The food was really great, but unfortunately, the service wasn't awesome the night I was there. I went to PROOF to celebrate my birthday, and it was my first time eating at a restaurant and seeing my best friends since August. Despite marking in the reservation that it was my birthday, nobody at the restaurant wished me happy birthday or did anything special, not that I was expecting much. We were made to feel like an inconvenience, and felt as though we were being rushed out after our meal (actually, even before we were done our meal). When we got up to use the washroom, leaving our blankets, phones, and wallets at the table, we were yelled to from inside the restaurant by our server in front of the other guests, treated with suspicion and aggressively talked down to. It was a disappointing experience. As a server myself, I understand that bad days happen, but ultimately it made for an uncomfortable dining experience on what should have been a fun night to end a hard year.

Pre-Xmas meal with family before provincial lockdown. Even in all this pandemic chaos and uncertainty Proof was amazing! Service, ambiance, drinks and especially the food were all top notch! With the 10 person limited capacity and and time limit per party we still didn’t feel rushed or any less of an experience. Highly recommended and we will be back for sure when the lockdown is lifted. It’s in a really nice Delta hotel and has a great patio as well!

Excellent food and excellent service! I was outside on the patio in the winter. I was warm with the outdoor gas heaters.

We enjoyed a cosy, warm (with heaters) patio dinner, winter-licious with Christmas tree and sparkly lights. Dinner was delicious; server attentive. Other diners were spaced far apart and the atmosphere was friendly yet connected across the distance. Instead of cold water to drink (on a cold evening) we had hot water/lemon - to wrap our hands around for warmth, and enjoy with our wine, dinner, and hot cocktails. Well done Proof - for making pandemic winter dining in Canada - enjoyable and special.

To cold not sure why heaters not on before we arrived food was good except calamari was over cooked

The food was good but because of Covid, we had to finish our meal in 90 minutes so they could seat other guests. We felt rushed and didn’t have time to finish our wine.

We dined on the patio. There was traffic noise but “tent” provided good protection from noise and wind gusts. It was pretty warm after heaters were lit. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Food has really gone downhill and is priced way too high for the quality they are serving. Restaurant was freezing cold because of the air filters, they need to find a solution that allows you to use the air filters without needing to wear a winter coat while you eat.

The food was to die for. Everything was really great.

Food was good, though the Duck Risotto was a bit too cheesy. Additionally, service was a bit slower near the end - especially with many people already leaving due to the cold weather and us waiting on the bill. The heaters also stopped midway, so that should be monitored every so often.
Regardless, service was also very kind and the food was amazing.

Food and drinks were alright to great (hot patio goldschlagger drink is divine, and the churros!) but the service was SLOW af, they first seated us in the crappiest table (we asked to move), we were repeatedly warned about the cutoff time (from the moment we sat down which was 90 mins before time..), they got my drink wrong, implied that it was my fault, and then still charged for it... I mean, it'll be an ok spot for hot drinks during the winter, but not much else interests me there anymore. Would recommend to friends WITH the warnings only, if they're willing to endure crap service for pretty good hot drinks, that's up to them!

They're making a real effort to stay versatile during these crazy times. Impressed that the website is kept up-to-date with a special patio menu and booking through Open Table very convenient.

It was great to be able to find an outdoor beautiful place to have dinner with my family at this time of the year that feels, cozy, has ambiance, grat service and food and where you feel safe.

Food was delicious. Service was present, but that’s about it. Wine selection was decent. All the COVID protocols were great, minus the food runner without any eye protection. Nothing outstanding. Will definitely come back to try again.

Had a wonderful first time at Proof Kitchen. Our server was friendly and efficient, and made a great recommendation. Our server could have been a little more personable (i.e. asked us what we were doing afterwards or if we were celebrating anything). Will definitely be back!

The food was absolutely excellent and the service was great! Perfect for date night.

Although the atmosphere was great, I struggled to eat my fish and chips. Chips were decent, but fish was fishy, oily, and undesirable. (The coleslaw was excellent, by the way.)

From the moment we walked in the door the service was amazing, the atmosphere modern and inviting and then the food to match! Will definitely be back!

We went to proof as we heard it was great for outdoor dining. The drinks were great but we found out server terrible and anytime we asked questions, she noted she hadn't tried anything so had no feedback. The food was terrible, I got takeout and I was only 10 minutes away and everything was soggy. We will not be going back.

I did not think the food was worth the price. As well, the music that was played was not suitable background music.

Went for dinner on the patio this past Saturday. The patio is private and has several heaters. Staff were incredibly helpful and polite, food was delicious! Would highly recommend.

My wife and I have not been out with our two children for a dining experience all year. We thoroughly enjoyed the service as well as our meals. The calamari was cooked to perfection!! Our 2 year old son was eating it off of our plates.
