Amber Grill - Holiday Inn - Stevens Point

Booked online a reservation and upon arrival the hostess looked at us blankly, didn't have it written down as if it want checked and was rude to send us away without anything. Reservation app apparently doesn't work. It was unacceptable how it was handled.

It was just bar food.

Great wait staff, food okay. A nice variety, on the menu. Ambiance is appropriate.

French fries were cold, soup was cold, onion rings were really greasy, could not eat them. It will be a while before we go back.

Restaurant is VERY nice as far as ambiance and the bar is great. Service was very very good. The only problem was the food - it was completely forgettable. Chicken parmesan was bland and rather tough and the pasta sauce was really bad and way too much of it. The steaks (ribeye) were nothing great and there was no soup or salad or rolls offered. And the forks are big enough to catch a wildebeest with. Glad we tried it, but would not be back for dinner.

I reserved a table online, when I got there and mentioned that I had a reservation they did not have it on their chart(hand written one) so I was not sure if they ever saw my request. the place was not full so we had no problems getting seated but if they are not checking the e reservations it could be a problem.

The fish fry- beaded cod- was a very thick breading. What was supposed to be pan-fried cod was just baked. Beans and potatoes were cold. 2 other tables sitting near us were waiting on their food for over 40 minutes. One table just left. Disappointing. Used to be one of our favorite stops.

Great experience and food was good

Fish fry was not nearly as good as it used to be. Eau gratin potatoes were not done and fish was in deep fryer too long. Happy hour and senior discount are nice.

Amber Grill was a good geographic location for my lunch meeting with a colleague. The staff was very attentive to our special needs and the food was delicious !
