This experience was exceptional. Raising the bar for Canmore. Kudos to Chef Danny and his fantastic culinary team as well as an outstanding and professional front of house service team. The menu was elegant and sophisticated paired with sensational cocktail menu and an incredible wine list. This place will quickly rise to the top ranks in Canmore. Plating and flavours were extremely on point. Well done team. As a Canmore local this place is instantly my new favorite. Cheers...

Outstanding ambiance and food. Highly recommended!
We had the sourdough and carrots to start, both were amazingly delicious. For mains, I had the tortellini and my partner had the duck, both of which were absolutely perfect. We were treated to an amuse bouche and a complimentary dessert afterwards. I have never been to a place where my partner didn’t complain about something, he was raving about the food here, not one complaint. Excellent service as well.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ankor on November 28, 2020. I cannot imagine a more stressful experience than realizing a life-long goal, opening your own restaurant, investing in this beautiful space and ingredients, in the middle of a pandemic. I wanted to show this new local gem my support.
From walking in the door the wonderful smell and cozy ambiance welcomed me and my companion into the space. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who graciously seated us at a clean, minimally appointed table, with a partition between the next guests. The restaurant was quiet, and felt very private and intimate. The decor is beautiful with an open kitchen and living wall.
I ordered a delicious curated cocktail, and my companion had a beer, both the beer list and cocktail list left us wanting to try everything. We started with the house made sourdough, and carrot, the honey butter for the sourdough stole the show - and made me wish I could buy the butter by the barrel.
For mains I had the duck, it was cooked beautifully - especially the breast which was perfectly medium rare with crispy skin. I would have licked the plate if the partitions were tinted.... My friend had the steak frites, and while she wouldn't share the steak, i did get one of the frites and it was sublime. The wine by the glass paired beautifully with the meal, and was the perfect recommendation.
For dessert we shared the chestnut mouse Millefeuille, it was light and not too sweet. My only regret was that we shared and I didn't get to eat it all myself. I had latte with dessert and it was also perfect and light, and accompanied our conversation.
My biggest highlight of the night was that for a few short hours, I forgot it was 2020, and was able to truly relax, enjoy delicious food, drinks, and excellent company. The restaurant was impeccably clean, the staff were extremely diligent and we were able to focus on enjoying our conversation. I am so grateful to the staff at Ankor. Thank you.

Ankor's opening night was one of the most memorable meals we've enjoyed in Canmore! The ambiance is so thoughtfully curated, and comfortable. The buzz of the chefs in the open kitchen, and the bartenders is captivating. You can feel the care that has gone into this menu. We really appreciated the details in the menu explanations and the efforts to source and celebrate local food and beverage. Really looking forward to returning soon! Thank you for a perfect birthday celebration! PS. the Sourdough is out of this world. Wow. Just wow.
