Roasted Lemon Potatoes
Fantastic food, ambience, service, outdoor dining.
We’ve been here two other tine
Everything was delicious, service was excellent, we will definitely be back to Amylos for dinner!
The service was horrid, we left before ordering entrées because the waitor never came and checked on us/ took our order after we finished our appetizers.
Really good food.
Get the octopus appetizer! It was superb. As was the cheese dish!
We very much enjoyed our experience. Service was outstanding and our server and other staff were very friendly. Food was delicious. A huge thanks to the cooks who prepared it. Will visit again.
Our waiter, Paños, was very pleasant.
The food was fine, the ambiance was fine also. Service was a little slow however. I waited and waited for our bill to be picked up at the end of the meal. Finally, I went up to the front desk and asked if I could pay the bill there.
The service was amazing and the food came out so fast!
This was our second visit to Amylos and both have been great. Upscale, not stuffy, great food and service. More traditional Greek than one might expect, but the appetizers, dips and mains(especially lamb) were spot on. Highly recommended for family or friends gatherings.
FANTASTIC, authentic Greek restaurant in Astoria! From cocktails, through meze, and on to mains and dessert, we were wow'd by everything we ate and drank at Amylos! And if you're new to Greek dining, the enthusiastically friendly staff will be happy to help you make some wonderful choices. We started with the charred octopus on a bed of fava puree, and it was the best we've ever had. We also did a sampling of spreads, all of which were delicious. My partner chose the lamb shank in dark ale, and I had the slow roasted lamb with traditional lemon potatoes. Both were delicious-- and such large portions that we couldn't avoid taking home leftovers. All served in an upscale, modern setting. We will definitely be back!!
good food, excellent service, cool place, and the price is reasonable.
Everything we had from cocktails to appetizers to our main dishes was awesome. The service was impeccable and the bread is always a highlight. Can't wait to go back!
Outstanding food and great portions I will most definitely recommend to friends and family 😋😋
Outstanding meal. Every dish we tried was unique and delicious. I highly recommend the squash in filo dough appetizer, the flaming prawns, and the lamb shank. Extensive wine selection. A definite new favorite.
Great place to spend a night out with family or friends
Wonderful experience. Everything was perfect. Great food great service they treated us like old friends. We will return.
I would recommend the lamb shank and the lamb chops. The spreads are fresh and the pita served with it is very good. Save the complimentary pita from the breadbasket for maximum enjoyment of the spreads.
A great find. Our reservation was honored within 5 minutes. The wait staff was very attentive . Served our drinks quickly and took our orders.
Our appetizers were excellent. The Fish Tacos were great, as were the vegetable chips. Our main courses were all fish (Bronzino and Dorado). Both were excellent.
We will be back.
The only downside of the evening is the parking. Allow for a good 10-15 minutes of trying to find a spot in a busy neighborhood
Great food and experience. A little loud but tolerable. Very authentic Greek food with Manhattan prices.
The food was delicious and the ambiance was great. Would definitely recommend for a date or small group. The only negative was I ordered the scallops, and while they were delicious, $34 for literally 4 scallops with not a single other thing on the plate besides a garnish is pretty crazy.
Claudia was an awesome host! Very genuine and she made our night that much better. We went to dinner for my girlfriends birthday; her family also flew in as well and it was the perfect spot to show them Greek food.
This is by far the BEST Greek restaurant in Queens!! From start to finish, you are greeted with a warm welcome and smile from all staff members. The ambiance is beautiful, romantic, and modern with a twist of Greek vintage. Every dish on the menu is delectable and made to look like a work of art. I ordered scallops and I have never tasted more tender and juicy scallops in my life! I have also celebrated my birthday here and I recently attended their Live Greek Night! The band sounded amazing and the vibe was so lively while everyone was dining! Trust me. This restaurant is the gem of Astoria and you must visit!
A good attempt to take Greek food upscale... not always successful, but decent. They take liberty with names of Greek foods, like kontosouvli, and change them at will. Service was good, no cmplaints there. Prices were on the high side for what was delivered.
I had such a great time! This is my third time coming here and the food was excellent and so was the service. Everyone was so accommodating and made my birthday special. My favorite dish was the roasted chicken with the three dips! I also recommend either the greek red wine or the flavored margaritas!
A beautiful and excellent addition to the Mediterranean restaurants in the Astoria area. I almost hate to write a good review as this will soon become a go-to place for many and I will no longer be able to get in. Worth the travel from Great Neck. But wish the pita plaka had a bit more meat, rather than a plate of potatoes. But excellent food and fabulous service!
The food was incredible. That being said our waiter more or less ignored us for the entire night. There was confusion over who was taking what sections of tables initially but after 20 min of waiting for someone to take our drink order I thought that had been sorted out. Unfortunately we continued to be forgotten. Our appetizers came out before our beverages, we had questions about the entrees the waiter said he would be right back to answer the questions and never returned. Not once were we asked if everything was ok, not once were we asked if we wanted another drink. After we finished eating the busboys cleared our plates then we were left again. Finally after 25 min of sitting at a table with no food I had to ask the hostess if we could get our check. Finally a manager came over and apologized. The manager was very kind and apologetic and even offered dessert or drinks but after 2.5 hours of dining we needed to get home. I made sure to tell him that the bus boys and food runners were incredible and the food was delicious. I understand mistakes happen but we were not the only table with issues. Also—the dinner rush was more than over. It’s a shame because the ambiance, food and vibe of the restaurant are outstanding but the service needs some serious help.
Flawless food & service! Definitely a new favorite spot for date night!
Restored my faith in restaurants' ability to execute on Valentines Day. I usually hate dining out on Valentines Day, but we had a night without kiddo and wanted to do something nice without cooking. They had the usual price-fixed menu, but for a change it felt worth it. Lovely choices, including poached lobster and filet mignon, and 4 full courses. Service was also gracious and efficient and did not make us feel rushed at any point. This was our first time here, but if they can pull off a nice dining experience on Valentines day, we look forward to returning!
Nice ambiance and great service by Claudia. The noise level was high but our server toned it down a bit and it helped. We enjoyed the contosouvli. Good beer selection.
I was so looking forward to dinner because it was a very special celebration. My mother's last chemo treatment. They sat us at a table right next to the kitchen. My mother was getting rattled by all the kitchen noise and asked our waiter for another table. He sent over the manager by the name of Nikos. She explained nicely that the noise was bothering her if we can be moved and he said I am sorry. She told him she was celebrating her last chemo treatment and just wanted the night to be special and he said I am sorry. She then said I’ve been battling breast cancer for the past eight months and I really need tonight to be special and he said I am sorry. At that point it sounded like she was begging and the tears started to build up in her eyes, so she just gave up. Nikos did offer us a 15% discount on the check which we would have gladly given up and returned for different table. My heart was breaking for my mom at the insensitivity she was encountering. What saved the night was that the food was really good and PANOS, our waiter was so sweet and so sincere and so courteous. He was a godsend. The place was very busy and we waited a long time between placing orders and getting our food and then waiting for him to come back but we didn’t mind because he was genuine. Before I wrote my review, my mom tried writing the owners and did not receive the courtesy of a reply.
I have no intention of every returning or recommending this restaurant ever again.
Luckily we got there about 6:15 when it wasn’t too crowded. The service and food were great. Only issue is the noise level which got quite loud by 8 when we left.
Everything was delicious! The drinks were a bit too sweet but otherwise great.
The food was excellent, and the service was simply outstanding. From the minute we walked in the door, to the moment we left. The hostess, the manager, the waiters, the entire staff made it a point to make sure we were taken care of. Not rushed. A real enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.
Panos was our server and he was great! He was so helpful and made our meal enjoyable and recommended items that I would never have tried if it weren't for him.
While the energy and vibe were uplifting and fun, the food was mediocre at best.
Just amazing. Can’t wait to back. Everything was delicious
The place is lovely and service is excellent but the food and drink is just too pricey for the neighborhood.
An amazing experience. Top notch food. Presentation impeccable. Prompt service, great quality dishes, and ambiance is relaxing. Cocktails on point. Nothing bad to say whatsoever. The manager and hostess/manager are always welcoming to my gf and I. In my top 3 best Greek restaurants in Astoria for sure. Keep it up guys.
