Ambra Italian Kitchen + Bar - MGM Grand
Excellent food, wine, and service (thanks, Dave). A great choice for dinner after the show.
It was my daughters birthday and because we love Italian we chose Ambra. It was the perfect spot and because they knew we were celebrating, we were given a private clam shell table overlooking the entire restaurant! We shared and chose the carbonara. The homemade pasta was to die for! Cooked to perfection and totally filling. I was not disappointed. It was also nice to be served by someone who just knew our tastes. I wonder if it was because it was a woman ); I truly recommend Ambra for any occasion or just for a dinner away from the crowds.
The food was horrible. Lasagna was dry, tasted like bad hospital food. Speakeasy was a joke. We had anticipated a nice cocktail and atmosphere, no bartender, we had to ask a waitress to come in to take our order then they brought the drinks from elsewhere despite an amazing looking bar. Very disappointing given the high competition for amazing restaurants in Vegas. The only positive is the server who was nice and manager who was sympathetic and comped the horrible lasagna. However, we should have been paid to endure such a horrible experience. Unless they make big changes this place should and will die quickly.
The staff and atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing! The only downside was the food. I had the Veal Chop that was cooked to medium (which was perfect) but the meat was luke warm. My wife's was pasta was chewy and overall to salty. I would definitely go back again but try something different on the menu.
Amazing experience overall. The food and atmosphere was beyond what we expected.
Excellent restaurant for a group. We had 6 in our party. They took reservation, had a lovely round table ready for us. The waiter was attentive and help with great menu suggestions
The worst food I’ve ever eaten in Vegas! My spinach lasagna was dry and overcooked. Our waiter left mid meal. No one checked on us and server took my half eaten meal away before I could say anything! Had to wait forever for our bill. The restaurant was not busy at all as we were there early 6pm. I would not recommend this restaurant at all!
Wonderful service. Great dishes, but not too much food. Very nice ambience and decor. Great to eat there before seeing a show.
From the food to the service this entire experience was fantastic! Between our group we got 5 entrees, 2 pastas, 3 appetizers & 2 desserts & didn’t have a single complaint about anything!
I am a retired Las Vegas Strip Concierge with 15 years of experience, and have dined in literally hundreds of Las Vegas restaurants. I took my lady friend to dinner at Ambra for Valentine's Day after seeing Cirque, KA. It was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. First, they seated us at a table facing the kitchen entrance. Secondly, it was extremely cold in the restaurant. Next, the menu was the prix fixe, but they could not offer all that was on it? The size of the portions were tiny (enough for a children's portion), despite the enormous price per item. The entrees were barely warm when we received them, and with the cold temp of the restaurant, they were cold almost immediately. Lastly, during my Concierge career, I have booked restaurants for guests thousands of times. I would never recommend Ambra to any of my guests. I personally will never dine there again.
Service was impeccable! Food was delicious. I'd highly recommend this restaurant in the MGM Grand in Vegas.
Great restaurant in a good location. The food was tasty - plenty for the two of us with bread an appetizer a salad and good sized dinner portions.
Food and service was great but food was definitely overpriced.
Bolognese is 🔥🔥🔥
The food was awful. Not edible. The seafood tower came out frozen and tasted like it had been doused with vinegar. The pasta came out hard as if it was previously cooked and put in the oven to re-heat. The noise level was so high, no one could hear each other speak severely limiting conversation.
Quality of the food is just horrible. Like other reviews the service was poor. I asked how much was a high end bourbon and the response was "to much". I would not book an evening at this restaurant you will be sadly disappointed
Fantastic food. Large portions. Great service.
We had reservations at 7:45 before the show, but weren't seated until close to 8:15 so it made it a little rushed.
Food was mediocre and service was terrible. Our server was rude and dismissive. My feeling was that he was irritated that we didn't order alcohol. We hardly saw him at all. The food is very overpriced for the taste. I had the spaghetti, my friend had ravioli, and my other friend had the lobster pasta. Again, it wasn't terrible food but for the price we expected much more. We had much better food at every other restaurant that we went to.
Squash blossom - thin skin filled with 3 TBS of white glop
Lasagna was torched so that top layer resembled a burned rectangle of cardboard. Sauce, only at bottom of the dry stack, was good.
Caprese salad - ice cold tomato slices surrounding a dollop of bursts. Very little flavor; no imagination
Very good italian food, the lobster spaghetti diavola are highly recommanded
It was a busy night, but after several issues, there was just no excuse for the experience that was had dining here. To kick things off, the server had no knowledge of wine and when asked about a bottle flat out said "I don't know" and did not offer to go ask anyone else. Then she brought the wrong bottle of wine.
Before ordering, I informed the server of a seafood and nut allergy and asked what dishes should be avoided. Grilled zucchini was ordered as a side. Another server drops off the food and places down the "grilled zucchini with capers and anchovy". When our server returned I asked her what was in the zucchini and if there was anchovy. She said oh are you allergic to all seafood, I think it has a fish sauce? Needless to say the zucchini was not eaten and she didn't even bother to offer to take it off the bill.
After finishing the meal we sat at the table for a good 20 minutes before she ever came back to see if we wanted anything else or the bill. Overall the food was just okay and the service was awful. Not one I'll be going back to.
Reservations don’t mean much here. We checked in and waited in line 20 mins to get seated in a very crowded, loud area at an undersized table by rude and snobby hostess. Food was fantastic. Waiter was decent. Bus boys are overly eager to clear plates. It’s expensive but we expected that given its on the vegas strip.
Ordered family style for a combination of American and Asian guests… The Branzino was fantastic, chicken Parm and several pasta dishes were all very good. Reasonably priced good service and great flavors, will recommend and will come back!
A bit surprised by their limited menu regarding entrees and pasta dishes and no port wine. Be aware that anchovies are used in several dishes but not specified other than “not vegan.” Fantastic service and comfortable seating, music fairly loud. Food was good, but for the amount spent, there are far better places in Las Vegas.
The food was excellent. The service was fantastic and very attentive. Considering what I ate, I felt this place was a little over-priced. But it's Las Vegas dining in a high-class resort; so we should expect higher prices. I'm looking forward to coming back with some friends.
We chose Ambra Italian Kitchen to celebrate a friend's birthday. Excellent choice for a relaxing meal. Thanks Ambra for being part of our Vegas memories
Just looking for a good place for dinner and it was way better than anything we had had for three days prior
Went on New Years; service was awful and food was mediocre. Waited 45 minutes for the appetizers, sure wish Fiamma was still there
My wife and i made reservations at this restaurant for after the Michael Jackson ONE show. We arrived 1/2 half hour early and the hostess was very accommodating and sat us within 5 minutes. My wife and I started off with the meatballs and Caesar salad. The salad was good but the Meatballs were to die for and highly recommended. I ordered the Taglitelle bolognese and my wide with Spaghetti Pomodoro. These were fantastic. I recommend if you want extra sauce you better order it when you order your meal as they make the sauce when they make the dish. They do not have a pot of sauce to scoop from.
Our serving team was Erika and Joseph. These two were very attentive and had just the right touch points. They were not overwhelming and gave great recommendations for dishes and also provided guidance based on their questions and our answers (i.e. do you like spicy, etc.).
I highly recommend this restaurant
Delicious! Would definitely come back again. Great drinks and food.
The menu was limited. I expressed dissatisfaction with my meal and our server ignored me. I've never been to a restaurant that didn't try to make a customer satisfied.
Wow. They were out of drink mixes for the drinks on the menu. All we got was a "sorry." My dinner, chicken parmesan, was burned. Blech. I recommend you go somewhere else.
Food was good. Service slow, waiteress got mad when wanted separate checks....the place is nice, wasn’t busy probably due to service
This was our first time here. We shared the meatball appetizer which was very good and the lobster spaghetti which was also good. At over $40 for the spaghetti, the portion was skimpy, with respect to the lobster and the pasta. At that price, it should have been a huge portion and it was not. Next time we are at MGM, we will go back to Wolfgang Puck nearby for equally good food at a more reasonable price. It is not as fancy but that is ok with us.
Yummy food however small menu and not a lot of variety. Not many options for vegetarians.
Sorry. Second trip to this restaurant. First was excellent beginning to end. This time server was rushed and unfocused. Continually cut my order off. Told us that we were ordering too much food, wrong food, etc. I. Won't leave the server's name here but if the management would like up know they can contact me for details. Food was awesome.
Chicken parm was great. Pasta - the reason we came - was terrible. Somehow mushy and al denté at the same time.
An exceptional meal and great service. The Chefs menu allows for a nice smattering - however it’s a vulgar amount of food (tremendous value though, for Vegas). My dining companion, who is a well travelled eater, noted his veal Marsala was likely the single best dish he has ever consumed.
Terrific ambiance and great food
Ambra Italian Kitchen & Bar is an excellent restaurant with delicious food and great service. Located conveniently in the MGM Casino. To start with the bread basket is warm, fresh, filled with flavor and a choice of Italian or Focaccia breads.
The Beet and arugula salad is fair and fresh but the overwhelming bitterness of the arugula mask the sweet beets which are few and scarcely included. On the other hand, the Macaroni al ragu is amazingly fresh with housemade pasta and Ragu Bolognese that is flavorful but not overwhelming.
Though the pasta is one of the best in Vegas, the highlight of the meal was the Ambra Cake with Italian Meringue imbedded in a Vanilla Cake. So tender, so tasty, sweet but no overbearingly so. One of the best Desserts on the Strip!
Ambra Italian Kitchen is an upscale restaurant that strives to be hip and offers a variety of great Italian Food without the Celebrity Chef Marketing. They stand strong on their food and the great service that is offered. Everyone from the Hostess, to the server, to the individuals who bus the tables all work as a cohesive unit and always greets it's patrons with a smile.
My one major complaint is the E.D.M. music playing in the background. A bit intrusive to the digestive process. Though it's presence is understood, as mentioned Ambra tries to project and attract a young, hip atmosphere.
Overall, Ambra is a great restaurant with good food, great service and I look forward to trying the calamari upon my next visit.
