Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza - Wynnewood
Good food, some delays in serving due to focus on prepping super bowl food orders
only issue, we has a reservation and still had to wait another 1/2 hour.
Reservation was not honored - more than a half hour wait to be seated.
Host seemed confused by seating people coming in.
After someone recommended this restaurant, we gave it a try. Would not have seen it otherwise, tucked behind the stores in Wynnewood shopping center. The food was excellent. The restaurant was roaring when we arrived a bit before 7:00 pm. We were seated fairly promptly and enjoyed the energy in the room, with TVs tuned to sporting events, lots of families and food being ferried from the kitchen and pizza oven to tables. My dining companion had the ribs, which he enjoyed. I had an Italian salad, which I also enjoyed. We ordered a pizza to go, because if a place is known for pizza, you have to at least try it. My opinion is, it's excellent. We'll be back.
Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. The chicken wings came but some of us did not have plates or silverware.
I called over the manager who said she would box the wings and get us a new hot order of wings.
My meatball entree came out first. I still did not have a plate or silverware. I felt the plate but it was not hot. We tried to get any server’s attention but couldn’t. Finally we got a bus person who brought, set ups, and water. He spilled one of the waters all over the table and floor and also on some of our purses. He came back with a roll of paper towels quickly trying to clean up. The problem was the water glasses were small and the straws were very tall making them easy to bump and topple.
One friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs which was so spicy she could not eat it. She ordered the eggplant instead, which 2 others had ordered. They all liked that.
While refilling water the waitress knocked over a glass. This time the manager helped to wipe it up. They brought me a large red glass which accommodated the large straw.
The new plate of wings was not the usual crispy variety. The pizza was also not crispy, well done like they are usually. The mushrooms seemed to be canned and it was very spicy.
Finally the meatballs (which they added 2 extra) came out.
We made the best of a bad situation. The staff all tried and although we have eaten there many times before we were very disappointed.
A consistently good neighborhood restaurant with excellent pizza.
Been to many Anthony’s...won’t go back to this one. Pizza is over cooked with chunks of tomatoes. Bathrooms are dirty and unkept. At least the servers are pleasant.
In a dining room with a bunch of open tables the young host sat us at the only 2 top. Really? Server was slow and forgetful. I ordered a small salad, my husband 2 meatballs. The meatballs came and went and then my salad. No too long after came the pizza. Not time correctly. I asked for ice tea with lemon. The slice of lemon were so thin they were useless. I asked for more lemon and it took quite a while to return. Same thing with my husband’s Coke. Not a pleasant dinner. Something was missing.
Casual dining experience. Good service. Good selection of pizza/salads. The cleanliness of the tables could have been better.
Great wings, good on-tap beer selection, excellent pizza and consistently good service. A perfect combination for a casual dinner out.
Great pizza, salads and wings and a decent beer selection. Everything you need for a pizza night out.
Food was good, atmosphere good for being in a shopping center. wait staff was mediocore
I never give bad reviews but It took almost an hour to get our food! One Pizza! And I heard the servers apologize to other tables for the food taking so long. It was not busy.
Enjoyed the meal. Nice neighborhood restaurant.
We waited about 45 minutes for two pizzas. They comped us the pizzas for length of the wait. Had the Philly Cheesesteak pizza. Definitely not worth the wait.
The cauloflower pizza is always a favorite of ours. The Italian style salad has too much lettuce in it and not enough olives, chick peas, tomatoes etc.
Food was really good and service was excellent- very on top of food allergies. Kids loved everything too!
Everything was great! Our server was very attentive and the meatballs are my favorite
We have gone to Anthony's multiple times in Wynnewood, Wayne and Delray Beach Florida. Unfortunately the food quality is declining. The salad came with ONE tomato quartered, a very few olives and a few chickpeas. Hardly any dressing. Clearly someone was counting out the olives and chickpeas and we pay $12 for basically a big bowl of lettuce.
The wings were delicous but noticably smaller and less meaty than before.
The restaurant was "out of " Blue Moon beer, despite it being listing on the chalkboard.
At the end of the day we paid $45 for a bowl of lettuce, large wings and 2 beers. Disappointed to see the quality slipping.
The salad and wings were great. The pizza was warm not hot and although it was considered large, it was only medium sized.
This is a great place to watch a game - with great food and very friendly and quick service. You can sit outside, once the weather is nice. They have a few tables on a covered patio. Good for vegetarians and meat-eaters.
Our go to local Pizza place (in the old converted Wynnewood Post Office). Good Italian menu options for non-payment pizza diners. Ever changing On-Tap beer & ales as well full bar compliment.
Pizza well done.
I would only recommend this restaurant if you order something to share with your friends. I dined with two other people; we each ordered our own dinners. All of the food came out at different times. One friend got hers and was eating alone for at least 15 minutes. Then another friend got her pizza. Ten more minutes passed. Finally, I got my food. I don't understand why it's so tough to have everything go out at the same time, especially in a restaurant like this. The menu is not big and there aren't an overwhelming number of choices.
Stop asking me for reviews.
We always enjoy Anthony’s
Excellent pasta fagioli soup. Really enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich with prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula on pizza dough bread.
Our ServerJulianne was outstanding!!
I would recommend going to another Anthony's. I've been to a bunch of locations, all of which have been great- both the food and the service. I also always order the same thing (large pizza, arugula salad). This location stands out as being well below the standards of the other locations. The pizza was mushy and the salad lacked the seasoning and dressing of the other locations. Our waitress disappeared and then brought us out our appetizer and pizza at the same time. I know these are first world problems, but I feel like Anthony's should have some accountability here since it's a huge chain. Won't go back.
Pizza well done! Are Friday Night go to Pizza Place. Easy in and easy out. Service is always attentive. Guests range from Families to Seniors enjoying a night out. Good value.
One of our favorite places in the neighborhood. We go about once a week
The pizza was not as good as other Anthony’s restaurants. The crust tasted pre-made.
Always a great, fresh meal. Service was a little slow this time but we were there during the Eagles game so we didn't mind too much. Their Classic Italian salad is always fresh and a favorite off all ages in our family.
Food is consistently great staff is awesome
It's our local eat-in or take out Pizza place. We've been patrons since it opened. Pizza well done. Always busy with couples and families. Good beer & IPA selection as well as wine by the glass.
Menu is updated periodically.
Great family friendly restaurant
A family friendly place. I love the open air, heated front porch! Consistently good, simple healthy foods.
I LOVE the fact that they serve their pizza WELL DONE! it’s hard to come across a place that knows how to do that without actually burning it. We also got the burrata salad and the wings. The salad was delicious, and fresh and I love the touch of caramelized onions on top of the wings. To top it all off our waiter was super nice and attentive. I can’t wait to go back!
Anthony's is our local Pizza place. The menu has a good selection of Appetizers, Salads and Sandwiches, as well as Pizza.
Really like the pizza, but admittedly it's expensive compared to every other place you can get pizza in the area.
We sat at the bar like we always do, bartender was nice Manager his name was Sean he was extra nice good conversation will be back again in the future
We eat there most Friday nights. Love the pizza, meatballs and wings
