We took some friends to lunch for Australia Day and as usual found everything was great!

Food was great we couldn’t fault it, served quickly. Staff were friendly

Be sure to pre-book online to ensure you can get a seat. Tables by the window provide a great view of the beach and ocean

This has always been a great place to eat. Had great meals today but it is a shame there is no senior's menu. New layout is great but a little noisier due to the floors not carpet.

A good menu where food is well prepared and delivered promptly. Service is good and friendly. The Club is a bit noisy although that reflects its popularity. Value for money is there particularly for family groups or friends. We expect to retun on a regular basis

I found it odd that two lobsters sell for $50 retail although a special at the surf club was half a lobster for $45.

The service and staff can not be faulted.

The staff were amazing but the the menu was pretty boring and not worth the cost. I won’t be coming again until they refresh the menu.

Great food, fast service. I would highly recommend.

Well where do we start. The bar service was amateurish, lack of knowledge on wine. Asked for a gap between entrée and main this was ignored. Seafood Linguine was flavorless, bland, soggy and was virtually inedible and chicken schnitzel was also bland, dry and akin to eating layers of cardboard. Sorry folks first and last time for us-please don't advertise as World Class food-Army Chef standard perhaps.

I was very happy with the venue except our table for 4 was right next to the children’s playroom and they kept banging on the walls. Quite disconcerting and interruptive of our dinner with friends. I asked if we could change tables but the answer was no.

It was a lovely meal. A little noisey for our age group and hearing levels but overall an enjoyable meal.

Good surf club. Service from all staff at bistro and bar excellent, sadly let down by just basic food. Kids cheeseburger adequate, linguine was ok probably 6/10, pretty disappointed in salt and pepper squid salad, more a dry floury batter than seasoned squid plenty of leafy greens to fill the bowl but struggled to find any feta or whatever else was advertised to fill the salad. Was served with no sauce so had to go chase some ailoli. $60 for 3 meals, was expecting slightly better. Staff at the checkin , meal servers and till were very friendly and left a good impression.

Would like to see a more comprehensive cocktail list. The cocktails provided were very ordinary

Called in for lunch, and loved it all. Book ahead for a window seat!

Renovated bistro at Alex is light and beachy. Food and drinks are great.

Food was nice but very pricey for what you get.

Staff were FANTASTIC especially the courtesy bus staff. They couldn’t do enough to help.

The upgrade looks beautiful. Was pretty loud and the pizza was pretty awful but the chips are yummy and the risotto was lovely.

A great place to eat with young children. Colouring-in packs are provided which is so helpful!
Food is delicious, fresh and quick to come out of the kitchen.

Lovely views over the Coral sea and easy to get to the only sort of complaint was that the roast pork was a little dry

Never had a bad meal @ Alex Surf Club. Great meal @ great price ! Can't go wrong.

Unfortunately the roast was dry and the vegetables were overcooked. Very disappointing as has always been so good.

Really relaxed, service staff were all very friendly and efficient. Food was cooked perfectly and came out in the time it took me to order a couple of drinks at the bar.

Would like to see more vegetarian options on menu but overall good

Days before the event, asked for a window table to celebrate my birthday. Only two of us so we didn't get a window table. Very disappointed.

We ordered a entree and it turned up after all the mains were served we ended up having no room on table and we had to ask for container to take away as was unable to eat it

What ever you do, don't get the salt and pepper squid.

I was really happy with the service in the Bistro and the meals were very good. We will be visiting again.

Good honest food at a decent price in a great setting with friendly service.

Welcoming. I had the steak meal and for the price very poor quality meat..change your butcher! Disappointing as I rarely eat steak and was giving myself a birthday treat!! The house red..cab sav wasn't to anyone's liking..change? Overall generous meal serves. Slow to clear table and no interaction nicities, except by the life saver selling raffle tickets, and the lady taking our orders. Liked we only had to use our Club membership to register during this time of covid requests. Not sure why the area seemed so noisy as I had not noticed on previous visits. We did keep to our time allowed and appreciated not being hazzled about it.

A great club, one of the few right on the Beach. Comfortable upstairs and down stairs looking out to the beach and ocean.

Club was very noisy , more work needs to be done on acoustics.

Meals were on the cold side. Chips looked as if they had been cooked many hours beforehand.

Service staff were very professional.
