Afternoon Tea at Burley Manor

Just stunning. We booked an afternoon tapas and ended up with a tea but it was amazing. Gluten free and vegan. Was so impressed with everything.

1st wedding anniversary, we were treated so well and we really enjoyed the complimentary champagne.

The scenery alone is such a treat. Nothing better than having tea in a conservatory overlooking deer at chritmas time.

We had a lovely afternoon tea at Burley Manor Hotel.

I went with my friends as busy mums we needed a bit of relaxation.
The venue was perfect and the vegan food was tasty.
Overall we had a lovely time.

Thank goodness our experience with the Burley Manor Cream Tea far exceeded the experience we had as paying guests in the hotel. The afternoon tea waiter was the best trained person we encountered in the three days we were there and excelled in his approach to customer service. The other staff would do well to take note and request some proper staff training.

Really enjoyed it. My only issue is not enough savoury and too much sweet! Would have loved more sandwiches, they were delicious!

We had a lovely afternoon tea, good service overall although we had to ask for extra tea. The food was lovely, a good combination of flavours although the scones were a little dry and we only had a very small amount of cream and jam between the three of us.

Fantastic service and the food was delicious! The views are also stunning. Definitely worth the price.

Lovely afternoon tea. We cleared our plates as everything was delicious. A nice mix of savoury and sweet. We felt safe and considered in relation to social distancing. Quiet ambience and lovely views of the deer in park in front . Will be returning for a special occasion only.

Surroundings and location of The Burley Hotel is gorgeous. On a beautiful day there is a great patio area. Had our temperature taken on arrival which was really a good idea. Our pot of tea arrived quite quickly. Then followed later with the tea. Would have liked it all together. The tea was very nice indeed. A bit different from the usual it had a Mediterranean twist to it which was lovely. All beautifully presented. We really enjoyed it. Would have thought for the price a glass of prosecco could have been included as have had many teas out for less money which have included a glass. However it's a really lovely place so taking that into consideration.

A very special afternoon tea that my wife will remember for years. I can't ask for more than that.

Booked at the time of eat out to help out, so superb value, a fantastic place for afternoon tea, with more than enough for 2 people. Will definitely return for an evening meal in the future.

Poor service. No One explained what the food was or the fillings But we heard this being done for other diners. We had to keep trying to find someone to get extra tea and coffee as no one checked with us. It was a celebration of my retirement and my friends promotion which we confirmed in a call the previous day but nothing was said. They couldn’t even find my booking initially despite it being confirmed the previous day. No apology just seemed to be too much trouble to locate our booking. Even when we refused to pay the service charge added to our bill no one asked us why

Service was extremely poor with a service charge automatically added. Our waiter came out to the terrace to take our drinks order and told us last time for afternoon tea was 5.00 but we had booked online for 5.30 - he just said the website was wrong. He brought us 2 teapots when we went into the drawing room and some milk but no spoons and no Sugar or food. I Had to go and look for someone to ask for both. The waiter i found was much better and did bring us plates and cutlery and also food. But overall service very poor and overpriced.

Despite stiflingly hot and humid weather, no fans provided. Very uncomfortable chairs. After tea brought, no offer of hot water or more milk provided, despite requests. To add insult to injury, service was included on the bill - WHAT SERVICE?!!! Place dusty and faded. Won't be back.

Afternoon tea how it should be done. Top quality food, presented beautifully in fabulously decorated surroundings.

Upon arrival, we were greated and shown to our table. The decor is beautiful inside. We received our tea very quickly and our food arrived shortly after. Overal, good experience.

The food was beautiful as always but the service was very disappointing. We were forgotten about once our tea had been brought to us. I had to go and ask reception where our afternoon tea was. By the time is came out (took 40 minutes!) our tea was cold. I asked for fresh pot of tea which took a further half an hour. Really disappointed with the service and wait time as I’ve been before and had a lovely time. It has put me off going back which is a shame.

Lovely afternoon tea, was so impressed by the decor and food!! Came for my 21st birthday and couldn’t of asked for a better afternoon. Had some drinks in the garden too, lovely!

Lovely surroundings. Diverse savoury and sweet treats. Presented beautifully. Little mix up with what children were allowed to have as drinks (mine do't drink tea or coffee). Charged extra for second juice but tea unlimited. Surprised children were not offered a cut down version of the afternoon tea which would then be priced accordingly - most other establishments do this. Paid for 4 full afternoon teas for 2 adults and 2 children (12 and 10).

Took mum for Mother’s Day treat and it was lovely. Great food , service And atmosphere.

Our afternoons teas were lovely and I really liked the way they were served and the setting, however once everyone in the room had been served all the waiting staff disappeared which meant I had to go and find someone myself when I wanted more tea. this was a shame as I would have hoped they would be more attentive.

Don’t get me wrong we very much enjoyed our Afternoon Tea at Burley Manor. We were very much left on our own, the gentleman serving us did pop back once but it would of been nice to have been checked up on a little earlier...we’d ran out of milk but there was no one around to ask for more.

I also felt like there could not been a more extensive sandwich selection, I actually prefer the savoury side of afternoon tea and there were only 2 different types of sandwich on offer along side a little tartlet and bun.

Those two very small points aside. The building and grounds are beautiful and the drawing room was very cosy and comfortable.

We booked afternoon tea at Burley Manor as part of our daughter's 21st birthday weekend celebrations, as we had celebrated her 18th birthday with an evening meal at Burley Manor and really enjoyed it!!
Overall our afternoon tea experience was very pleasant and there was a lovely range of sweet and savoury treats.

It was very cold in the room we were in and we asked for more sandwiches as there didn’t feel like enough savoury! Other than that it was lovely

My partner is pregnant i contacted before hand to let them know and confirmed with the waiter when asked about dietary requirements on the day....still got served items she should not be eating.
Other than that it was an enjoyable experience.

Burley Manor is a lovely setting for Afternoon Tea - however, beware, as you may be given a table in the dining room, rather than in their comfortable and decorative lounge. I was most disappointed last week when I took friends there as they had seen my pictures of a previous visit (when I was seated in the lounge) and they very much wanted to experience the same. When I booked the Tea it was not mentioned that we would have to sit in the dining room and had we known this, we would have booked on a different day.

Nicely presented afternoon tea.
A good selection of sweet and savour items. Very pleasant lounge area with cosy arm chairs.
Staff were pleasant but could have been a fraction more attentive.
Good food and value for money, would come again.

Took my Mum for her 85th birthday having never been to Burley Manor before. We were made to feel very welcome; lovely staff and service. Great way to spend an afternoon and they even bagged up our leftovers for my son! Would definitely recommend to all. Enjoy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea and it was a treat to find a savoury scone included which was delicious!

Unfortunately, the weather was bad so a wedding party had to be accommodated inside hence the level of noise, this would not usually be the case.

We will definitely visit again as the staff were friendly and very accommodating.

The savoury tapas and Prosecco made a lovely change from sandwiches and scones ....delicious. Then, the sweets and cakes were amazing! Loved it
