   We booked the table several months in advance for a birthday occasion. When we arrived, they proceeded to give us the worst table in the house upon hearing the American accent. They had plenty of tables available in the conservatory but wanted to seat us in the empty restaurant. The waitress made a bit of fuss when we asked to be moved to the conservatory but reluctantly complied with our request. This was booked as a special occasion. The restaurant should have ensured we had a nice table. The tea was lovely;however, I will not return based on the way I was treated.

   Lovely time except was seated 20 minutes late which caused us to miss our train. (Last table were late) Although it was very quiet so not sure why we couldn't of gone straight to another table. Just frustrated as we have hourly trains to catch and had two 6 year olds with us so ended up a late night for them. Staff were very apologetic and friendly though.

   Scones, tea selection and sandwiches were great. Some of the pastry were too sweet for my taste. The location is great. A real British experience, maybe a bit too pricy, but something you can do once to treat yourself.

    Had an amazing afternoon for my mums birthday. Really attentive staff, beautiful place with an abundance of cakes and sandwiches. I would highly recommend this afternoon tea. This is my second visit.

    We were visiting London on a family holiday and this was the perfect afternoon tea for our group of 10. The kids and adults both enjoyed the experience and they were very accommodating to allergies and dietary needs. The candy bar was a sweet ending!

    The sandwiches were disappointing and flavorless. There were egg shells in the egg salad. And the presentation of the sandwiches was awful. It may be a pretty and fun idea but it was actually such a bad experience. The desserts were over sweet and quite frankly gross. Everything in an effort to stay on theme with the candy theme, tasted artificially flavored and nauseating. The only good thing was the actual tea and the scones. Disappointing!

    As always very nice experience having afternoon tea at the chesterfield. All the staff from the Porter at entry to the people serving tea are very polite and make the experience one to remember. Will be back very soon.

    I’ve been to the Chesterfield before and it was an amazing experience. How ever this time I felt let down. When we entered the tea room, the sweet cart which is bright and vibrant was just inside the restaurant door, so the tea room looked like a dull conservatory (it was a rainy day which didn’t help). We were shown to our table and had to wait ages before a lady came and explained the menu. We placed our tea order and again had to wait ages before it arrived, the food arrived before the tea. Our server disappeared and we asked for more tea and again had to wait ages. The quality of the food was excellent. We asked for more cakes again our server disappeared, when she came back I asked about the cakes and she said you’ve already had them (we hadn’t) this was very embarrassing. I had asked for a birthday to be mentioned we again had to track down our server and we had to ask for the birthday plate (it was on the booking) This was our American family’s first experience but I was not impressed.

    Visited the chesterfield Mayfair hotel for the first time for afternoon tea and it was absolutely magical. The hotel itself is stunning so we had high expectations and they certainly didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and the staff are friendly and very professional but the highlight of the afternoon was the tea. I had the chocolate tea and candy tea and my mum had the liquorice tea and all I can say is wow. As soon as they bring it to the table and start pouring it you instantly get a smell of an amazing assortment of spices and flavours. While in London I would definitely recommend afternoon tea at the chesterfield because I know no other place that does this variety of different flavoured tea. ☺️ Thank you to all the staff

    Lovely tea and treats. Beautiful venue and not as pricey as others. Allowed us to continually refill and try different teas. Presentation of sandwiches and scones was beautiful. Would you back.

    The food was good and unlimited, which is quite generous. This gave an opportunity to enjoy more than one tea and additional of the items we preferred. The service started really nice and then a shift change occurred leaving us with a new waitress and needing to flag her down to get assistance.

    I think it was just bad luck that I went on a Saturday, which I had no choice as my Godson has school during the week. I spoke to 2 different staff about my OpenTable reservation which included the child offer of Afternoon Tea for £21.50. Please note, don’t arrive early as you will be seated but you won’t actually be served until your actual booking time. Food was fresh and faultless. Staff were polite but busy as expected. I think they need to familiarise themselves more with OpenTable bookings. Perhaps they have just joined the OpenTable scheme? Perhaps the staff do not have access to log in and check? The bill came and again, I had to tell the staff about the OpenTable offer which they corrected. The sweet shop was a lovely idea which my Godson loved. Would I go back? Not until they get familiar with OpenTable and most definitely not at the weekends.

    Really liked the afternoon tea. The food was good (with the exception of the stale cupcake). Offered extras of everything. Beautiful tea room. Great for children. Would definitely return but would not like to pay £5 for a small coke!

    Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was disappointing, it had all clearly been prepped in advance as sandwich bread, the macaroni and a cake were all so dry and some of the selection was lacking in flavour. Hot drinks and champagne were nice. Venue and staff good but the food needs refinements to justify the price.
