Angler Los Angeles
The food was great. Artichoke appetizer was delicious. The potatoes are amazing. The fish was very good - perfectly cooked - but the dessert was outstanding.
My only criticism is the music was loud & intrusive. Great meal - !
We had an amazing experience, great food, amazing service and attention to detail.
Wonderful service, mind-boggling food. Could this be the best-kept secret in L.A.? I'm going to tell!
One of the best meals I have had not only in LA, but ever. Josh Skenes is a true chef's chef and has given LA something very special that people should take advantage of. The caviar pancake is the best bite i have had in 3 years.
Gorgeous, and very special meal. Everything we ate was stunning. A bit pricey, but absolutely worth it. The staff was great, and very knowledgeable.
One of the best new spots we've tried in LA. The food is delicious and very interesting. We loved everything we ate. The vibe is very chill and cool, despite the somewhat unusual setting within the Beverly Center. This is a must try for any foodie.
Skillfully prepared and delicious food. My only complaints are the food is expensive and the menu is very limited. More sides needed, at a minimum
The seafood here is top notch. And you can get a table most nights. Go before is closes.
The menu at Angler is relatively limited. The selections are very expensive. I ordered a caesar salad for and $18, a pan roasted porgy for $48 and 6 small parker rolls for $12. These were the least expensive items on the menu. The food was very good, the service appropriate and the ambiance in the dining room noisy. The restaurant is very pretentious including the undersized utensils. I would have ordered a glass of wine but the most ordinary wine was $18. Overall, the food is too expensive and the noise level too energetic for a pleasant dining experience.
The branzino was amazing
If money is an issue, don't bother. Having said that, Angler does things no other restaurant in LA does, and in inventive and compelling ways. It is a restaurant that warrants visiting at least once, and should inspire diners to visit three to four times a year. I hope they stay around.
Fantastic! Highly recommend
The food was incredible! The service really great. I just would have thought that we both would have gotten our own lobster tails for a 500+ meal.
We were there for Valentine's special menu. It was $150 p/p without drinks. It included a 5 course menu. We love good food and literally travel for a good restaurant. The chef idea of creative cooking was horrendous, this is a short info: sweet banana pancakes with caviar?!! a whole red cabbage that looked like open heart surgery, 1 single lobster tail for 2 people with a pile of green leaves without any dressing or presentation and so on, there was not a single good dish. The better one was tuna tartar and it was so small it didn't even count. This for sure was an experience NOT to be repeated. We ended hungry and disgusted
Angler was recommended to us by friends. It was a very different dining experience in a good way. We enjoyed a few shared plates like tuna carpaccio, octopus, a mushroom soup(very unusual), and a whitefish. We also had a sundae for dessert which was delicious! Everything was very good but very different presentations than a typical seafood restaurant. It is pricey but you can share all of the dishes! I would recommend Angler for a special occasion. The service was outstanding as well!
Great food, great service, and such a hidden gem in the Beverly Center
Very inventive and delicious dishes. Love the radicchio salad, the potatoes with cheese sauce, butternut squash and beets. My companions loved the sea bass and Caesar salad. Best to come with at least four people so you can get more dishes and share family style. The price was actually very good for the level of service, the great ambiance and quality of food, our bill was only $270 for 4 people. We had plenty to eat and had scrumptious deserts.
Also loved the great 80s music. This is my second time in less than a week, and for me to drive over an hour each way tells you how good it is!
Very good meal, not just the seafood but everything. In fact I think the chicken (served with its feet attached) and the veggies were actually my favorite.
it is a very handsome room, with a lot of wood and they keep the atmosphere lively with 80s music.
If they offer the fish collar as a special, get it.
A little slow in the beginning. We were greeted by 3 or 4 people, not sure who are server was at first. To0ok about 25 minutes to get first round of drinks. Service was great otherwise. Food was great, some were a bit overpriced. Sea Urchin was the finest I've ever had. Sea Bass was outstanding. The fish with all the bones in it for $42 was a fail.
Food was good. Menu was far too limited. Maybe 5 - 6 more items or specials. Only one steak and it is $180.00.
It was a very nice experience. I love shellfish but am not a seafood lover otherwise
Epic evening if what food and wine
The food service and presentation were a 10. The price was very expensive however. This is the kind of restaurant you go to for special occasions not everyday dining.
Lovely space; limited menu and very pricey....well prepared food; very fresh; some portions on the small side
Bang on start to finish. Listened to Dave Chang podcast with Chef Skenes. Was fun to see it in person.
Our server was outstanding. Best I’ve had in a year. I eat out 100 times a year and run a restaurant group. Hats off to the entire team at Angler for delivering a start to finish experience that is so hard to find amongst the acceptable mediocrity these days.
Really hard if you have a food allergy more specific a gluten allergy. The angler sauce is not gluten free and is placed on everything
Amazing service and food
Wanted to love this place... food is just OK.. hard to find, no street frontage. I’d predict they don’t last another 12 months
Every dish is so unique! Before I went, I read the article online and listened to the interview of Joshua by David Chang. Knowing what kind of chef he is, feeling his personality, and how much he cares about the freshness of the seafood.... made me appreciate each bite of the foods so much more! Even the seasonings on the table are so special!!!! Love they bring up one or few dish at a time, so we can really enjoy each dish while it is still warm!
Really good, but still about 2-2.5X overpriced. You should never have to pay $80 for a small, common flounder.
I took my son to Angler for his 40th birthday party and was extremely disappointed with the experience. From the initial lengthy wait for service in the bar to the mediocre service at dinner, Angler is not a place I'd recommend. The menu is ridiculously limited and the pricing is insane. The oysters and fish were not fresh and the fish portion size didn't justify the price. The fish was over seasoned which is always a sign that it isn't fresh. My chicken wasn't moist and tender and I have to say that I don't find chicken feet to be particularly attractive. I know in some cultures its a positive but it isn't the case for me. Overall the meal was a huge $400 disappointment, never to happen again.
Best chicken- really. The menu is a bit limited but everything is excellent. Especially the soft serve with bbq caramel sauce.
The best restaurant in Los Angeles. Go now.
Wonderful Birthday Dinner
Service was excellent and the food was
Superb! Couldn’t have been a better
Everything good with one glitch - the Parker rolls were undercooked in the center.
THE FOOD IS AMAZING! THE BREAD IS OUTSTANDING, the fish and salad are great too, really incredible. Great restaurant again but their sound system was way way way too loud.. They need to rework the sound so it's not pouring down on you - I couldn't have a clear conversation while eating. Tremendous restaurant - great for foodies.
Our first visit to Angler was for New Year’s Eve — and what an incredible way to celebrate! Without a doubt it was one of our best dining experiences ever. The food was hands-down extraordinary and each of our 6 courses was delicious. Of course the caviar on the banana pancake is out-of-this-world. In addition the spiny lobster, grilled porterhouse and gold-leafed chocolate bar were all incredible. We met the fun and interesting sommelier who had selected perfect wines to pair with each course. You definitely want to look into the firey and active kitchen where the head chef is welcoming. I usually don’t gush over a restaurant but Angler reaches new highs.
