Punch Bowl Social Schaumburg
Great date place. Good food and drinks. Table games are fun for dates.
We were a group of 6 who went for dinner and games. It's very confusing that you cannot reserve or put your name in for an activity. The hosts didn't quite explain this process at all, and it took many times to get our questions answered. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive but were very good. The menu has a great variety but execution is poor. The appetizers were very good, but the queso dip was served with about 15 chips, and the plate looked empty, which was surprising because the waitress even commented on it. Why didn't she do that when she picked it up at the kitchen window? All food was auctioned off, and one of the meals didn't arrive. When the manager brought the food, that meal was cold and not the correct way it was ordered (no bread). The chili was good albeit seemed pre-prepared, but was very tasty. I would say the best food on the menu were the Chorizo fries, except it was not chorizo, instead a very dry and under-seasoned type of sausage.
On to the Karaoke lounge, this was very cool. We were in the Domo Arigato room, which was under-decorated and under-ventilated. The Karaoke was super cool to do and very easy to use. Our host sang us her favorite song when we got in!
There were private parties upstairs and downstairs. We couldn’t play any games. What’s the point?? Also every game is so expensive to play. The food is way too eclectic. I will never go back.
The food was decent, and the service from our server was good. However, we made reservations via opentable to come here a month ago, and were excited to play the games. However, we were not allowed to go upstairs or downstairs to either of the game areas since the upstairs and the dows stairs were booked out to two different parties. This was so disappointing on our Anniversary. It put my wife in a very bad mood the rest of the night. They really should notify people when the walk in the door if the game areas are off limits. I don't think many people are going here for the food, its for the food + Games. I would try again, but I would definitely call in advance and make certain no areas are reserved.
I would reccomend for groups and only if the activity areas are available. Unfortunately, the activity area was not available during the time of my visit. The menu is also not widely appealing.
First visit. Disappointing that the full upstairs (where a lot of games are housed) was reserved for a private party. Would have been nice to see that message when you open their Schaumburg location webpage. Food items were limited but everybody in our group of 6 liked what they had (fries were not hot though).
Great food ! Super busy and the food came out fast !
Our waitress was great and the food was great. We went to celebrate my dads birthday and even made a reservation. After dinner we couldn’t play any games because they had 2 events going on. I wish they would have told us because we would not have gone there if that was the case. This was our first time at the establishment and was not a good first impression. If your customers make reservations, let them know they can only come for dinner if the rest of the establishment is closed to the public.
Most of the space had private events going on and it was a Saturday night. So you couldn't take advantage of all of their so called activities. There are hardly any video games, maybe 7? And they aren't great quality games. Arcade looks like someone's basement. Bowling was ok as long as it is available. Only one 1 was available when we were there. Not really worth the trip
PBSS is a great place with even better food and cocktails. The menu is full of flavorful options delivered in satisfying proportions. However, this place could use some music during brunch hours. Sure, it was a perfect noise level for an intimidate conversation with my best friend. But, some groove shaking tunes would have taken the overall experience to another level. I also love the message in the outside door about “the loving and affirming place for ALL lives,” great touch.
We took our daughter there for her 29th birthday and we're looking forward to having some shakes but the shake machine was broken and it wasn't going to be working for 2 hours. Disappointment for 3 kids that wanted shakes. Probably won't return.
Absolutely phenomenal! We will definitely be coming back! Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere!!!
The food is really good. Bar lounge type of food. Lots of games and activities for an additional charge. Good for a younger crowd. 21+ after 10pm.
Great food and menu. Worth swinging by! Awesome atmosphere!
Had a blast in the karaoke room the waitress was very nice
Good variety of food & drink options. Good entertainment options.
The bar service was excellent and the things to do were great. Once we sat down for dinner, the service was just okay. Food was good.
A fun place to hang out with friends and play some games. The food and drink are generally well designed but have some inconsistent execution so don’t expect perfection and you’ll have fun.
Liked eating outside and the strawberry daquiri was delicious. All the games and activities are super fun!
Lot of fun things to do and many of them are free and they have good food there also.
I’ve been there on a Saturday night or Sunday night and the Tuesday night and it’s never really crowded
We went to brunch for my friend's birthday. Our food was pretty good, drinks were decent but took forever to get. It wasn't busy at all, so I wonder if our server just didn't put them in right away. Our service overall was HORRENDOUS. Angela was her name and she said a total of 6 words to us. Never smiled and didn't bring water when asked. We would have stayed for more drinks, but she wouldn't check on us. We ended up going to the bar ourselves after we paid. She didn't ask how we wanted the checks split, just dropped them and took off. She didn't thank us for coming in, never acknowledged that we had a birthday at our table, nothing. We won't be back because of her. She should be in the back washing dishes with her poor "serving" skills.
I came here with friends for my birthday. The food was good. The ambiance was a disappointment. The games were upstairs and it was freezing up there. We couldn’t stand it. Then we went down to the basement to do karaoke The room was so small! It was a joke. Overall a disappointed. We left to go to another bar.
Celebrating family birthday
The top floor was FREEZING - too bad too because it was really a cool environment but so cold we couldn't stay up there to do anything since we hadn't brought heavy coats. Overall the place is very fun - awesome concept
With the exception of the woman tending the game cage, every employee we encountered acted indifferent, did not make eye contact, and generally made us feel as if we were inconveniencing them. I worked to be extra enthusiastic with our server and was rewarded with some warmth, so that's good.
There were folded bar mats unevenly piled up on one end of the shuffleboard table. Standing on them to play from that end of the table was awkward. When we asked if they could be moved elsewhere, there was no apology and the mats just got piled up at the end of the bar in a place that would be in another person's way if the bar had been more crowded.
We played shuffleboard and found that the table needed a little more silicon sand on one end, but I didn't ask for help, because I was afraid I'd get treated like an inconvenience again.
The food was quite good, but not good enough to overcome the general vibe of the staff.
Came here with a group of coworkers for our last night in town. The service was superb and food was delicious. They didn’t even bat an eye at our troublemaking antics.
Went on Mother’s Day (after the brunch). The server acted like she didn’t want to be there. Barely a greeting at the table. I honestly felt bad for my mom because we we excited to bring her here for the first time. Probably will wait awhile before I come back.
We have been a few times. They have some unique and very tasty items. Last time food was great and service was terrible. This time the service was great, but the food wasn't good. Pork Belly Tacos were average at best. Monkey bread french toast was solid. We were in for Mother's Day. Kids buffet was $10 and sounded good, bit everything has been out way too long. They did make fresh items and replace them as we asked but just annoyed that we had to ask. Given the track record here this is likely out last visit.
Had a great time, food was unusual and tasty. Plenty of activities for my kids.
Great Brunch menu. Will definitely come back!
It was a great experience overall...food was good...the drinks were great! Will be back
I was extremely excited to get there and order the cauliflower nachos only to find that they had been completely changed two weeks ago apparently and definitely for the worst. That aside, this place is just slightly off. It has good potential but it seems a little confused on the route it’s trying to go. Food is alright but overpriced, drinks are decent, and our server was not so good... she would disappear for long stretches of time (it was not busy at all) and we’d find he standing in a back corn chatting with friends. I work In the restaurant industry, I never tip poorly...tonight I unfortunately had to. She had nowhere near earned it. There’s busy, typically great servers who fall behind and there are servers who just shouldn’t serve... Going to leave her unnamed, but she was less than attentive, short, and would walk away before we were even done speaking to her. Pretty bummed about that. Definitely put us in a weird vibe for the rest of the evening.
1) WAY too many sheets of paper are given to you as a diner. You literally get a clipboard of 3-4 sheets of info each if it’s happy hour. Menu, happy hour, booze, non booze. Find a way to combine this all!!! Felt like I was signing legal documents
2) Your food is way too overpriced... the sheet of nachos was lacking in toppings, flavor, and cheese... and $5 to add maybe a 1/4 cup of chicken? You can do better.
3) chicken fried chicken saved the day. Was absolutely delicious. Very heavy but delicious. Maybe pair with a light arugula salad or something to take a break from the heaviness?
I always want to like this place, but have left feeling unsatisfied every time I’ve come. The nachos were a saving grace but they’re gone and I’m really not sure I’ll ever come back.
great drinks and amazing food!
Great and unuque
Love the atmosphere here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Can wander from floor to floor for games. Favorite for birthdays and parties.
Bring back the Impossible Burger! I have gone here for several MeetUps, specifically because of this menu offering. Will need to change venues now.
Service at PunchBowl has always been terrible. Usually you can count on the food to be good enough to make it worth slow and unprofessional service. This time the food was horrible too. Won’t be back.
It was okay. Food was separated from games. Had to eat and close food tab before we could open a bar tab and play games. Made the night very long and slow.
Amazing as always! Food is fantastic!!
Spring break fun
