers were very good but the sauce on the spaghetti carbonara did not adhere to the pasta and had little flavor. Similarly, the sauce on the mushroom pappardelle was thin without much flavor, but the noodles were cooked to perfection. The spinach cannelloni was delicious.
Fun, energetic, delicious. Always a great evening.
Eating at Porcini was amazing. I went with my boyfriend on a date since it was restaurant week and every course made our mouths water. Even the bread and oil (with ricotta!) was exquisite. Workers were friendly, pleasant, and efficient. We will definitely be coming back!

Restaurant Week is my least favorite time at Phila restaurants. The experience is never as good as it is on a regular evening. Usually the service is rushed due to the limited choices. This was not the case at Porcini. They did 4 courses instead of 3 which was appreciated. We waited an extremely long time between the 2nd course and the entree I enjoyed the lull but some in our party were not as pleased. Other smaller tables who came in long after us were finished before we were. Food was good. Interesting choices and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I heard no complaints. The shrimp scampi appetizer was great. Others enjoyed the artichokes and the egg plant. The grouper was very good. Heard great things about the pork and the spinach/egg linguine. Desserts were a bit too heavy. Would have liked the Tara Missoue with something lighter
My favorite place in Philly. The Owners David and Steven make you feel like you are the most important people they serve. Food is amazing!
Had not been to Porcini for awhile and returned on Saturday evening with 2 out of town friends. Place was busy. Service was good, and food was better! We all ordered different dinners, and everyone was more than satisfied. Our friends loved the place and the fact that it was BYOB. Don't have that in Darien Conn.

Prices good, food fresh, fun atmosphere. Since it’s so small, you really should make a reservation.

Went with a group of friends for New Year's Eve dinner. They had an a la cart menu with some of their popular dishes. The food was delicious! Authentic Italian. We sat upstairs, which was nice and quiet. I also love that it is a BYO, so we brought our own wine. They kept our champagne chilled until we wanted it for dessert (also absolutely delicious). The only semi-negative thing I would note is the ambiance.. the restaurant seems just a little tired. But in my opinion, if the food is good and authentic I don't need to be in the most beautiful restaurant ever. Finally, our server was very nice and attentive while not rushing us, and the chef came up to wish us a Happy New Year and ask how the food was, which was nice. Oh, at least for NYE, it was cash only, which we knew before hand. There were 6 of us, we split 4 appetizers (including 2 burrata which could serve at least 3 people each), each of us got an entree and dessert and 3 americanos and it came to roughly $85 including tip, which I think is reasonable for the quality of food and for not feeling rushed on NYE.
We love Porcini! Very small, loud and fun! The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The roasted artichokes are fabulous - as is the Chicken Milanese. Don't forget dessert! This has been one of our Philly BYO favorites for over 20 years and it never fails!
Food was great, testaurant is very confortable. David, the owner is very friendly & Rachel, the waitress, is very attentive. They had a pasta special thatcwas phenomenol, paoaradelle w/asparagus & prosciutto in a blush sauce. And the carbonara is a big hit w/our crew!!

Quite possibly one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. From the service to the food. everything was top notch. Fresh and thoughtfully prepared food. Truly a dining experience.
