Always a great place!

Always great food and service. We love the early bird specials. Only wish is that I had asked for lower salt on the food - for those of us who don't like a lot of salt it's really overpowering.

Excellent food and service the waitress we had Carolyn was excellent very attentive and very helpful with the choices we decided. The food was outstanding and the environment of the overall place was on point.

First time back to Alexanders since I left Hilton Head in 2005. Nice quite dinner, food was excellent, waitress was friendly and accomadating. Definitely will go back.

A pleasant place, convenient for those staying in Palmetto Dunes or Shelter Cove, we returned to Alexander's after a long hiatus. A hearty meal can be had while overlooking the pretty lagoon (if dining during daylight hours). The beautifully Christmas decorated rooms offered a festive atmosphere. Wonderful rolls and butter provide the first delightful bites. She-crab soup that followed is amazing. My friend enjoyed the lobster bisque special. I could have ended here and been most satisfied. The special sea bass entree was fresh but its freshness and good flavor was lost in a myriad of accompaniments. Shrimp and grits was typical. Schnitzel was good but unremarkable. The dishes are generally very rich and filling, thus no room for dessert. Service level needs to be elevated. We were seated quickly but then waited and waited for our server to appear. There may have been reasons for this delay, but starting off the evening with excuses is not optimal. At the very least, the manager who may have been aware of the lag, should have come to the table to offer water or drinks or engage in conversation. He did bid us a good evening as we departed.

We have been dining here for 25 years. A few years ago it went downhill but is now offering superior food and service. A bit pricey but not ridiculous. Highly recommended.

Great meal to end our wonderful HHI family adventure! Shrimp and grits was tasty but quite rich. The portion was large so plan for leftovers. The grouper over ratatouille was the special. It was locally caught so fresh and delicious. The Neptune pasta was delicious (compliment coming from an Italian woman), as were the large portions of Weiner Schnitzel. We shared the apple cobbler for dessert and had sides of Brussel sprouts and Cesar salads. Martinis were well made and the wine selection good. The atmosphere is upscale yet relaxed. Our service was impeccable!

We were celebrating our Anniversary. It was the perfect choice. The food was excellent and the wait staff was knowledgeable and professional. We were safely distanced from other dinners and all the staff wore masks correctly. A great restaurant we visit every year while in Hilton Head!

Alexander’s is a beautiful room with great food and service. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was, by far, the best I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a romantic dinner this is the place to go!

The staff at Alexander’s Restaurant is one of our favorite. Menu choices are enough to satisfy anyone! Our favorite appetizer is the calamari, great dipping sauce.

We could not have had a better dining experience!! we travelled in from Atlanta and stayed at the Marriott, Alexander’s was in walking distance to our hotel… And the atmosphere was so beautiful. We sat by the cozy fireplace and enjoy the beautiful decorations, the service was absolutely amazing and the food was delicious, such a delightful experience!

The food and service is always outstanding

This is an incredible place! We went during the Early Bird time (5 - 5:45)--two nights in a row because the service, ambiance, and food/serving size were outstanding! Our only disappointment was that there were so few customers there, most certainly because of Covid times and perhaps nearing the holiday (Dec 22, 23). The staff and management have taken numerous precautions and we so hope more people will be able to benefit from their hard work and commitment to excellence and to our safety.

I booked this restaurant based on the reviews. Horrible mistake! The food was poor quality and terribly prepared. The server was oblivious as to how food should be served. Honestly, it was on the quality scale of a Denny’s restaurant. Don’t waste your money!

Excellent food, drinks and service!

Wonderful service and excellent food — as always! Alexander’s never disappoints and is consistently great - not stuffy or snobby, just perfect southern hospitality. I had the Chilean sea bass special and my husband had the Wiener schnitzel - both were super! It was our anniversary and we were treated to a beautiful and tasty dessert!

Great atmosphere. Staff friendly, service great and food fantastic. Very quiet as not many patrons probably due to Covid .

My husband and I have eaten here before and have loved it. Our meals were not the quality we expected. My lobster tail was undercooked and my husband’s filet mignonette was not what we paid for. The waiter never came back to check on our meals and hardly anyone was in the restaurant. There are so many restaurants to choose from on HH. We will not be back.

Always great food, great service and wonderful people. I would recommend them for any occasion
