Afternoon Tea at Cadogan's by Adam Handling
毎日の 13:30 - 17:30
Excellent savoury delights, scones and patisserie.
A delightful afternoon. Very pleasant staff..
The staff couldn’t be more helpful, polite or friendly - they were fantastic! And the surroundings were beautiful. If we’re honest we were slightly disappointed with the food. It was very nice, but not amazing which is what we were expecting.... the sandwiches were a bit ‘crusty’ as if they’d been left out. The scones were lovely and the cakes nice. Just not ‘wow’ which for the price, should have been.
Wonderful experience- exceptional tea.
I have been to 13 afternoon teas in London as it is one of my favourite ways to celebrate and this is in my top 3. The service was excellent, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was stunning. The flavours were spot on and I absolutely loved the savouries inbetween the sandwiches and the scones as it gave the afternoon tea much more balance between sweet and savoury. The location was wonderful and I would spend all day there if I could. Highly recommend it!
Excellent setting. Food and service was just perfect. Staff were attentive and one even ran done the street after us as I accidentally left a bag by the table!
Fabulous afternoon tea. Service was excellent especially from manager Leonard.
Food delicious especially the cakes and pastries.
Tea was underwhelming, disapointing, compared to Claridges and The Dorchester. Sandwiches seemed dry, not freshly made. Server was tentative; she struggled to fit serving plates on base. Sweet cakes were mixed, some outstanding, some dry, some ordinary. Scones not served promptly, we had to ask when they were coming. Given that our group had dined at The Frog the night before, the tea service was not even close to that standard.
Arrived to a warm welcome, beautiful room.
Menu given to us & each section explained. When the food arrived the dishes were described with great detail, looked amazing, really loved the tree display unit for the afternoon tea, & the tea cosy on the pots, great personal touch.
The only feedback I would give is we had 3 different members of the hotel team looking after us, & on a couple of occasions there were long paused where they overlapped. The only other comment, we asked to have a glass of champagne with the afternoon tea, expecting to be given the Adam Handling Sussex Champagne, however when the bill came we realised we had been given the Tattinger.
Delicious afternoon tea and nice service. Would recommend.
We booked an afternoon tea table for 3, with each person having a vegan, vegetarian and meat diet respectively. The atmosphere and décor was both comfy and classy. We had great overall service, despite a hiccup with the kitchen that delayed our service somewhat. The management took care of the matter very promptly and professionally. The food itself was delicious for all 3 different pallettes, and the Adam Handling Champagne was excellent. It was a birthday celebration and the thoughtful restaurant team had organized both a birthday card and a little sweet treat. I wish to thank all the team there for their sterling efforts. I will visit again shortly to see whether there is continuity here, but for the moment would highly recommend.
It was lovely.
But we had 1 pregnant guest and one vegetarian with additional food intolerances. The waiter confused the bejesus out of us in explaining what everything was. Had no idea who could eat what.
We did eat enough, but I think the vegetarian was a bit nervous. (We asked 3 times and the explanations were confusing and inconsistent)
And we tried the house champagne, not for our pallet.
But the staff are lovely and the decore is delightful.
Fantastic better than the Ritz, staff were amazing and very attentive.
An afternoon tea like no other! We had a truly wonderful experience and the food was incredible. We brought my parents for their anniversary and they were blown away by the hospitality here. A place everyone should try. Thank you!!
Afternoon Tea at Cadogan‘s by Adam Handling was a real treat.
Upon arrival I was greeted by a member of staff who guided me to the table.
At this festive season the Afternoon Tea had some special cakes reflecting Christmas. I was surprised about the choice of tea and the selection of savory food. It all looked amazing and tasted delicious.
The icing of the cake is the tea cosy made by Adam‘s Mum. To continental Europeans it might look outdated but for me it was a perfect sign of English hospitality and tradition. They match nicely to the colourful tea cups.
This will be one thing to remember. Thank you so much.
Era la vigilia di Natale ed è stato tutto perfetto, siamo stati accolti da Enrico che ci ha presentato con accuratezza ogni pietanza. Da consigliare a chi vuole provare un’esperienza innovativa ma dalla tradizione britannica.
A last minute Saturday Christmas afternoon tea with guests from abroad . Could not believe we actually got a reservation! The restaurant area is small and intimate and beautifully decorated. Service was excellent throughout,
faultless. Afternoon tea was l Ely a great selection of savoured, cakes and warm scones ..... not 5 star ..? The sandwiches just didn’t have the edge of Claridges.
Would certainly return - love the Belmonde brand !
Although the quality of Food is excellent and in a great variety the main impression is a noisy room (especially with a group of younger guests standing at the Bar) with music that did not match the special atmosphere of Advent. The service could have been more attentive. 50 minutes between arrival of guests and arrival of sandwiches and savouries is too long. We missed the special Edwardian tranquillity of the former Cadogan.
Such a great birthday treat! Delicious food and lovely Champagne selection.
Unfortunately the food and ambiance was mediocre and at £50+ per person ridiculously overpriced for miserable cakes, half stale sandwiches and scones that would be better from Sainsbury. Service was polite but spectacularly slow. I’ve met faster snails.
Manager exceptionally accommodating and super professional. I was with a challenging guest but he managed to deal with her in the most professional manner. Working myself in service industry I was impressed with him. Tall, blond hair with an accent.
Little less impressed with servers who could have been more attentive. Overall I will definitely return mostly on the faith on management. Food and value for money you can get better in London. Good but nothing to rave about definitely did not match quality of service and overall experience.
Classy and homely proper traditional afternoon tea. We were not rushed, the service was charming; lovely touches with Adam Handling’s Mum’s knitted tea cosy! You were made to feel as if you were in a front parlour but in a modern room
With a lovely ambience. A very special afternoon. Oh and the actual tea was ample and delicious
We had arrived late do to very heavy traffic but they looked after u s very well . Afternoon tea was lovely , if u wanted more of anything it was available but my friend and I didn't need anymore (shame).
Overall, quite a luxurious experience. The food was excellent and the tea itself top notch. The staff did not communicate well to us unfortunately. We asked for the house champagne but were poured glasses of a much more expensive rose (which I do not care for); we were also asked if we wanted "two full teas" or just one---because the quantity of food could be quite large and we decided for one. However, we were charged for two which was not at all clear from the interaction. Despite the low quality of the service, the food and setting made this a positive experience.
The venue is much beloved by me so having difficulty adjusting to the new decor with moved staircase and all. Nothing exceptional about the food. Good but not top tier, £90 per person for afternoon tea and one glass of champagne didn’t strike me as great value wise but would be happy to pay for it if food was top level. Also tea was like warm so didn’t brew properly. Shame as staff were lovely
Although it was good in general but it was really very slow service
This is a new afternoon tea establishment, but it is award winning, so we tried it. It was fancy and quaint t, but oh my goodness, it was DELICIOUS! A must do splurge!
Memorable tea. In addition to the tea sandwiches, scones and desserts, there is also a savories course (with the option of extra sandwiches and savories). Plus they served a sublime hot chocolate for our non-tea drinker. Beautiful, comfortable setting with a terrific staff. Lovely part of London.
This was the best afternoon tea we have had for a long time. The food was sublime, the truffles egg custard was outstanding. The free flowing bubbles was good value against the cost of an individual glass of wine ( could have been a tad more free flowing as I am a fast drinker !)
Service was excellent and the boxes to take our left overs home in were the final excellent touch
Would not hesitate to recommend
The afternoon tea food was excellent.
However the service needs to improve. Bought a bottle of water and champagne and had to ask what happened to the water, after one glass. The head waiter gave us another bottle of water for free.
Had to ask for the tea and ask for a refill. Had to ask for scones. Jam and cream came without spoons.
The tea needed to be hotter, but that it a common problem in restaurants and hotels.
There is potential for this to be one of the best afternoon teas in London, if the service issues are sorted out.
Highly recommended! A great dining experience and a wonderful birthday treat. The staff were extremely attentive. The table was set beautifully. Good value AND delightfully indulgent!
We had an outstanding afternoon tea with perfect Service. It was a pleasure and great value for the amount paid. We will come back.
Gorgeous tea with attentive staff who knew just when to fill our teacups with delicious Newby tea. Great attention to detail.
Went to Afternoon Tea for a friend’s birthday and had an absolutely lovely time! Highly recommend!
Staff were really friendly and helpful. There were roadworks outside and staff brought us each a glass of champagne to say sorry and express their concern. The savoury food was not just predictable sandwiches. The tea selection was extensive and teapots were topped up readily. Tea cosies added a personal touch, they are knitted by Adams’ mum. We look forward to returning.
Very disappointing experience and definitely not value for money. We have eaten at Frog (both Covent Garden and the new one in Hoxton) and had expected something good.
My partner is a pescatarian and we had notified them at the time of booking and again on confirming. However, they seemed surprised and there was no attempt to make any amendment. The only difference was that the meat sandwich was put on a separate plate and two extra extra vegetarian sandwiches were delivered. I had to ask or milk three times for my tea and when it was delivered it was sour. They had to change the cup and did not even apologise. When they asked if we wanted any more savour, it took 20 minutes to produce two small egg sandwiches and two (cold) gougeres.
The free flowing champagne is more of a dribble and the glass was left empty for 10 minutes before being refilled. Very surprising as there were more staff than customers.
When we asked for the small deserts to be packed they brought us an empty box and left it on the table! That at least made us smile. Can not recommend and will not go back.
Beautifully presented afternoon tea in a peaceful and relaxing setting
We had a lovely time for afternoon tea but the food wasn’t as food as I expected. The sandwiches were a nice flavour but the meat was very fatty. The deserts were lovely though.
When we arrived we asked for some sparkling wine which I knew we had to pay for but then he poured us such a small amount I thought it must be free. All other tables got a normal size glass but obviously because he finished a bottle with us we didn’t get a normal amount. It was honestly just a sip each which we had to pay £14 each for. We didn’t see this waiter again and everyone else we had was much better but still a bit frustrating to pay that price for such a small amount of sparkling wine. It was very nice, but they should make sure people have a proper glass when it’s not cheap to have one.
Very poor service and the food was average to good. The staff just seemed disinterested and inconvenienced when asked to top up the tea! The most disappointing afternoon tea service I’ve had in London. The hotel is lovely and has the promise of being excellent - if they can sort out the service.
Nice tea with lots of extra details and some opportunity to customise. Homemade jam in particular was very good. Staff were lovely , However everything took ages - I think in part because they were waiting for us to finish each last mouthful (which we couldn’t). Requests for a new pot of tea had to be repeated as did a request for a box to take home uneaten cakes - for which I had to sign a statement that the cakes were in perfect condition when I left which is a bit odd and not something I have ever encountered elsewhere. Hot chocolate made with coconut milk ( the only option) was unusual but not in a good way unless you like Bountys
First class, luxurious experience.
Amazing sweets combined with great selection of teas and faultless service.
I've tried many afternoon teas in London, but this was the best ever.
Well done Adam.
