94th Aero Squadron - San Diego
Nicely themed restaurant. Haven’t been to the Aero squadron in over 30 years when I went to the first one by the Torrance airport. So happy to hear it was still around when I stumbled into it in San Diego
The evening was a total surprise to how much fun it was dancing with all the fun people that were there.
This was a company dinner. All of us were very pleased with the overall experience.
Great brunch buffet! I wish it had more vegan options and less noise, but it was still a super experience.
Best brunch anywhere is San Diego!!! The selection of food can't be beat. Everything was very good. Service was excellent. All in all, a great champagne brunch!
The food was great. I highly recommend the Prime rib and the Caesar salad for starter. The Clam Chowder was another highlight, my daughter liked it so much we ordered an additional one to go. Of course, I can't neglect to mention the amazing creamed corn that they are famous for! The selection of desserts was out of this world, only down side is trying to save room for them, definitely recommend sharing.
But, I have to say that even better than the food was the service. Our waiter Michael was outstanding! Friendly and attentive to our every need, but not pushy in any way. We will definitely be back.
We went here for the first time while in the area for a quiet early dinner. We were seated immediately at a nice window table with a view of the Airport. Our server was very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and very efficient. We ordered drinks which were very good and then dinner. The prime rib was very tender and delicious. My wife ordered crab stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon and was ecstatic. All in all, one of the best meals we have ever had. The old military memorabilia all around the restaurant was very Interesting. They even played old tapes of military radio chatter in the rest room. Just an excellent place for a great dinner. We will return for sure when we are in the area.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience today at 94th Aero Squadron. We've been long time customers and always request C room. Today we were told there was nothing available except a small (crowded) room off of the bar and far from the brunch. Since we had out-of-town guests and didn't want them to have to wait we took that table. This wasn't even like going to the 94th. Our champagne was warm and our water was served in small plastic juice glasses. This is not an unexpensive brunch---$34.95 each and the least we should have had was tall glasses of ice water. Bottom line---we will dine somewhere else from now on--I can't recommend the 94th.

Everything about our Brunch was awesome. We were celebrating
My friends 86th Birthday. Our waitress was great, she kept checking to see if we needed anything.
Food choice was great. We will be back. I highly recommend 94Aero Squadron?
Jasmin was fantastic
The overall experience was great. Food was excellent we had the lunch buffet which was terrific value . The waitress was very busy so the service was not five star but she did her best under the circumstances. We will definitely come again.
we were there for Sunday Brunch Steve was our waiter and he was outstanding
Highly recommend for anytime dining, not just special occasions. We were seated and served immediately upon arrival. It never disappoints.
The server at restaurant was not very good
The restaurant did not have my reservations on their computer I had to show them my open table app
I love using open table
This was the first time the restaurant did not have my reservations
Easily one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego. I had prime rib. I always have prime rib. I even went to the cook and told him I am a native San Diego and have been to a lot of restaurants. But the 94th’s prime rib is the best in my opinion. We got there before six and was able to take advantage of the early bird specials. What a value. Thank you.
This is one of the best places I have eaten. I love the decorations. Service was a bit slow. Need more people during lunch. The sangria is the best.
Our first time there and we had a good time. The service was great and the food was good.
That was an overrated Sunday brunch.
I’ll try Westgate Hotel or the Del for quality food.
Our waitress was awesome!!!
Excellent service from Sandra and her crew. My Bleu Steak was delicious, and prepared perfectly. Baked and salad were excellent t compliments. The drinks were generous, and the wine - a CA merlot, delicious. Love this place!
I went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We had the early flight dinner special and drank mango margaritas. The food and drinks were very good. I couldn’t remember the server’s name but he was very good with exceptional service. I would definitely dine there again.
Great place for lunch. The buffet was a good option and my wife loved her Chinese chicken salad. Relaxed atmosphere and a nice get away.
Nice little buffet. We're from Reno so we go to casino buffets about once a month. This was just an ok buffet for the price.
Food and atmosphere was delightful.
Excellent service. An amazing experience. For sure a most place to go. When visiting san diego..
Service was great and food was wonderful snd good choices. The cappuccino bar was a nice addition.
We always love Sunday brunch at 94th Aero Squadron :-)
Awful buffet... in their defense, it was 1:30pm but what a sad buffet. Empty burnt pans, salad everywhere. Disgusting.
The outdoor patio area was the perfect for dining with a 6-month baby in tow. Several other guests also discovered the beauty of having a place to let their toddlers unwind. The service was great - baby lit up every time our server stopped by to check on us / taking time to engage - she was super sweet and attentive. I had a basic soup and salad - both good, but can attest that the shrimp and crab louie salad is amazing. Dessert was apple-walnut upside down pie with cinnamon ice cream - delicious, but was served with almonds instead of walnuts - walnuts would have been better. Definitely looking forward to lunching there again.
Wife ordered Chicken and it was pink both times, so I had an average steak and she had bread.
Only because I know that that it is a wonderful place to dine.
There were 5 of us and I have a hard time walking, so we were seated on the same level as the main part of the buffet. Michael, our server, kept the champagne, orange and cranberry juice, well stocked. Food was constantly being replenished, and tasty. We totally enjoyed ourselves, and our dinning companions are planning on returning with their 3 kids, because it is a comfortable place for families.
Great, as always. We really go because of the airplanes hanging all over the place, but I still live the traditional steak and seafood menu. Bar drinks were good and service was friendly and efficient. Best skillet of sizzling mushroom around. Yum. It was a treat to return.
Always a favorite of ours for 30 years. Cool vintage aerodrome ambiance, good food, but classy place.
This was a horrible experience. We were not aware it was only “buffet “ on Father’s Day till we arrived. It was very expensive and the food was terrible. The food obviously had been sitting out for a long time and was only like warm. Service was mediocre as we had to ask more than once for our drinks to be served. This has always even a favorite for Father’s Day for us. We will certainly go elsewhere next time.
Went for fathers day buffet.
Got very bad attitude from host because we had a stroller. Sat and Waited along time before server greeted us at table. Never explained how the buffet works or anything.
And , isnt it supposed to be unlimited champagne? Had to Practically beg the server for refills.
Also had to beg for any server to pick up dirty plates. Sat with dirty plates in front of us so long even after we got back with new plates
Cook was eating while serving at the omelette station
No carver at the carving station for meats.
No claw cracking utensils for the crab.
Only ONE changing table in the family restroom which was occupied so went to ladies room with My 6 month old and had to change him on hard marble while people had to go over us to get paper towels to wash their hands. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Excellent Sunday brunch. We were there for Father’s Day. Crowds and noise were expected. Even on such a busy day, we were seated right on time, the food on the brunch buffet was replenished constantly, and our server checked on us constantly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We made reservations for Fathers Day Brunch ahead of time, we got seated an hour AFTER our reservation. The price went up about $20 because of the holiday, yet there was nothing different or special about their menu. It was the most chaotic experience I’ve had there thus far. The fruit looked like it was cut 2-3 days before, and not very fresh. The scrambled eggs were not fully cooked so I had to stand on the other line to get some well cooked scrambled eggs for my little one. We had to clear our own table because yeh waiter was extremely busy and was handling too many tables on his own. We also had to look for our own high chair as it never got to our table. The servers were very friendly and did their best at keeping a smile on their face, but we could see how hard they were working (over working). Maybe have extra staff on holidays? A little more lighting? A bigger buffet area? An “enter here/exit here” sign? Cleaner less slippery floors might be nice too. It was our third time coming to 94th Aero Squadron for brunch, but this time was the least enjoyable visit.
I made reservations in advance and there were many tables available when we arrived. However, we were sat in a secluded area facing the parking lot (came for the experience and view). The host asked my party to follow her and walked off abruptly mid-follow and we couldn't find her. Another host found us and asked us to follow him to our area in a corner. After nicely complaining to rude staff, we were sat on the patio. The waiter had minimal communication and gave us no direction ( we waited a long time for greeting). I asked a busser if this was customary and he told me yes and to just get up and find the buffet, yet I overheard another waiter greeting guests and explaining the buffet and where things were located. The food was meh, the roast beef was extremely bloody, glasses were dirty (food stuck on inside), and the cut pineapple was brown. The options were minimal for the price. I would not recommend this restaurant for the price and value received. I recommend going to Humphreys by the Bay instead for an always amazing champagne brunch experience.
We have gone to this brunch and enjoyed it for years. Great food, relaxing environment. My only complaint is the flow. We went on Father’s Day and had a really hard time moving from station to station. Ended up not getting everything I had planned on eating because I couldn’t easily get to the area.
