Acqua Restaurant + Bar
We were sorry to note that there was no other guests in the dining room. A tough business situation.
To visit with friends and celebrate belated birthdays
The entire restaurant was empty when we arrived and when we left after lunch. We were the only table!
A server just reported to work when we arrived.
Service was alright.
Poor execution of mediocre food quality.
We tried this restaurant through Dine out Vancouver 2020 and was not disappointed with the meal. The piano bar was an excellent touch.
We did the Dine Out Vancouver 2020. Good food with big servings. Very friendly staff. They could do a little more with the ambiance, though. Softer lights and updated decor won’t hurt.
You can't go wrong with a pleasant atmosphere, great service and a menu with many choices. We always enjoy dining here.
Looking forward to an evening out with friends for dinner. For myself I did not have a very good selection as am vegetarian, no meat or fish. The rest of my party had the dine out menu which they said was very good. The restaurant was not able to offer a selection when I advised that could not eat anything with meat/fish base. For this reason giving a 2 star.
They didn't seem to be aware of our reservations. Server was nice and efficient--she took good care of our person who had food allergies. But service didn't match the level we anticipated considering the menu.
Food was ok. Portions were good but nothing fabulous.
Ambiance was very casual, considering the menu for Dine out. Expected ambiance to have been a little more dining room-like vs lounge.
Good place to have a great meal
We went to the restaurant for the dine out Vancouver menu. The food was very good and the service was very good. I enjoyed the piano music but we were sitting close to the piano and found it a bit loud
We came during Dine Out. The tuna salad was spectacular. However, our steaks were way overcooked. They were dry and chewy. The veal was also lacking in the flavour. It wasn't as good a value as some other Dine Out restaurants we went to this year. Ambiance was okay, but music was a little loud.
It was awesome!!! Service was so friendly and excellent my veal was cold though I wish it was hot like the chicken.
Overall the environment and food was good. Just we have a rookie server, which she doesn’t know the food and wine they have and we have to point it out in the menu. She also doesn’t know the how to pour wine and dripping it everywhere outside of the glass and table. The weirdest was when we pay the bill, she enter the tips amount for me instead of passing it for myself to enter.
I was initially put off by the set up of the restaurant. The restaurant is open to the lobby of the hotel, and the lighting is quite bright for a dinner setting... it looked more like a cafeteria. I was ready to walk out when my friend insisted we try it out. Surprisingly, the food was lovely! I had the seared tuna for starter and yummy! followed by the veal osobuco, fall off the bone meat, with lovely vegetable medley and mash potatoes ~ Delicious! the desert was a bit Meh.... I had the chocolate cake.
overal, don't judge a book by its cover! it was worth the dine out experience.
Dine out menu in 2020 is worth the value
We had a lovely time!
It is a good place to have lunch with friends and families who you enjoy having conversation with in relaxed atmosphere. Service was excellent!
I made reservations on Open Table and when we got to the restaurant, they said we didn't have reservations. I showed them my confirmation and they were able to set up a table.
A bit upsetting as my group thought I had made a mistake.
The piano entertainer was very good and a nice background to the chatter from other tables.
Staff seemed unprepared/overwhelmed for a Mother's day Brunch. Food was passable at best, and service was non-existent. Even paying the bill was troublesome.
Came for the Mother’s Day brunch. Waiters didn’t know what the we’re doing (absolutely no clue what was going on and could not answer our questions). Very disorganized. Food was not the best quality for the $50/person price tag. Could have had a steak dinner and wine for that price, instead of over cooked eggs Benedict in a heat tray and jugs of juice from concentrate.
Food was awesome. Service was excellent. Recommend this place highly.
Suggesting for a designated area with proper signage for table reservations so as not to leave guests clueless as to where they are going upon arrival. Easy access upon payment and not going to the other side of the restaurant just to do so.
I was very disappointed as Acqua had no knowledge of my reservation, although I had made it almost a week prior and had confirmation. They did manage to fit us in in a timely fashion, but I don't blame them, I blame Open Table, so I would not feel comfortable with using Open Table again
What a lovely restaurant! We were impressed with the variety of choices on their menu and enjoyed a lovely meal. I ordered the salmon, which was perfectly done with just the right amount of veggies and mashed potato. We also ordered a pasta dish with was also quite tasty. The piano player's music added to the ambiance and was very enjoyable.
Food wasn't anything special. Steak was good but everything else was just meh... staff friendly though!
What a lovely dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends. The menu choices are good and the food was excellent. They have live piano music, very entertaining, and lovely surroundings. I was surprised there weren't more people dining there.
Food was mediocre. Salmon was over seasoned for my liking. Waitress was sloppy and forgetful;meaning spilling coffee, soup spilling on side of bowl etc. Value for price is just not there.
The foods were good, but it was hard to find a parking spot and not FREE PARKING. Maybe a small food portion.
The food was excellent and the service, in the end was good. It was difficult to begin with and it took a while for us to receive a menu and our food, but the taste was great and the amount was just right. Some people might think it isn't much, but it is rich and tasty and filling. I would reccomend this restaurant for a date night with your significant other or friends.
Really slow service. The environment wasnt that great either. Was my first time trying at the restaurant. Pictures of the restaurant did does not compare to how it really is like in person. Tried the dine out menu. Both appies were not good. But everything else was good. Was a good experience but wouldn’t be going back or recommend to others
This is a restaurant off to the side of the lobby in a hotel. The lounge is almost part of the lobby as there is no wall separating them. The restaurant blends into the lounge but is slightly further away.
The food was okay, but over priced for the quality and environment in my opinion. That being said they have a great happy hour. If I was staying in the hotel I would eat here I guess, but then again if you walk less than 5 minutes you have 5 better choices.
Acqua is a casual dining restaurant in the newly renovated Executive Inn. Comparable menu to Cactus Club next door but with a less hip decor. The piano player seems to believe that adding trills and florishes to every note of old standards makes them fresh and new. It just makes them noisy and annoying. Service was friendly and prompt. Food met our expectations for a casual restaurant.
Thanks to Acqua Restaurant and Open Table, our plans for Christmas dinner were ruined. We were directed to Open Table from the Acqua Restaurant website. From there we requested a time of 7:00 pm, but the Open Table website indicated that the only open times were between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. We had not planned on brunch but since no evening times were available, we decided to take the 10:00 am reservation. We also received three messages from Open Table confirming our reservation. We got to the restaurant on Christmas morning and there was nothing - the staff said that there was NEVER a Christmas brunch, only an evening meal. No one at Acqua/Executive Hotel apologized or offered any indication that they cared that our plans for a family Christmas meal were ruined. Thanks Acqua. Thanks Open Table. A bad screw up for which no one has taken responsibility or offered any apology or courtesy. On the other hand, the service and food at Thai Son was excellent as usual!
Went for Christmas dinner buffet @ 6:45 the food was very tasty however had to dig under the dry top layer, no one at the carving station, meat was cold as it was put by the opening door. Not asked for 2nd drinks, waiter was miserable as was the bar tender. Food staff was great. They starting breaking down the side room while we were still eating and we had to listen to that noise of stacking chairs and collapsing table, certainly didn’t give a nice peaceful Christmas dinner. Just felt we were bothering them, apparently they moved some peoples reservations up but not ours, it was just a few tables by 7:00, kinda ruined the whole experience as it was like we were a bother to our waiter. Such a shame that no one made an effort other than the kitchen staff. There was also a piano player who was to play until 8:00, which I was enjoying until they cut him at 7:20.....we did not get what we were led to believe.
Wonderful and attentive service. Food was delicious and very good value!
Food was overcooked, bland but mostly overpriced! Our pasta was overcooked and way too soft. Four of us had pasta dishes and the portion sizes were variable. We also ordered chicken strips from the $10 menu. 4 small chicken strips for $10 is very overpriced. $4 extra for fries. Feeding my child ended up costing $24 and he was still hungry. Service was ok but perhaps too attentive. We also had calamari which was fine but again overpriced at $15. It also inexplicably came after our main courses. We probably won’t return due to the lack of value. Also, they included gratuity on the bill for a party of six. Very strange...and when paying by card, you don’t really have the option to tip less unless you make a stink about it.
Family present with two young children and poor parenting skills did not add to evening meal.
Back ground music might have helped mediate the issue.
Reservation was not held for us, had to wait, not even directed to bar for drinks while we wait, steak was way underdone, desert icecream was melted by the time we recieved it, service sucked. Do not go here!
