Going to the Publick House is always a wonderful experience, in every way, every time.

Always a wonderful dining experience and this year, even with the COVID restrictions, it was no different. They clearly took the COVID restrictions seriously and myself and my family felt completely comfortable during our entire dining experience. The food and drinks were delicious and as good as we remember. This was our 16th year celebrating New Year's Eve at the Publick House. It is their consistancy, great servers and exception food that keeps us coming back.

The menu was not what it used to be-much more limiting now. Having the meal in the banquet hall was nice but perhaps the kitchen is pretty far since our food was warm at best. The waitress was nice but the service was especially slow. She shared that there are so few staff left that is it hard to serve even the few patrons that do come for dinner. Overall the experience was not what we had been used to at the Public House.

We brought teenage children. We had two diagonal tables, five kids at one table my son and wife and us at another table. We all had a great time.

Had a lovely lunch! Server was awesome and the place was meticulously clean.

Our server was Don, good sense of humor. Fun place to go after a day at OSV. I had about the best Yankee Pot Roast ever! Huge portions but so delicious. My wife had the Turkey Dinner, very exciting, moist and yummy. Time and time again, always very good.

Old New England elegance, and a classy Christmas atmosphere along with excellent food, and service make the Publick House a solid choice for holiday dining.

The food was excellent! The atmosphere was beautiful and so festive. Our server was nice, but very slow and we were constantly out of water and drinks. It was not busy when we were there dining.

This is the first time in close to thirty years I would rate this meal as not great. The waitress started off pretty good but after she served the meal we never saw her again and the roll my sandwich was on was stale so much so I took the top off and ate it with a fork. My husband had the fish and chips which he gets most of the time we go and it was greasy and soggy.

It is such a beautiful place...and the food was so good!

My friend and I have lunch every year on Christmas Eve eve. I honestly thought we would not be able to this year but took a chance and went online and for the first time made reservations that way. What a wonderful experience! We needed to change our reservation by half an hour and it was very easy to do that. We were greeted warmly. The waitress was attentive but not overbearing. The food and ambience could not have been better. It gave us an opportunity to take time away from a very busy year, one that was hard for all of us. We have been to a few restaurants over the last several weeks and have been very disappointed. Understandably this time has been very hard on them to try to maintain staff and excellence. Publick House has been able to do both. Thank you so much for that gift.

This was a wonderful experience for us. It was our 51st anniversary. The food was wonderful in fact my raspberry salad was the best salad I ever had! The pork chops were outstanding as well ( my son said) my husband had the pasta dinner and he remarked it was unbelievable. Great job Public House~ We will be back again!!

The Public House gave a quiet space for our family of 8 to meet before we went to Candlelight at Sturbridge Village. We had the 3 course meals and the service was great.

Service was awful, I needed extra dressing for my salad... kept trying to get her attention...Nothing, finally after 30 min., I asked someone else. Wldnt you know as soon as I got the dressing so I could eat my salad, my meal arrived. It wasn’t hot. The pork chops were delicious but cold. Potatoes were cold & a bit under cooked. I had much higher expectations.

In such a magical, colonial Christmas atmosphere we felt very comfortable with great distance between tables and high ceilings. The food was great, especially the best clam chowder I have ever had. Our server was wonderful and made us aware of coupons- look for them! It was a lovely lunch and a break from 2020 stressors.

Publick House has become a favorite place for my husband and I to dine and are grateful that during these scary times, we are able to enjoy the normalcy of a wonderful warm, cozy meal in such a beautiful, rustic colonial setting.

This is a lovely place to visit while in the area or as a local. Great old inn feeling with superior service and great food. One of the best in the area.

menu a little limited because of low attendance, but a good variety. The server was very attentive.

We stopped in and had a fantastic meal. April, our server was very accommodating and helpful as she explained the menu items. Her recommendations were delicious. The warm Parmesan cheese potato chips and the sea scallops were incredible as were the pot roast and NY sirloin steak. We left with lots of bags because we couldn’t finish there was so much food.

We had excellent food on the patio, and were toasty warm next to a propane heater. The food was excellent and fresh. The portions were big. My husband’s open-faced turkey sandwich with cornbread stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce was really good, with hand-carved turkey. My Cesar salad with shrimp was very good as well. Loved the complimentary pecan sticky buns. Beautiful Inn.

Waitress is awesome. Drinks are amaozng - so are the chips. Food was better pre-covid but I understand the struggle they are going through.

Great food. A different experience during the pandemic but our food was just excellent and our waitress warm, kind, and attentive. We will be back!

I LOVED the vegan option!!! Best dish I have had in a long time! Why is it not on the menu? I would not have known it was available if I weren’t used to asking for my needs!

Very expensive, one meal arrived cold, pesto meal was blah, service at arrival was very slow, had to change tables because the floor vibrated, limited menu. Overall very disappointed. Will not go back, or recommend.

It was a great date night. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. The venue always looks spectacular. The food was terrific! Cannot wait to come back here again!
