Beautiful decor and excellent service
Food was not fresh and this has caused a very bad stomach issues for the next couple of days for me and my girlfriend
I wouldn’t recommend this place for food. Definitely not worth the price you are paying for. We’ve booked dinner for a special occasion, ordered different meals such as the 2 risottos (pumpkin and truffle) the bavette steak and the burrata and all of us left very disappointed.
The risottos were exactly the same, just plain white base rice, one with some truffle on top and the other with some pumpkin on top for decoration. Very disappointing couple of plates for £23/25 as you could barely taste any of the ingredients. The bavette steak from the set menu was very average and the rose sparkling wine included in the set menu wasn’t good. So if you get the set menu for £40 you will have to spend another £10 min for a decent wine glass.
I have to mention though that the atmosphere of the place is very nice. Maybe visit again for a cocktail only
I was expecting the October festival menu to be available and this is not clear on website that it is only available at certain times of the week. Also, was overcharged on the kids menu. Service was mediocre for price paid. Much better value at some Michelin star establishments. Quite disappointed to be honest despite the lovely setting.
It was amazing. The customer services was great and the views are amazing
The ambience was great, also beautiful location. The food nicely served, fresh and tasty. We went for the set menu and surprisingly the quality, compared to the price, was excellent. Shame, the service was extremely inefficient. We were left waiting for ordering our drinks more than 20 minutes. The staff seemed to be on another planet. The welcoming hostesses appeared more like bored nurses waiting to take our temperature. The sommelier looked like the ‘joie de vivre’ had abandoned him even before he was born. I would go back for the food and the location, but definetely not for the staff. Pity.
A lovely evening with exceptional service. 14 Hills catered to my allergies were friendly, helpful and observant being very clear on what I could and could not eat. The venue was beautiful with a vue of the Shard from our table near the window.
14 Hills is a gorgeous restaurant and a very convenient location for me as I get the C2C. We did the Back to Work menu which was of outstanding price - every course was fantastic & succulent. The only reason I marked Value as being good because I don’t think I’d return for the full price menu... it is too overpriced for me. Definitely grab the Back to Work menu while you can though, actually amazing.
14 Hills is the perfect example of how mediocre service and a bad attitude can ruin the entire restaurants experience.
I booked 14 Hills with high hopes based upon photos, ambiance description and recommendations from several “Best Brunch” columns only to be greatly let down.
My reservation was for 5 on Sunday for brunch, in celebration of a special occasion. From start to finish the entire experience was off, less than average service for a restaurant at this level.
As soon as we were seated, we were met with an unwelcoming, cold and negative- too good for you attitude from our waiter. He was very unwilling to explain the menu or provide suggestions as to possible substitutions as we do not eat pork. When asked if it’s possible for bacon to be removed from one of the menu selections, he displayed an attitude, became very resistant to help with suggestions to accommodate our dietary preferences. His abrasive, cold attitude made our strict 2 hr time slot on the table to be quite tense and really unenjoyable.
As our time at the restaurant progressed our waiters level of care and attentiveness declined, when we kindly brought this issue to a managers attention it was then that we understood why most of the staff we encountered had a nonchalant, cold attitude as she displayed the exact same carelessness.
It’s a shame really, this restaurant has so much potential to be great yet at the hands of the staff it’s really falling short!
I would recommend 14 Hills on a normal day but during COVID-19 I won’t bother due to lack of service. This was a dinner for my cousins birthday, we booked for 4 people at 8pm. Immediately we were rushed to order with a limited menu as they had ran out of a few items. We had to request to order drinks from 4 different waiters. We had to get the manager involved who was apologetic and did not charge us for the drinks. My cousins visited 14 Hills prior to this dinner and was served bigger portions with the sea bass, seems like the divided the sea bass this tome round. I will try 14 Hills again next year.
The service was great, staff very personable and attentive.
Food was outstanding, thoroughly enjoyed it!
Our server Sara was fantastic. Very helpful and great at communicating
Excellent service and Covid secure. We enjoy the brunch options and opted for 3 courses. All the food was tasty and well presented.
Fantastic food and great service, thank you!
It was an amazing evening, the staff were very friendly and the venue was incredible. Unfortunately, the food was not that great, it was very bland. The plaice was served on bone and tasteless, and the steak was very average.
It’s so lovely here, the staff were so great and attentive! I had a wonderful evening, it’s very safe for COVID too, there are plastic shields between each table and hand sanitizer stations. The views are insane as well especially when it’s still light out. I would definitely come back here!
A lovely venue, with great choice of food, great service and cool decor.
Me and my girlfriend loved this place! Lovely food and cocktails! Will definitely be returning
The staff were really welcoming, kind and friendly.
The food was lovely especially the custard tart desert.
Food was delicious, although we were seated in a section of the restaurant with no other tables and it felt like our server neglected us. For the price I expect better service but the food was great nonetheless.
Great location, food and service
Ambience and location is amazing. Great place for drinks, but food was disappointing, had to send a meal back unfortunately.
The staff were positively welcoming.
The three course meal was very much worth it.
They had a little surprise for our special occasion and it was rather a very nice gesture.
We’ll definitely come back.
Great setting, great value and a helpful and well informed sommelier. Thus was my second visit and a good place for lunch in the city.
Fabulous!! Scenary, staff, food, cocktails, price! Very pretty decor. Cant wait for our next visit 😍
Enjoyable first dinner visit to 14 Hills which combines bar and dining experience very nicely. Look forward to going back!
Lovely interior! Definitely one of those instagrammable places. However food was bad!! I got the fish and i have not idea why they would even sell that type of fish. It had bones, it’s mushy and hard to eat with barely any meat. I’ll be back for drinks but definitely not food.
Restaurant is stunning and has a great ambience, perfect for date night or special occasions.
Food was average, good but nothing special.
Very nice place shame the garden is close. The food was very good.
Tasty food, really good service. Highly recommend.
Great manager, beautiful place inside with gorgeous views
Food can be improved.we ordered few dishes with truffle , Unfortunately both of them were served to us without truffle on it.
The service was good.
Food was incredible, staff were so friendly.
The set menu is a fantastic deal, I've already made plans to come back again!
Very nice setting and decor but would recommend for drinks only, not food. We had the set menu for £35 with rose, so maybe the normal menu is better. The food was not good (eg the deserts so strange and inedible - aniseed in the apricot tart with thyme etc, and a strange Parma violet Eton mess which was basically just an angel delight with two small bits of mirangue - such odd combos). I’m afraid I was pretty disappointed, but it’s a nice bar so would consider going back for a cocktail.
It was lovely
Family lunch with 3 children, very good service and lovely surroundings. Quite expensive but good quality food.
Dined here as part of a 3 day trip to London with my daughter and partner. I couldn’t help but feel disappointed after looking at the restaurant website. I felt the whole experience was hugely over priced for what we got. My partners steak was over-cooked and while we waited for another one we were offered a bread roll....between 3 of us.!! We’d been waiting an hour already and finished our first bottle of wine. The offer of another bottle would have been much more appropriate than a bread roll. 3 mains, 2 sweets and drinks just short of £300!! Oh...and no broccoli available as a side dish.....is there a shortage?! Not impressed with this restaurant which markets itself as something way better than it is. I don’t mind the cost when paying for something special but this just wasn’t.
Service was imprecable, perfect mix of friendly and professional.
C-19 restrictions were sensible
Food was somewhere between okay and good. Which is fine, but fell below expectations.
Overall the night was memorable and I would reccomend it.
On the food - although im no food critic - I had the pork belly, which was slow cooked (I was told by the helpful staff) and perhaps it just wasn't to my taste, but I think ive had much better. The Fish, my partner had, was excellently cooked - although I wasnt partial to the dollop of sweetcorn garnish it was served on..
Truly a wonderful evening, staff so accommodating and polite, reasonable pricing for such a beautiful restaurant and outstanding food. Did everything they could to make the evening special for my friend’s birthday. Will definitely be visiting again!
My wife and I went for lunch on a Monday afternoon. You arrive at the venue and greeted by person outside of the venue, once your reservation is confirmed, you are ask to take the elevator to the restaurant. Once at the restaurant we were placed a table of our choosing. The views of London are really beautiful. We over looked the tower bridge. We went for the Eat out to help out, three courses with red wine - which was 30 per head. The food was lovely, good portions and taste. See photos. The service was good too. I would recommend this restaurant as the quality of the food and value for money.
