Anthony's at Squalicum Harbor Bellingham
Covid spacing, great food and service
The COVID restrictions have made Anthony's a very pleasant place to dine. The menu is a bit restricted, but the quiet atmosphere more than makes up for it. The food, as always was very good, and the Sunset Special was a very good bargain. I had quit eating at Anthony's (and the Hearthfire) because of the very high noise levels in the past.
We had reservations for 5:00. Only 11 people dining! Tables were marked unavailable, distancing was well planned, all servers wore masks. Food was amazing as always!
Our first dinner out during the pandemic. All staff had masks and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We sat outside with more than 6 feet between tables. Waitress was friendly and provided excellent service. Our dinner was fabulous and the view of the harbor was wonderful. Thank you!
Great service, Great Food, and great atmosphere!!!
Had late Friday night dinner. Not too many people left. They do an excellent job of “social distancing”. Food and drinks were very good and the service was excellent. The manager greeted us upon arrival and said good bye as we left. He is very personable. Wonderful dining experience with a great view of the yacht harbor.
I just love Anthony's Homeport and have missed not going during the COVID shutdown!
This was the second time I have been there since it has reopened and it is every bit as delicious as always...and it is so wonderful to see the staff again!! I missed them all!
Wonderfully tasty salmon & Alaskan cod. Melt in your mouth flavors, dancing on your palate.
My favorite place! We love the food, beautiful view, heat service.
Everyone was wearing a mask. The staff at Anthony’s is professional, friendly and are practicing all the Covid recommendations! Our dinners were excellent and the service was great!
The salmon and the crab cake entrees were excellent. Spinach salad was also very good.
Early bird menu could use a few more selections - also no happy hour menu-otherwise great!
Father’s Day and Anthony’s just really-opened for in house dining due to pandemic related closure. Menu limited somewhat (no filet!) but well prepared food and Excellent service. Our dishes were steak & shrimp, shrimp scampi pasta and fish & chips. All of us enjoyed our dinners. Can’t beat Anthony’s for water front view dining with soaring windows and the Pacific NW wooden architecture. Our favorite go to restaurant for special occasions and never disappoints.
Due to COVID-19 tables are completely bare, no condiments, no table cloth, etc. Food choice was limited, and VERY expensive, prices have gone up substantially for portions given. Service was excellent though as always.
The food was amazing and the staff there is usually very friendly however, I believe because of COVID rules they were not as attentive as usual. I give them a 5 star every time but we go there often.
Great place, excellent food and service. Always enjoy our time there.
The staff was all very friendly and wearing masks. The food and service were excellent.
Anthony's has been a long time favorite and it was good to see this one open again, even though it, unfortunately had to have restrictions and precautions in place.
It was quiet due to covid-19. The restuarant was beautiful, servers were attentive, polite and enjoyable. Dinner was spectacular and scrumptious! And the Cherry Buckle made the dinner complete. Thank you for staying open. Stay healthy!!
We did the Sunset dinner....the food was bland, oysters were cold....shrimp cocktail (why bother).and it was just OK!!!! We will NOT go back!!!! Service was really great though.
Very loud group next to us at some points couldn’t hear each other kinna frustrating
I feel like when you make a reservation you shouldn’t have to wait for over 15 min to get seated
I knew Valentine's day would be a busy night which is why I made the reservation well in advance. Once we got there, we waited 25 minutes before we were shown to our table. The kitchen was really fast but they clearly overbooked the night.
The dinner was fabulous, the service was awesome. The place was packed, so it was a bit noisey, but understandable.
Service started slow with a longer than usual wait for someone to come to our table - wanted to start evening with a champagne for the birthday girl and had to wait. Food was OK - my rockfish was very thin; thinner than usual. Had a fishy taste so must have left on the 'graying' underneath. All in all OK but not great.
Great place, but very loud. Hard to hear the person across from you.
Had a great dinner out with my boyfriend. Our server was so lively and kind. Super upfront about timing for different dishes and what to expected. He really was ahead of what we wanted and needed which was outstanding. The food was EXCELLENT! Crab fettuccine and the sword fish dinners are what we ordered. Then dessert was amazing also. Just prompt, happy, helpful service. We waited a little after the reservation time to be seated but honestly if you don’t expect that on a busy night that’s on you not them. Would recommend using Open Table and would recommend Anthony’s to everyone! Really outstanding service.
I have been going here for years and usually I give it a better rating but the last few times I have found it to very average meal for the price. And I have to say the waiter was not that friendly and rushed us through our meals. I specially asked them not to rush us. The calamari was so salty and over cooked.
On the bright side it is a lovely view
David is our ALL TIME favorite waiter!! He even makes the food and wine taste better!
The salmon was cooked to perfection.
Anthony's is a restaurant we can count on. Superb quality, gracious service, stunning location, and great value all add up to a wonderful experience for customers.
I made my reservations online and put a note on there that it was my birthday and would like a seat by the window. We did have to wait 15 or so mins for a table when we got there, then an extra couple minutes for one by the window. The hosts were nice and acknowledged the birthday note. It would have been nice if the server had got the memo that it was one of our birthdays, though. I got skipped over when we were ordering and went last.
I'm gluten free and I couldn't eat the bread that was served, but I ordered the NW seasonal salad which didn't have any berries on it and was not particularly good and not worth $10. However I was glad to be able to eat something before my food came.
I got the scallops and they were delicious! I was very pleased. I also got a basil pomegranate mocktail that was very good.
But after our food came and a quick once over, we didn't see our server again, so it was hard to order another drink. And when I did, it felt hurried and like I couldn't ask any questions about it. I wound up getting a drink that was way too strong.
The desert menu only had two gluten free things on it - ice cream and burnt cream. Even the mousse wasn't gluten-free. I was going to ask if there was a free desert for birthdays, but I didn't want the GF options they had, so I didn't bother. And our server didn't seem to have time for me to ask either. So we just went elsewhere for desert.
I initially have this review 4 stars across the board because I overall had a pleasant evening with my SO and family, however, after breaking down the evening, there were a lot of things that didn't go so well.
Very clean and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent view of the water. Accommodating of the wheelchair we had including a nice ramp. The ramp does have some landscaping byshes that needs to be clipped back. Professional, kind, smiling and courteous employees. We will be back!
It seems they don't have enough employees to handle the crowd. We had a reservation through OpenTable, arrived 5 minutes early. We were 'checked in', and noticed that there were several other couples 'checked in' and complaining of their wait. A few minutes survey of the dining room indicated very few people being served, and after 20 minutes of waiting to be seated, with several people still ahead of us, and the hostess not addressing the problem, it was obvious they were not keeping up with reservations or able to handle the crowd efficiently, or even offer to explain the hold-up. We left without being seated and ended up another great establishment where we were seated immediately.
It's the place we go to when we are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or any special occasion because we know we will have a great meal.
Lovely place to celebrate a birthday, fabulous place for a 2nd date. We spent lots of time chatting before even looking at the menu and the waiter handled it well - he checked in but didn't push. Food was yummy!
The server and busboy were attentive but not overly present and both were extremely polite and professional. The food was to everyone's liking and was really something folks were raving about. I would not hesitate to recommend Anthony's at Squalicum Harbor Bellingham to a friend and was very happy with our dining experience.
The kitchen kept things timed properly so at no time were there multiple courses served at the same time, which paced the meal well.
What I will remember was my own experience, not that of the other three dinners.
I read over the menu carefully, trying to find dishes that were not shell fish, as I have an allergy to
it. I believed I ordered sliced raw tuna, but received a poke bowl of cooked through tuna pieces! Sad I didn't complain at that point. My entree, the cod special, was undercooked! By then it was too.late to complain. My husband's meal was good, as apparently was everyone elses! I will not go back anytime soon.
We were looking for a good seafood restaurant in Bellingham while we were visiting there and we found it. The restaurant sits right by the ocean so am sure on a clear night it would be stunning unfortunately it was raining and foggy during our visit. The food was excellent, the service was prompt and friendly. We were there on a Monday night and it was full - highly recommend reservations.
Our waiter initially was great, but must have had too many tables. We had to wait a long time before he returned so that we could ask a question. Also we would have appreciated coffee or tea with our dessert but we got tired of waiting!
The view of the harbor from our window seats was nice. The lighting at nice was comfortable. Our cups never went low. The 3 course meal was a good deal. We enjoyed our visit.
