   Took my friend out for her birthday, and we had the best experience! The Vietnamese food from Friendship Kitchen is to die for! Steak Frites and Sizzling Beef were the favorite. We paired it with a few wines, because this place has the best wine list and we couldn’t resist, but the best pair was the Orange Bordeaux. 10/10 recommend

   My partner and I have been in love for 5 years. We have been on dates all over the world.. Paris, San Francisco, Napa Valley, all over Portland, and this was by far the best date we have ever had. My partner and I came for my birthday during their Monday Night Friendship Kitchen collab! The entire experience was absolutely phenomenal. The Washington sparking wine was divine and my beef pho melted perfectly in my mouth. The flavors were impeccable. My partner and I walked in and immoderately felt at peace. All of the workers greeted us with kind smiles and open arms. They all LOVE atheist customers and will make you feel like Royal!!! I feel blessed to be part of the Alouette/ Friendship Kitchen family!

   It’s a very small little restaurant. We went during the viet-thai menu and everything was delicious! The pho was some of the best I’ve had and the French pho was so delicious and tasted like my beef stew in a pho. The cocktails were one of the highlights of the night. So expertly crafted! Yum! We will definitely come again!

   The food was nice but portions quite small (I’m a 60 year old woman and wasn’t full after 3 courses). Waitstaff we’re pleasant and accommodating but very slow and seemed to not know what they were doing. Minimal non alcoholic beverage choices, nice wine and cocktail list.

   Had the best time sitting at the bar with a friend here. The service was spectacular and the cocktails were on point. I had the Avalanche (tasted like cotton candy in the best way) and the Espressos Martini. My favorite dishes of the night was the Duck and roasted veggies! The flavors are so unique, fresh, and cook exquisitely. Thank you chef and Alouette team!

   really nice servers and ambience. However two of our theee main dishes were lukewarm. not sure why- there was a long wait between salad and mains. food was very goos- brief but interesting menu. we will be back!

    Intimate place that has potential. They seemed very under staffed. If you want to really experience the food friendship kitchen has to offer, I recommend going to their main location.

    My family and I went to Alouette for the Friendship Kitchen x Alouette Sunday brunch for my fathers birthday and it was Phenomenal 🤍 The food was great, the service was attentive, and we will be back. Highly recommend checking out the Sunday brunch and Alouette’s weekly menu.

    Excellent food and atmosphere. The four of us shared a variety of small plates and I had the steak entree. Everything was delicious. Very small portions, but when a few are shared it’s a filling meal. The dining room itself is gorgeously decorated in a plum red with robins egg blue - very tasteful and chic. The cocktails were well thought out and bougie- just like I like. We will be back!

    Alouette is truly one of a kind and one of the most gorgeous spaces I’ve ever dined in at. When I first walked in I was absolutely stunned by how beautiful it was, then I was greeted with such warmth and kindness from our server. We got seated right away: the food was THE BEST Vietnamese-French food I’ve ever had, so unique and the flavors were all on point. I was blown away… from the beginning to the end i was extremely impressed by their hospitality. Everything was absolutely perfect and this is now my new favorite restaurant ever! Portland needs this so much and I’m so happy Alouette is here. Can’t wait to take everyone here and show them!

    I made a reservation over a month ago for NYE and was so excited to try this restaurant with our friends. The ambiance, unique looking drinks, and menu all looked to die for. I had been looking forward to the steak they had on the menu all week, and was reminiscent of my times in Paris. However, when we showed up, the waiting staff was very off putting and didn’t seat us until well after our reservation. Our party sat at the bar and were in no hurry, but we were not even acknowledged. While I understand NYE can bring another level of stress, I would have liked for the bartender to at least apologize for the wait and that she’d be with us momentarily. She instead met us with a snarky comment that was less than inviting. It honestly made our party feel like we were unwelcome there. When we finally were seated, there was not enough water to go around. Our server at the table was incredibly kind, but the whole experience was less than desirable. As we were flipping through the menu, we were given no notice that the dinner would be prix fixe in our reservation. There went my opportunity for my steak that I had been wanting for the last month. Not to mention, the prix fixe menu was more than double what was listed for pricing on their website. I feel most badly for our friends who were not anticipating the bill price. Previously this holiday season, I went to a nice steak house in Portland with six people and our dinner bill was less expensive than what we paid for at the Alouette for four. Overall, I’m disappointed in the experience. The lack of communication, overpriced meal, and long wait time are all things I could have gone without had I known that’s what our time would have encompassed. I would have rather made something at home. Also worth mentioning, I tried calling twice on the day of our reservation to ask about corkage fees and was sent directly to their voicemail which was either not set up for full.

    More than disappointed with our New Year’s Eve dinner. First off, no where on the website or when we made our reservation did it say that we would be getting a pre fixe menu. This review would be three pages, but let’s make a long story short. Food was under seasoned, entree was severed cold, crust on dessert was burned, second and third course were essentially the same (both topped with undressed arugula straight from the bag)… all plates lacked imagination. The only stand out was the seared scallops with beurre blanc made with xantham gum. Also a neighborhood French bistro there should be a firm grasp on how to make pomee purée and not serve lumpy cold mashed potatoes. I can go on and on, but service was also a mess. NOTHING ABOUT THE TOTAL DINING EXPERIENCE WAS WORTH $300. The the decor was the only saving grace to the night!

    Everything was exciting except all the food came out luke warm. However, the flavors were delicious and the service was outstanding!

    The hostess was somewhat difficult because we were 10 minutes late for our reservation. However there were 3 empty tables so her fuss was all for nothing. That being said, we enjoyed our meal here. The flavors were excellent. The lighting is a bit low as I am someone who likes to see what I'm eating.

    My husband and I came to Alouette for a nice date night; the ambiance was nice and romantic, the restaurant is cozy and very cute. Cocktails were very nice, we tried the wing over and the patty Wagstaff. The food was good, unfortunately every dish came very slowly one at a time. The jicama salad was nice, different. The turnips were pretty spicy and would’ve been a great side to the hanger steak which came out about 12 minutes later. The patè was pretty tasty, the portion on the croquettes was a bit small. We never got our mushroom tartine because our server did not write down our order and forgot all together to put it in, so we moved on to dessert. Unfortunately the creme brûlée didn’t taste like anything and the custard was broken. Had the server been a little more on top of it we definitely would’ve order a couple more cocktails.

    We were fortunate to be able to dine during the Friendship Kitchen and Alouette collaboration on Sundays. The servers and staff were very friendly and welcoming. We both ordered the sizzling beef plate served on a hot cow plate. The taste was delicious and the meat was tender. Definitely felt like an upscale version of the ones served back in Vietnam. I would definitely recommend trying out this brunch collaboration while it’s running!

    We tried 4 different brunch dishes and the favorites were the pho and the carpaccio. All were good but these stood out. I would definitely go back and try other dishes.

    Delicious! I recently went on a double date here and it was a great experience as the menu is more small/share plates! We ordered almost everything on the menu and everything was "wow material" (I would highly recommend the olive oil cake dessert!) I will definitely be back!

    Lovely, small bistro setting with a very tasteful menu. Have had dinners there plus the recent Sunday brunch (the Vietnamese-French fusion). Always great service. It's a "keeper" on my dining list.
