Not a fan, overpriced and weird place. Had a reservation table for 4, wouldn’t seat us until all were there. Tried to give us a horrible table by the stairs, we asked for another and it was a 5 minute meeting to move us to another. Minuscule portions, very very expensive wine, constant confusion when runners brought food to our table and they never knew who got what. Just interruptive, sloppy and the food was just adequate, nothing special. Nope, don’t bother.
Our waiter was very courteous and professional, BUT the front receptionist was very disoriented and not welcoming. Food was very good.
Frankly, I had my doubts about dining at a small-plates restaurant for Restaurant Week, but I didn't need to worry. While the offerings cannot be said to be generous for RW, the food was of exceptional quality and the service was incredibly accommodating, especially to a guest who has multiple food allergies. We would definitely return to Agora Tysons.
Showed up for restaurant week set dinner. Only one of three menus had restaurant week menu in them. Ordered a cocktail and was told the cocktail menu had been changed so couldn't get the cocktail. Menu presented as starter, first, second, and dessert. All courses except dessert came out at the same time.
Came for restaurant week dinner. Overall great experience. Food was perfectly seasoned but service a little slow in between the second and third course. I was with a friend and we had to stop mid-conversation to realize we had been waiting on our next course for a while. Chicken kebap was a bit dry and came with an extremely burnt onion (probably garnish but still..??) but everything else was good. Decor is beautiful and portions were spot on. I’ll definitely be back in the future to try other things on the menu. Free valet parking is a plus!
Our group of 7 enjoyed the Restaurant week menu. Food was yummy and drinks were delicious
It was a bit noisy inside
Wait staff should inform patrons if they are ordering extremely small portions of food and not just say "are you sure?" when an order is placed. I was surprised by the small I received and when I mentioned it to the waiter, his only response was, "I did ask if you were sure that's all you wanted.".
This was my first visit and while the meager portion of food was good, my overall experience was not. The restaurant was drafty and the hostess was extremely flustered. She was not the best person for that position at noon during restaurant week.
Food was good but service can be better. We had to request a waiter after waiting for about 25 min for a anyone to take our order.
We went to Agora for dinner during Restaurant Week because the Wash Post review was so positive. We compared the Restaurant Week and a la carte prices and did not see the Restaurant Week price as any bargain. The manager did not seem impressed when we gave him our opinion. As for the food, the starter spreads were excellent. Our main courses were Shish Tavuk (a little dry and not very special) and a nice Branzino filet. The deserts were a stuffed apricot and baklava, both tasty. Overall OK, great service, but I would not go out of my way to visit.
We had such a good time at Agora! The food and wine for restaurant week was great! There was a large group in the bar area that was loud. The staff wears understanding, in that we wanted to move to where it was quieter. Once we moved tables, the rest of the night was great! Wonderful food and service! More people need to visit Agora!
This was my first time at the restaurant and I will absolutely be coming back. The food was incredibly delicious and the ambiance was perfect, but more than that, our server Jonathan was simply amazing. He made the experience that much more enjoyable. He gave great suggestions regarding the menu and was very attentive without being intrusive. I had mentioned casually that we were celebrating my friend's birthday, and he surprised her with a little cake at the end. Just a great overall experience and looking forward to the next time!
Waiter was a little forgetful but we loved the food and ambiance and will definitely go back!
Too expensive for what it is... food lacked flavor and taste
The food was ok, the ambiance is fun but the service is awful! I booked a regular table but they sat us in a high table, the server completely forgot us and we had to ask which still took time..very unorganized and slow..
Poor service and below expectations.
Johnathan made our experience here phenomenal!! The food was incredible and the service was delightful.
The server was not attentive. He did not pick up the dishes in a timely manner and a request for water took 5 to 10 minutes.
We had an excellent experience from the very beginning. The service was great. We asked to have our table moved due to a cold draft and they didn’t hesitate to move us. The food and beverages were excellent and the ambiance was great for a date night. We felt like we were in a downtown restaurant because it was so hip. Looking forward to going there again soon!
Have been to the Agora in DC, the food here was equally good, though slightly different menu. Newer facility was nice as well. Complimentary valet parking, nice touch as well.
There was mold in the cheese and we had to return it! Adding some Turkish background music would make the ambiance more relaxing. Also, I suggest hiring more friendly hosts to welcome your customers. The valet is a huge plus! Food is great! Would be. Ice to add to your dessert menu.
Good service and tasty !
Elegant, yet comfy ambiance and decor. Friendly service. A few friends and I went for the unlimited brunch. It did not disappoint. The food comes out very quickly and it’s so yummy. We ate so much. Bring your stretchy pants!
Very good, love food and service
Great food, great service. Loved the ambiance. I would recommend this restaurant & we are going back.
Whoa! There is a big problem in the kitchen that needs fixing. Very poor management. It appears that food is brought out in the order that it appears in the menu. So if one person orders a salad and a flatbread and the second orders two seafood items, then the first person gets everything before the second gets anything. Crazy! This is not the waiter’s fault. He merely brings out what is ready. This is the fault of management.
Superb food, service and ambience. We came for a family dinner during the holidays and Agora did not disappoint. We cannot wait to return!
It was Christmas night so perhaps a caveat. Still, if you don’t have staff, don’t open. We sat down right away even though we were early for our reservation. I appreciated that. Our orders were taken and we ordered a few dishes, keeping the menu to order more. An appetizer came pretty quickly, along with bread and olive oil. We got one round of water and then... that was it. We were basically forgotten for about 45 minutes. We figured something was taking a while and asked for more bread. Never saw another person (others around us were getting food) until the waitress came back to ask how our food was and seemed shocked when we told her we’d gotten one dish. Another 15 minutes or so and we finally got the other dishes which were extremely small. I didn’t want to order additional dishes by that time so we just ate and paid. No apologies from the waitress, no water refills ever (although we asked), and not even a thanks for coming. She seemed as happy to see us leave as we were. I won’t be back.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food. Great place for a date.
Loved the food and once we got the waiter’s attention, he was lovely, but it took a while to get the service started!! They were also out of all the beers we wanted, but the food and wine were delicious .
The restaurant was very loud and not ideal for a date. Food was great!
Always excellent food, service and attentive throughout the meal.
Happy Holidays to all!
Waiter not attentive. No sodas available this day. But good was delicious!
The food was amazing... the decor and atmosphere was very warm and interesting... our server Jonathan delivered a great service... you can’t go wrong with anything from the menu.. definitely get the Mediterranean G&T
the food is good but this is my 3rd or 4th time there and the hostess and some of the waiters always has an attitude. I do not think I am going back.
The service was uneven, the prices a bit high for the market, and it took to long for us to receive the check.
This was a first time visit, for lunch, and I was very impressed. It is a beautiful layout with good space between tables. The food was well prepared and nicely presented. There are lots of menu choices. Excellent homemade pita and spreads. The pricing was reasonable - above your normal lunch, but not expensive, and it was a great place for a business lunch. Valet parking makes it easy to get in and out. A good replacement in this area for the loss of Ten Penh.
We went to Agora for a lunch meeting this week. We were seated rapidly, and our server was very nice and knowledgeable, as well as enthusiastic. We had the lunch special menu, with the sampler of dips, and that was a great value for money! The kitchen did forget the dip sampler, so we had to ask the waiter that came from the kitchen to help us out. That was just a small wrinkle though, and it came right out. The salmon was amazing! Would definitely recommend for lunch.
Delicious variety of food with an attentive server!
Fantastic service and just a great overall experience. Highly recommended.
We had to wait over 10min for our table to be available and that’s after being 10min late for our reservation.
Total wait was over 20min from reservation time to get seated.
Not the best scenario
But food was great and atmosphere too!
