44 Hill Street
Lovely staff !
Great value for lunch especially 4/7/4.
Good wine selection too !
Very much enjoyed our experience 🤗
We had a table booked for sunday evening at 6pm, when seated we werent given menus or advised that they were in the box in front of you, it was almost 30minutes later after we sat down before someone came to take a drinks order by this stage we had worked our ourselves where rhe menu was. We also weren't advised until we went to order our food that there were no roast dinners left. The food wasn't great at all, although the roasts at other tables had did look fantastic. Overall slightly disappointed it wasnt a cheap meal and the quality wasn't what we normally get in Belfast.
When we walked in we were very impressed with how it looked but there was no atmosphere. For starters we ordered mussels the mussels came in a bowl and were cold. We had mentioned to the waiter that the food was cold also the restaurant asked to get the heating turned up which he didn’t understand what we were saying. The mail course arrived roast chicken... chicken was dry, potatoes were dry and yet again cold. A table arrived 5 girls looking forward to a Sunday roast. The waiter sat them down and they had said it was cold the girls put their coats on after placing their order they decided to leave as it was to cold. The girls mentioned to the waiter but they didn’t do anything about it and lost a sitting... Over all very poor and disappointed
Booked for a birthday dinner on Sunday evening. The website promised much but....
Waiter on arrival pointed to the table and left us to seat ourselves, find the menu (stuck in with the knives and forks). No explanation of the fish of the day etc. As the evening wore on we now understand that the waiters understanding of english may not be the best!
We chose 3 Tapas to share as starters. Barely ok. Deep fried mozarella ok, squid ok but the Aranchini was tasteless. Must say that our bottle of Ciranza was good and reasonably priced!
For mains I had the Venison steak which in itself was superb however it was not served with potato's other than chips or sweet potato; no dauphinoise or any other proper potato. Disappointing. My wife had the lamb tagine - very dry, no sauce at all, cous cous had some flavour but again flattered to deceive
Overall not impressed. Great website, great marketing, poor delivery.
We booked this at the last minute and so pleased we did. Lovely restaurant great food Table service was slightly slow but it was busy to be fair. We would definitely go back again and would be happy to recommend it to others
I can't comment on the food as none arrived 55 minutes after ordering. We couldn't wait any longer as we had a booking in The Mac. Staff did not seem to know what was going on e.g. our waitress was surprised that no starters had come out despite the fact she was working at our table. Would not recommend and would not try again.
very nice, food good , good value would go again .
Tapas were tasty but not warm enough at all. Burger was good and while eating the soup I was chewing on a bit of plastic wrapping. I was offered a new bowl but it took so long to come that my partner had finished his meal and we had to leave to be ontime for a show. Staff were friendly and it had a nice atmosphere but we won't be back which is a pity considering it is in such a prime location and handy to other bars/theatres.
Amazing food & ambience, staff wete excellent, will definitely be back without a doubt, hidden treasure..
We ate from the Belfast Restaurant Week menu. Good value and good quality. Was surprised that more people were not taking advantage of this offer. Will definitely try this restaurant again
Great food, lovely drinks. Service was pretty quick, just a 5-10 minute wait at the door even though we’d booked. Lovely night.
Food and ambiance were good, however we had to wait half an hour for a table we had booked in advance. I also approached the bar to order a drink while we were waiting but was told I wasn’t allowed to do so. I had to wait another 5/10 minutes for a waiter to come over and take my order. (He was very attentive). I understand it was Valentine’s Day and it was busy, we really enjoyed our meal but the wait meant we didn’t have time for dessert.
We thought the food and drinks were excellent however we were disappointed with the service. The restaurant was very busy and it seemed there weren't enough staff to cater for all of the tables. We were waiting for 5-10 minutes each time we wanted to order drinks.
The food however was really tasty and the staff that were there were all very friendly. I think I would have to think about returning as the service did disappoint me.
We had a lovely meal and the waiter was very friendly. The background music playing was fantastic all retro stuff from the 70s and 80s . The only complaint I would have is that it was quite cold in the place otherwise a nice night. We would definitely return again.
Just love this place... food always good, goats cheese fritters with lavender honey are gorgeous! Service is always good and very friendly... a great wee gem of a restaurant whatever the occasion!
Unfortunately wasn’t a great experience, my food wasn’t warm and had
Second time at 44 Hill street. Good selection of tapas and sharing boards. Good service. Great atmosphere.
Our 4th time eating here and it has become our favourite place to eat in Belfast. Great service overall. From when you walk through the door where you are greeted straight away and shown to your table. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. Fantastic choice of wine with the Lebanese a firm favourite!!
Menu is excellent and the food really is delicious.
We will be back again!!!
Great food and service. Great value for money. Will definitely go back.
The food was really lovely and a great selection on offer. We ordered 3 tapas and a large sharing board. The only complaint is that the tapas portions are very small. I understand tapas generally is quite small however 2 prawn skewers isn’t great. Despite this everything was really lovely and I would go back.
We dine out two to three nights a week and I rarely post a bad review but the service was sub standard, from the minute we walked through the door, the food was distinctly average ( apart from the vegan burger which raises it to a 2 star review rather than a 1 star ) . It's also overpriced .. fish if the day was seabream at £19 which would be fine if the food was up to standard but its definitely not and 1 hour between starter and main course . we seen several unhappy customers complaining, tension between staff and a row between front of house and kitchen. Not a good experience at all. If you fancy a good vegan burger then it's fine but we wouldn't eat there again
Food was ok. Venison steak was overdone. Lamb wasn't tender in the lamb tagine. Service was actually awful, no one asked how the food was. Starter board was sitting there for at least 30 minutes before it was taken away. Mains took a very long time, with no apology. No one came to clear our mains. We actually really wanted dessert, but they took so long to come to us, we just paid and left, no one really realised either. The place wasn't even that busy. Very disappointing.
Not good value for money. Food not enjoyable. Spoke to manager won’t be back
Excellent choice of dishes on the menu. Food was delicious and service was great
This was our 2nd visit unfortunately the wait for service was unacceptable (it was not full) the food came out at the same time which meant when we sent our main courses back they arrived over cooked as they had been sat under the grill. Once the fresh food arrived we were very happy with the food. The 90 minutes allocated turned into a 130 minute visit. That being said the first visit was outstanding hence why we returned.
We went here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday as we had dinner there the year before and loved it. The service and atmosphere were great. The starters were good, the desserts were very delicious, however the ribeye steaks we ordered as our mains were quite underwhelming - especially at that price.
Fabulous as always
Such lovely staff and tasty food! Came for my birthday and loved it.
We had the tapas and prawn bruschetta. The tapas were fine but the bruschetta was tasteless and the bread very soggy. When I told the manager he said other people liked it. That was that. I was disappointed with the food Snd the response.
Excellent food , great service really good value for money
Will be back !!
Excellent food. Very good wine list and very friendly staff. Will be back.
Great to see a menu with more than one choice for vegans/vegetarians
Best restaurant in N.I !!! Great food -staff -ambience
Booked online last minute was greeted by friendly staff , plently of choice on the meu with delicious food .
I look forward to my next visit to belfast as I will be returning again .
The restaurant was recommended to us to try while in Belfast however it didn’t live up to the expectations. The restaurant had too many people and a serious lack of staff that didn’t know how to handle the pressure. Waited for an age to get served and had to ask repeated times could we order a drink. Service was very slow and the food was average. The food and restaurant served a purpose for the evening but unfortunately wouldn’t be rushing back anytime soon.
Unfortunately our meal wasn’t a great experience. There were far too many people in the restaurant and the kitchen couldn’t handle the orders. Our food was very poor quality, even the roast vegetables consisted of a few sad looking burnt onions and one little burnt carrot! Our steaks were burnt, the fish was tasteless and the tapas wasn’t nice either. Would never return! Total waste of money and very disappointing.
Very friendly efficient staff and extremely helpful, will definitely recommend and will be back.
Pre theatre meal on a Saturday evening and just in time to enjoy the steak, fries and salad deal. Steak was small but tasty. Both were ordered as medium but one came out rare which they sorted quickly. Crème brûlée was delicious but sticky toffee pudding was thin and a bit stodgy. Would definitely go back but order off the main menu - platters looked good.
Service very slow. Staff trying their best but wasn’t enough of them. First course out before drinks came. Long wait for that.
Food was mostly nice but I've had much better tapas, squid didn't seem too fresh. 5 tapas for £16 between 2 people seemed good value but they were very small and needed chips and bread to bulk it up. Staff very nice though and overall a pleasant experience in central location.
