Ambassador Dining Room

The Ambassador is a gem. We loved our food, the service, and the ambiance. One of our favorite date night spots in the city.

Our visit was enjoyable. The setting is wonderful and the staff attentive and helpful. Keep up the good work.

Please try this neighborhood gem! Lovely, lovely outdoor setting, with fireplaces and heat lamps. I had heard from acquaintances lamenting that "it just wasn't the same" (i.e. as good) as when the previous owners were at the helm...I disagree! The food was outstanding and, unlike during previous ownership, when you ask for it spicy, it comes out spicy--the new chef is not afraid to honor your request! I always got the impression that the previous owners were afraid to make things spicy for fear of disappointment or complaint. Not so any longer--delicious, flavorful, right amount of heat. The lunch special is a great way to try their menu--the garlic naan is the best! Service was spot on, just the right amount, not overly attentive, which can be bothersome. We will be heading back there soon!

It was me and my husband first time eating @ Ambassador Dining Room I can say the ambience was nice and the food met our expectations. We will dine here again.

Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan, Samosas...all were divine.

We have not been going out because of CoVID and it was our anniversary and really wanted to go. This is one of our favorite places and they offer outdoor dining so we thought we would try. We were so thrilled to find it felt very safe and they took all precautions seriously. The food was amazing, the wait staff was top notch and the ambiance you can’t beat. I would definitely recommend this and I will be going back.

Wonderful decor, attentive staff, even management engaged with the clientele. The food is exquisite, tasty, intriguing, fresh/clean & balanced.

The food, atmosphere, covid-sensitivity and service were all good. I don’t recommend the shrimp adrak (ashrak?) but otherwise the food was delicious. We’d go back. It’s a very pretty place.

This is good solid Indian food. They have done a very good job of using their patio for outdoor dining with lots of space between tables. The patio itself is lovely and makes for a pleasing setting. We used to go there all the time for their Sunday brunch buffet but ... alas ... no more. Service is excellent.

I saw that the Ambassador was still having outside dining and so I jumped on the chance to visit one of my old favorites. The Ambassador is one of the most consistent, wonderful experiences of Baltimore dining. The food was amazing as always and even with a heavy downpour, the rain only made the experience more romantic.

Definitely the best setting for outdoor dining in Baltimore. Food is delicious, and service is great. I was disappointed they didn't have chai to go with my dessert, but they did just re-open! My friend and I had a wonderful time.

An Indian restaurant in a discreet apartment building with quality food from all regions of India . The whole fish was fried perfectly and sauces correctly . The shrimp were jumbo and wild .the NaN was delicious , with the right amount of char and crispness and the tandoor appetizers were spot on . Be brave and order it spicy as that’s how Indian food should be had . The outdoor dining was spacious and well appointed . Three cheers Ambassador . Keep it up . Baltimore needs you

First time visit under new ownership, not very crowded, but the food was as good as I remember!

Sadly, our meal and service wasn’t close to our past experiences under the new management. We waited 30 minutes before anyone came to our table. The food was mediocre and one entree had to be returned. They brought out our meals and tried to place on table without removing any of our dirty appetizer dishes. Very disappointing experience. Seemed overwhelmed and way under staffed. Empty tables and a line of waiting customers out the door. We hope they figure it out because it is a beautiful restaurant with a great reputation.

We left after waiting for our food for one hour and not getting anything. The food is heavily over-priced- each entree is served on a plate with a rice and a salad (good to know, not like other places where you get a big bowl of the entree and a bowl of rice.

The Ambassador Dining Room is usually a 10 but last night it was a 1.5. Not sure what’s going on but the main courses were barely edible. The shrimp dish we ordered at $28.95 were way overcooked hard and chewy. The chicken tiki masala was also overcooked hard and chewy. They brought us rice pudding and took a drink off the bill but the rice pudding was not good and left on the table after one taste. Spoke to a couple of gentlemen in the lobby after they finished their meal and they echoed our concerns. Use caution before dining here as something has changed for the worse and the prices are very unreasonable.

We have been patrons of The Ambassador over the years but have not been there since the change in ownership. We are now raving; the service and the food were exceptional; better than before! Highly recommended.
