Got told to wait outside to be seated which was understandable but there were 6 staff members on and we were waiting for 15 minutes to be seated - even went past the time we booked a table for. Toilet doors were propped open where we were told to wait and it’s not very pleasant seeing men using the bathroom (or smelling it) while you’re waiting for a table to get dinner.

Waited at the door for a while to be seated. Staff didn’t seem to be busy but still didn’t seat us. Food was really good but took about an hour when it was empty in there. Took about 50 minutes to even get our first drink. I wouldn’t usually mind but when you only have 3 hours max, an hour waiting for a drink is poor.

Drinks took too long to come, I ordered a drink and it took 1 hour to comes

We waited quite a while for our drinks and the glasses were dirty with lipstick stains.
One of my friends food didn’t come for 2 hours and then we had to get a refund in the end.
The toilet ran out of toilet roll on several occasions.
The drinks were good and well priced but often took a while to come out.

Waited for my drink which I ordered on the app for an hour, despite chasing it up numerous times. However the prices are reasonable and food was good.

I have always enjoyed 256 and plan to give it one more chance. Zero cocktails on the menu, seem to of ran out of of majority of the menu by 7pm - no brandy, no jäger, no cheeky vimto, no sourz shots, and half the bombs had ran out. I think this is poor on a Saturday when it’s obvious it will be busy. It seems a drink is always missed off your order also, in which is hassle to get this rectified as the bar staff don’t seem interested in anything but finishing their shift.

‘Bottle of wine’ came in a jug with plastic wine glasses, but good value food and loud music which isn’t easy to find in COVID. Bouncer had to tell people to not gather etc. Which got a big aggy but overall was nice - wish we were in the beer garden as that is super nice

Ridiculously slow service been twice recently and it’s taken over 40 mins waiting for drinks, poor

Sarah, the lady who was front of house, was rude beyond words. Her attitude and customer service skills were appalling and ruined our experience, resulting in us leaving after one drink. The drinks were flat, however the food was nice. Only downside to the food was the menu had very little available. Overall, won’t be returning on the sole basis of Sarah being so rude.

no food on as the oven was broken, our housemates who tried to get in about 20 mins after us were refused as the gas had gone off

Most of the menu is gone, especially the hot drinks and the food. The staff left me waiting in front of the door for 10 minutes nefore someone came to seat me

Was sat down with food menus, told to order via the app, only for the app to not show any available food. When we enquired at the bar, they said it was because they were out of the product. We tried to explain it was all of the food products. Eventually we found out they had decided to stop serving food.

Was a brilliant night. Nice music not too loud either. Just the right noise level. Lovely food and with being veggie a good selection of options.

Spot on, cheap and cheerful but still nice food. Only possible improvement would be a flycatcher or something outside to get the numerous wasps around but I get its the time of year!

Awful experience waited over an hour for our drinks and food

staff were quite rude and unhelpful, had to wait 35 minuets for two drinks

I booked for food but upon arrival I was told they closed the kitchen

The best part of 256 is the price of the drinks really cheap £4 cocktails which is a bargain other than that it’s terrible the food was horrible and cold and it was really boring in there you could hardly hear the music which wasn’t so bad considering it was rubbish the staff service was fine you waited awhile for drinks but considering how things are since covid and having to stay seated and your drinks brought to you I can’t complain am sure they was rushed of there feet.

Awful food service, wrong meals being brought to the table, meals missing items and overall bad food. Waited over 20 minutes for one drink that we never ended up receiving. Just a really poor service.

We went in for a couple of drinks and after ordering on the app we didn't receive our drinks for 45 minutes. We would have bought several more drinks in there had we been served quicker. This was unacceptable.

I’ve always enjoyed going to 256 as it has a great atmosphere and staff are friendly and drinks are affordable for students.

This was a joke I booked two tables got there didn’t even have one table no one stated we had to use cards only and half off my group only had cash they sat us outside with one table when I asked for two inside tables we didn’t get a drink we left within 5 minutes

Good night until manager kicked me and my friends out for something that we weren't doing and when asked to show us proof they didn't want to show it.

Good luck buying anything using the Butlr app, our drinks took 20 minutes to come, and the food came separately. 3 slices of garlic bread came after an hour and mozzarella sticks came after 1 hour and 20 minutes, even though this was all the same order? The waiter was apologetic and gave us an extra side though, and the food quality was good.

I came to watch a football match, I asked the waitress when I arrived if they would play it and she said they would be. Come to kickoff they still haven’t put it on and I had to go ask for it to be put on. They played the match but left the audio off and had music playing instead, when I asked about football audio to a waiter he replied he wasn’t allowed to change it. I suspect this was a straight up lie/excuse for not wanting to change it and hope whoever reads this would be able to confirm this.

Overall, the food and drinks are really good here if you can tolerate the service. I myself will probably find somewhere else to come next time
