   お客様と会食で利用。前回は二階だったので気にならなかったが一階は少し騒がしくて話し声が聞こえないくらい。会食するなら二階のほうがベター。ハマチの冷菜、雲丹の茶碗蒸しはまぁまぁ。お肉は4種類オーダーしてシェア。お肉は和牛ではなくアメリカンビーフ。とても美味しい。ワインが少し高いのでトータルコストが難点。

   火入れ完璧！絶品フィレステーキ！ 最近日本にも進出したというこのお店、あわゆるアメリカ的なステーキ屋（ウルフギャングとか）かと思いきや、注文したフィレステーキの火入れは日本でも味わえないほど繊細で完璧。大胆な味付け（大雑把とも言える）と肉のボリュームの迫力で勝負するタイプでは決してない。 ステーキメニューにはWAGYU（和牛）が推されていたが、ぜひアメリカンビーフのフィレステーキを試してみてほしい。 客に日本人は他にいなかったものの、日本人に好まれる味付けになっていると思う。 雰囲気はラグジュアリー。記念日のバースデープレートも見受けられたので、やはりある程度は特別感のある日に訪れたいレストランなのだろう。 ひとりで食事していたからか、スタッフは通りかかるたびに話しかけてくれて愛嬌もたっぷり。デザートはスタッフの熱弁により思わずオススメののスフレを注文してしまったほどである。 ワインの品揃えも豊富で、もちろんカリフォルニアワインをチョイスしてもらった。 前菜1品、ステーキ1品、デザート1品、ワイン2杯で160ドルほど。 コスパは決して良くないが、旅行の思い出になるであろうことは保証できる気持ちのいい店だった。

   The menu has shrunk considerably. The server was great. The food was very good, with the notable exception of my porterhouse steak, which was overcooked on the inside (medium, not medium-rare) and anemic on the outside (pale, no crust). It looked like it was cooked on a grill that was not hot enough and for too long.

   We reserved for the Valentine’s experience that’s costs $200 per person for a 5-course tasting. When we arrived, the host tells us they’re behind. They had us wait at the bar where we ordered drinks that never arrived until we we were finally seated at our table an hour later. The ambiance was not it. We were seated in what seemed like a basement wine cellar. It was very chilly. The seats were not comfortable at all and we sat there for the entirety 3 hours of the experience because the kitchen was very backed up. When the dishes arrive, we were famished from the wait time. We sat there for 3 hours for 5 dishes that occasionally arrived cold. They were still delicious, I am sure when they’re served hot - they probably tasted even better. While the food was still yummy when serve semi-cold (my steak) at Alexander’s Steakhouse, I will never come back because this event showed me that they were only interested in booking as many customers as they can possibly fit in the restaurant while providing inadequate service. I should’ve stayed home, at least I can serve a hot meal.

    We had been wanting to try this spot for sometime, but being on the other side of town, we finally made the effort. The atmosphere feels a bit stark and the band a bit loud, but love the “industrial” look of the interior for a steakhouse. We opted for the “ala cart” menu however felt the portions we small for the price. Don’t get me wrong, they were divine, however small and pricey. They bone-in filet for 2 also felt smaller than 12oz…but was cooked to perfection! Don’t miss the Miyatake mushrooms and mashed potatoes.

    I understood that being a high end restaurant it was never going to be a cheap meal, but prices were really up there. Only potato side was a truffled mash at $36 in a small bowl. I’m gluten free and they had no potato or bread options for me. To be fair the steak was excellent, appetizers tasty but tiny. Had a very nice meal, but ouch, take a big wallet.

    Really good service - very attentive and detailed Amazing food - we enjoyed the ribeye and new york strip. The mashed potatoes are delicious, as is there bread and house-made butter, hamachi shot was excellent!

    Sometime you give yourself permission to splurge a little and enjoy a romantic dinner out. Everything on the menu looked so good, we are glad we chose The Chef’s Hitachi Menu, a 9 course meal definitely to tantalize your taste buds. Our favorites were Hitachi Shot, Beef Tartare, Uni Toast, Striped Bass, and the highlight of the night the wagu strip. Something so delicious and tender, it meats the minute you put it in your mouth. Half way through the meal, I had visions of the Chef Ralph Fiennes coming into the kitchen and everyone yelling, “Yes Chef!”. Each plate was a visual and palate adventure. Service that night was impeccable and our wait staff were tentative to our needs. We will be back. And thank you for a memorable night.

    Unfortunately the wait staff was not very knowledgeable about food preparation and the wine list. Both our steaks were way overcooked and the quality and taste of the meat was also very poor. On top of that, the staff only offered to replace one of our steaks. It was a very disappointing (and expensive) dinner to say the least.

    As a steak enthusiast, i was expecting better quality at those price points. Waiter was pretty pushy and rude entire time trying to get us to buy more sides and drinks when we didn’t want any and would not stop. My ribeye was decent but the glaze was way too strong and was hard to eat entire steak. My wife’s filet was similar.

    Great food at reasonable SF prices but a little too noisy yet service was fantastic they did not come too often so we could have a nice dinner (I don’t like when the servers come every 2 min asking if the food was good… :) )

    If wanting an American style steakhouse, this is not the place. Very unique menu with a lot of Asian influence. The wine list has a lot off choices although very expensive. Staff was fantastic.

    wow what an amazing dining experience, we have been coming every year for the past 5 years , our first alexander’s experience was completely amazing and we base all of our fine dining from that particular one , this time it ranks in the top 3 only behind alexander’s steakhouse and gordon ramsay’s hell’s kitchen , i can’t say enough about reuben and staff , 5 stars for everyone , thank you for the amazing christmas dinner and see you again next year

    Food quality is excellent but the prices are ridiculous. Service is also very good but the place is freezing cold and there is apparently no solution except these silly space heaters spread around. Disappointed

    Winter truffle pasta was sooooooooo salty. We frequent the Cupertino Alexander’s Steakhouse and it is generally much more consistent and better than the SF one.

    Dining room was freezing cold. We were all eating our winter coats and so were guests at most other tables. It was a cold winter night and they said “we know. It’s the windows”. Kind of crazy for what was a $400 / head dinner. Over priced for what it is. Wouldn’t recommend.
