Amalfi Pizza - Atlanta
Food and atmosphere were awesome. Service wasn't great but not terrible...so just OK I guess.
They were out of emu items, however their fried risotto balls were amazing!!!
Worst service I've received in a while. They didn't bring menus, water, or even greet us at our table. After 15 minutes of waiting for any of those things, and seeing two tables seated after us with water and already placing their orders, I got up to say something. I had to get up and ask 3 different employees for help until someone finally came over. Then I asked for a manager. She barely apologized and didn't even offer anything for the inconvenience. They also said they were running out of dough for the pizza. Aren't you a pizza place??? We finally placed our orders. The meatballs were very good, but waaay overpriced and tiny. The pizzas were eh. Edible. Good? No. We liked the ambiance and the Italian music playing. Then the manager brought us cannolis to make up for the inconvenience, but she only brought two when there were three of us. Also, I don't like chocolate and they were chocolate chip cannolis. I wish she would have asked what we'd like or at least just comp our appetizer. Never coming back here again. There are way better places to eat in Atlanta. Don't waste your time with this one.
Had reservations and took over an hour for food (two pizzas). Took a long time to get the check after asking for it.
Amalfi was pretty busy due to the publix marathon the next day but we had reservations and was seated on time. The atmosphere is really cool with the high ceilings and beams along with really cool chandeliers. The menu had a variety and the food was delicious. Our waiter had a lot of tables and had to be called over a couple times to get what we needed but it wasn’t too much of an issue. Overall it was a great experience.
Wonderful waitress, a bit noisy, good food, although one of our meals came a lot later than all the rest. Bench cushions needed replacement. Would definitely return!🙂
The Cigar shop below the restaurant makes the whole restaurant smell of cigar smoke. The lighting and table settings are intended to look like a fancy restaurant but all of it looks and feels cheap like an Italian restaurant you go to at an all inclusive resort or on a cruise. Peeling plastic menus. Pizza is average and appetizers were not very good.
Tristian was awesome
We didn’t get to eat because they ran out of dough for the pizza crust
Best pizza in Atlanta.
Great service, amazing PIZZA! Apps and salads super as well.
Terrible food. Worst pizza I’ve ever had.
The taste of the pizzas are awesome, all the environment makes you feel like you were on Italy; excellent service and good prices. The only thing that we didn’t like it, was that we perceived a little smell like a cigar in some moments
Very BAD service! WORST I’ve ever had.
Amazing pizza with out of this work crusts, great tiramisu. Bruschetta was good but VERY garlicky. Salads and pastas good as well.
The set-up is nice in that the noise level is not so bad that you can actually have a conversation at your table. Really cool old building with exposed beams and brick.
Service was polite and friendly but not very attentive. We had a group of five and two of the meals came a good 10-15 minutes prior to the others. Did not check back very often for refills etc.
Nice establishment and great service. We had pasta which was a little overdone and slightly too much liquid. All in all though we enjoyed the meal. Pizza seemed popular.
Had reservation for 8:15 got seated one hour later
Limited menu. No soups, only 3 salads and few pastas.
The waitress brought the draft beer I ordered in a dirty glass. It took quite awhile for her to come back so I could tell her. She did replace the beer but left the full dirty glass on our table for our entire meal
It was great
Very well run and organized restaurant during the busy market season. Always a pleasure and wonderful food!
Pizza is really good. Be sure the book the table before going.
Food was great but our reservation was for 7:30 and the table wasn’t ready until 8:30... service was a bit slow but they were busy.
Caesar salad was extra delicious, dinner size was much better & larger than the dinner-size I paid more than double for the night before in a nearby restaurant. I did not particularly care for the rigatoni dish, dry & not much flavor although my friend enjoyed it. The tiramisu was quite good.
Arrived a little early for our reservation and was seated promptly. Our server was Christen and she was wonderful. Wanted to try the fried risotto as an appetizer but no risotto. Both entrees were very good. Rigatoni with chicken and shrimp with angel hair pasta.
Definitely a yes for our next trip
Arrived and said we had no reservation
After showing them our Open Table confirmation, we were seated. It’s been many years since we have encountered a server with such a poor attitude
Finally took our order and after 20 minutes our salads arrived, then the appetizer
After being there 60 minutes we approached our server to check on our pizza, she left and never returned. We then got someone else attention, who was the GM
He apologized and within 5 minutes the pizza arrived
The GM said we could choose a dessert, but our server gave us no choice and later brought out a plate of tiramisu and plopped it on the table along with bill- still the poor attitude persisted
We promptly paid and left
It was amazing to see the line of people waiting for a table
We will not be returning, no matter how good the food is and it is good! Sad, because they do have a unique spin on pizza and salads
Great food and service. Never a dissappointment. Can't wait till the next visit!
Poor service, overcooked (burnt) pizza that would not have been very good even if cooked properly, and dirty dishes and cutlery. Overall a very subpar experience with no redeeming or memorable qualities. This place has a lot of work to do.
Very busy night. Claimed they stopped honoring ion table reservations at 5:00 pm but didn’t let people know. Eventually got in but robot at hostess station was almost in shock. Food was average — arancine bland. Meat toppings for pies very good.
Made reservations via OpenTable. When showed up they said would be over an hour wait AFTER we made reservation. We were told since we made our 9pm reservation after 5:30 “cutoff”, they were just adding us to the list of people waiting on a table. The reservation via OpenTable was useless!!!
Restaurant didn’t honor our reservation and shouldn’t be allowed on Open Table.
They did not acknowledge my OpenTable confirmation. I drove miles to get there, paid $10 for parking, and they told me to be an hour and a half wait. They did not care that I had an open table confirmation number and we’re not willing to serve unless I was willing to wait.
Our waitress and hostesses were incredible, they just seemed short staffed for a Friday night during the holidays and it drastically affected seating people on time. We weren’t seated until an hour after our reservation. However the staff was kind enough to offer us a complimentary drink while we waited, which was so thoughtful, and the food and ambiance was lovely! We would love to return ASAP and recommend to everyone.
Our server Tristin(spelling?) was great. We had a large party, 14. Everything came out fine. No one complained about any of the food. We did everything from appetizers, salads, drinks, pizza/pasta's and desserts. They were great to have lunch at this location. I would go again.
Pizza was fantastic, prices were good, enjoyed ourselves for the 90min we were there.
Con - WWE playing on awkwardly placed TV’s on a intimate Friday night setting, definitely a curveball.
Big Con - Service was just terrible. Unprofessional and lazy. Thankfully we wanted to be left alone so it didn’t matter much but was heavily underwhelming.
CC was a great, engaging server who truly made the experience.
Horrible experience! My partner and I had reservations to celebrate our anniversary. I had said through Open Table this was a special anniversary and would appreciate a great seat if possible. We show up on time and are greeted with smells of chlorine and cigars. We walk up the stairs and wait for somebody to greet us. Not one employee smiled throughout our short experience. I tell the hostess we had reservations for our anniversary and she says “Alright you want a booth or table.” I was taken away that she was so short with me, but I said a booth is fine. We saw bugs flying near the kitchen as we walked to our table. We sat at the table for 5-10 minutes, only to be poured water. No hello, welcome, or smiles from any employees. I was furious because this was starting to ruin our celebration, but we got up and left and had a marvelous meal and experience at ALMA Cocina across the street.
Also, I called the next day to mention it to the manager to see what went wrong. We were open to giving them another chance. I was told the general manager would call me back, but he didn’t for 4 days. Just today I got a voice mail from the general manager, and he could not have been more passive aggressive. He was very accusatory about me calling the restaurant “several times” (I called 3 times because they kept telling me he would call me back.) His tone was extremely unprofessional and appeared to place the blame on me - the customer that was let down.
Overall, this was a miserable experience and I will never give them another chance. Would not recommend this place to anyone - ESPECIALLY not for a special occasion.
