94th Aero Squadron - San Diego
Charming restaurant where the mood is set on arrival by the music playing at the entrance. The hostess was very welcoming and even stopped by to check on us during the meal. Our server, Sandra, was a model of cheerful competence. She was alert to anything we might want or need. Good food and wine. Chicken roulades were especially delicious.
Prime rib was good not great. Since I ordered it medium they soaked it and it was not crusty. Potato and bread were delicious! Price was very good for early bird. Our waitress was excellent. Lots of noisy kids.
Service was very slow food came out cold waited over an hour to get our order no fault of the waitress quality of steaks has gone way down very disappointed
Food was outstanding
Nice quiet relaxing dinner
Appetizers we good but dinner and desert Menu not executed well. Food soggy from salsa. Prime rib sad looking. Creme brûlée not finished with crisp top. Server stated that sometimes it’s hard to get cooks to do what they’re supposed to do. Menu ideas are good but for restaurant week to get us to come back it was a fail. Not worth the almost $200 we spent. I waited 10 years for this and was disappointed. Some of the items offered not on your regular menu either. Why would I return? Ambiance was way too dark. Couldn’t see a thing which caused people to use bright cell phone lights at other tables. Annoying. Waiter even commented on darkness.
The service received during Restaurant Week was fairly poor. The server assigned to our table was neither attentive nor friendly at first. I noticed he was more cordial with the other tables (e.g., checking on how everyone was doing, if the food was ok, and if there's anything else needed); however for my table he was very standoffish, quick to dismiss himself, and never checked on how we were. I found it quite odd especially because it wasn't a particularly busy night. So we asked to switch table locations and were about to get a new server, but our initial server followed us to deliver the main course. After we changed tables, the server finally started to check on us and chat a little. The restaurant's ambiance is fitting for its aero squadron theme. The food is okay but nothing really special. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.
Steven gave excellent service as always Food was great and we enjoyed having a window seat for a change instead of the booths we got to watch planes taking off and landing at Montgomery Field
Very good buffet, but the items sometimes lack temperature or seasoning.
Love this place! Will totally come back when we are back in town
One of our favorite restaurants when we visit friends in San Diego. Where else can you eat great food in a vintage environment and look out the window at a WWI airplane.
Great buffet selection, reasonably priced.
Had a very relaxed lunch with friends. We stayed for 3 hours and the restaurant staff was friendly and never gave us grief for staying so long. Two of my friends had lunch buffet and it was great!!
I always enjoy the prime rib. My wife enjoys the Salmon. We reserved our table and were seated right away.
The service is excellent and the environment is very comfortable.
The atmosphere is lovely and our server was very friendly. I felt that the prime rib and mashed potatoes were OK but not great. It was a nice, comfortable place and I would go back.
Themed as a WW1 fighter squadron, 94th has been a staple for an entertaining evening for many years. It's on the north edge of the Montgomery field airport where you can see the flight operations as you dine. The menu is typical american steak and seafood.
Dinner was disappointing and service was lacking. On top of all, we discovered they no longer honor their sister restaurant's (Butcher Shop) gift cards!
Amazing place with good food and good services. The steak was so delicious
The experience was wonderful. The only issue was the lights were burnt out above our table. The food and service were excellent. They even discussed when the best time to see the helicopters and planes flying by.
Service was just OK, it is general much better, food was served hot and quite good.
We enjoyed our experience at the 94th Aero Squadron. Our service was excellent. She was a nice and helpful server. The only thing that would of made our experience better would of been the temperature of the restaurant. We wished it was a bit cooler.
Service slow. Didn’t get s beverage refill until we were about out the door. Buffet lunch not worth it. Wouldn’t go back
We had a party of 9, seven ordered the buffet and two ordered off the menu. The menu items did not arrive until all others were finished eating. It was not a great experience for those riding off the menu.
They overcrowd the place to accommodate more people but it’s not enjoyable when people are bumping your table to get to the dessert station. Food is decent not great.
This is a wonderful venue for a Sunday Brunch. The selections were outstanding and the quality of the food was excellent. Our server was very attentive to our needs.
Overall a good place to have brunch outside. But a bit expensive
We visit this restaurant every time we are in San Diego. The food is incredible and service is always great. The interior and exterior are fun and well appointed.
Nicely themed restaurant. Haven’t been to the Aero squadron in over 30 years when I went to the first one by the Torrance airport. So happy to hear it was still around when I stumbled into it in San Diego
The evening was a total surprise to how much fun it was dancing with all the fun people that were there.
This was a company dinner. All of us were very pleased with the overall experience.
Great brunch buffet! I wish it had more vegan options and less noise, but it was still a super experience.
Best brunch anywhere is San Diego!!! The selection of food can't be beat. Everything was very good. Service was excellent. All in all, a great champagne brunch!
The food was great. I highly recommend the Prime rib and the Caesar salad for starter. The Clam Chowder was another highlight, my daughter liked it so much we ordered an additional one to go. Of course, I can't neglect to mention the amazing creamed corn that they are famous for! The selection of desserts was out of this world, only down side is trying to save room for them, definitely recommend sharing.
But, I have to say that even better than the food was the service. Our waiter Michael was outstanding! Friendly and attentive to our every need, but not pushy in any way. We will definitely be back.
We went here for the first time while in the area for a quiet early dinner. We were seated immediately at a nice window table with a view of the Airport. Our server was very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and very efficient. We ordered drinks which were very good and then dinner. The prime rib was very tender and delicious. My wife ordered crab stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon and was ecstatic. All in all, one of the best meals we have ever had. The old military memorabilia all around the restaurant was very Interesting. They even played old tapes of military radio chatter in the rest room. Just an excellent place for a great dinner. We will return for sure when we are in the area.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience today at 94th Aero Squadron. We've been long time customers and always request C room. Today we were told there was nothing available except a small (crowded) room off of the bar and far from the brunch. Since we had out-of-town guests and didn't want them to have to wait we took that table. This wasn't even like going to the 94th. Our champagne was warm and our water was served in small plastic juice glasses. This is not an unexpensive brunch---$34.95 each and the least we should have had was tall glasses of ice water. Bottom line---we will dine somewhere else from now on--I can't recommend the 94th.

Everything about our Brunch was awesome. We were celebrating
My friends 86th Birthday. Our waitress was great, she kept checking to see if we needed anything.
Food choice was great. We will be back. I highly recommend 94Aero Squadron?
Jasmin was fantastic
The overall experience was great. Food was excellent we had the lunch buffet which was terrific value . The waitress was very busy so the service was not five star but she did her best under the circumstances. We will definitely come again.
we were there for Sunday Brunch Steve was our waiter and he was outstanding
Highly recommend for anytime dining, not just special occasions. We were seated and served immediately upon arrival. It never disappoints.
The server at restaurant was not very good
The restaurant did not have my reservations on their computer I had to show them my open table app
I love using open table
This was the first time the restaurant did not have my reservations
