Fantastic afternoon tea at the Corinthian…..the very nice waitress arranged for a table and drinks later on the bar……a lovely way to see out a great day!
We really enjoyed our experience and was a very nice way to celebrate our anniversary.
My daughter and I had afternoon tea to celebrate her 21st birthday. From start to finish the service was exceptional. Extremely friendly staff who made her birthday extra special. Thank you Corinthia. Truly amazing hotel.
Service was beyond what you expect from a establishment like this and the food/drink was amazing. Also the man playing the piano was a lovely touch and was nice he came to the table for a chat and to see if there were any requests. Overall experience was amazing and one to remember.
An extremely pleasant way to spend an afternoon. The sandwiches were very fresh and had interesting and tasteful fillings. Delicious scones and cakes all served by professional and friendly staff.
Glorious afternoon tea outstanding service beautiful settings and the most delicious food definitely as good as the ritz cant wait to go again
A warm welcome, delicious food, great choice of teas, lovely china, attractive presentation. Memorable afternoon.
Booked afternoon tea for 7th Wedding Anniversary, really enjoyed the experience, service was excellent. We were looked after well by the staff and treats were amazing in the end we even got complimentary box to take away.
Outstanding service in a beautiful setting. Perfect balance of savoury and sweet, immaculately presented with a theatrical fare. No better afternoon tea in London.
It’s light and airy, tables are positioned so you are away from others.
Attentive staff, however we both felt we would have liked longer than our hour and forty five minute allotted time, whilst we were not hurried, we felt it was time to leave!
I did raise this to the manager, but the service we had was poor. 30 mins would pass, plates not cleared, water not refilled, cold tea. It’s like no one was looking after our table. And to be fair for an afternoon tea of 160 pounds in a five star hotel, the service was very average. Disappointed by it all. On the plus side, the food was delicious, it’s just the service that was so bad.
Absolutely beautiful from start to finish. The service, the ambience, the food and drink were each their own bubble of perfection. When combined, it created a truly magical experience.
A Coeliac s Delight (Glutten free) excellent variety of Glutten free sandwiches, cakes and scones matched by the excellent and friendly service and staff..Note there are disabled parking bays by the entrance on Whitehall Place which we could not find on the Westminster Parking site.A haven in these times and although obviously "understaffed " given the current situation, service was not affected with everyone helping out A true delight all round. Only posutive comments.
Very average food, not good value at all unfortunately!
Beautiful setting, delicious food and super attentive service. What more could you ask for!?
Lovely venue, champagne and sandwiches was good, scones was excellent and the cakes was average.
Presentation was disappointing as a tier stand would be better than served direct on a plate or scone box.
White Tea was nice.
Service from Tim was 5 star.
I was actually booked into The Savoy and they cancelled my booking at short notice...So I looked around and found The Corinthia.
So pleased I went...Its a must if you like Afternoon Tea. The food and the service was first class...nothing was told much trouble for the staff. They made us feel very special.
Lovely afternoon tea. Staff very attentive and polite.
The sandwiches were very nice and they offered us a second round. The sweets were not too heavy which is to my liking. The live piano makes it a very relaxing experience.
Would definitely recommend it.
Lovely place for afternoon tea and lovely service from all staff!
Service was poor. No one asked us if we needed anything, we had to wait to get someone’s attention to ask for more tea. there was nothing worth the money it costs.
Amazing visit for afternoon tea and the service was wonderful.
Food was lush too , just perfect
Scones were the best ever, sandwiches very fresh and cakes looked and tasted good. We were able to bring anything we left home in a doggy bag!
Tea wasn’t very hot, and waiter kept pouring lukewarm tea into cold dregs which wasn’t pleasant. Also , had to ask for a clean plate for our cakes after eating the scones/jam/cream. Would have thought that would be automatic!
However, overall experience was good, lovely piano playing, and very attentive staff.
Experience was pleasant service was as good as you would expect for the cost. Didn’t feel rushed however when I called the hotel a week before my bikini they confirmed we would get two hours at the table but we were then told on the day that we had 1 hour 45 mins. We did arrive 12 mins early but were told our table was not ready and to maybe take a walk while we wait.
The sandwiches and scones are always the best bit. The patisserie at the end is a bit too cream and mousse based. Would prefer some less creamy, cake, tart or pastry options
Really lovely overall experience. Exactly what we wanted. Staff were amazing. If I’m being really harsh, the chairs are not the comfiest. The tea could’ve been kept hotter.
However I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.
Loved it, thanks!
Though the standard of the sandwiches and cake was excellent - some of the flavours in the sandwiches weren't to my wife's taste and given the choice she wouldn't have truffle and pickled cucumber. The crab/lobster and coronation chicken were superb however. We also liked the rhubarb and Chai tea jam with the scones
Violetta was excellent
Maybe some more variety with the sandwiches ie fish options if possible.
Wr had a lovely time. Everything qas exquisite. The decor, the food, the service was all outstanding. We will be back in September.
Delightful service, delicious food and a wonderful setting. Afternoon tea with a gently modern twist
Wonderful service and excellent food.
Excellent food & good service. Took a little longer to be attended to than expected but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. Good setting as well, felt relaxed & friendly - a well struck balance between a touch of class and trendy feel. Well done Corinthia, we’ll be back.
A wonderful afternoon tea and we will definitely be going back. Thank you for a lovely first activity out of lockdown.
It was such a lovely afternoon, the service was very attentive and polite with lots of good quality food offered to us during the stay. We enjoyed the experience, decor and piano music too.
So lovely to be out and about again. The Corinthia staff were charming and clearly so pleased to be welcoming customers back after lockdown. Portions were generous and they were happy to make up a box of everything we could not finish.
Stunning experience - excellent service and very high quality food. 100% recommended
It's a beautiful setting. Fabulous attentive staff. Food was lovely. Loved it - such a nice treat. Definitely going back
The best, loved the staff, piano player, everything!
Fab experience, friendly expert helpful staff. Afternoon tea served as a 3 course meal style, rather than on a 3 tier stand, great idea. Already making plans to go again. The ultimate is the Ritz. this is a close 2nd.
I have done Ritz, Claridges, Horse Guards Hotel, Fortnum’s.
Corinthia and Ritz top of the list.
This has rapidly become our favourite place for Afternoon Tea in London. It is a gorgeous setting. The finger sandwiches had plenty of filling and were 6 very different flavours. The scones were fresh and warm (a key point for me) and the cakes were delicious. Service was attentive and the team were lovely and friendly...however I’ve knocked off one star for a few bits and pieces that would not normally get past the eagle eyed Thomas Kochs (my plate stripes were not aligned, my red cup was a different colour to the blue plates and I had to ask for a fresh cup as mine had tea leaf dregs in it). We also said it was “an occasion” on the booking (which it was) but this was not acknowledged (fine - but then why did they ask if its anything special?)
