Anthony's Hearthfire Grill - Bellingham
Beautiful location and service was outstanding. The complimentary hot bread was amazing. Main course Dishes were a mixed bag. Steak and prawns were ok. Top Sirloin was really chewy and the Mac and cheese that my daughter ordered was not very cheesy. Especially since it was made with Beecher white cheddar. Prawn linguini was pretty bland. Prawns were good size and much bigger than what came with my steak. Good drinks and for a party of four we paid w/tip about $140.
Nice!!! Good service. Relaxed atmospherr
We had a wonderful evening. Felt better when we walked out than when we walked in!
Everything was very good from check in to service, cocktails and the food
The huckleberry cocktails were delicious, the lingcod was fabulous and the pork hop divine. The value was exceptional for this CA couple. Pacific Northwest seafood is just so wonderful!
Calamari appetizer crust was moist and luke-warm, at best. Other meals at our table were ok (pasta, fish & chips), but we had to send a steak back. Medium rare request served completely raw at first (cold, dark red from edge to edge) and slightly better 2nd time (char on outside but cold, dark red 75% - see photo).
Rest of table was finished eating by the time the 2nd steak came out, which spoiled the mood. Manager removed the steak from bill, and our server provided free appetizer voucher for next visit, but I don't think we'll return.
Great menu items, great service. Unfortunately, I can't remember our waiter but he was very attentive to our needs and accommodated our requests.
We had a wonderful time at Hearthfire, as we always do.
Delicious food, excellent service and thankful for following COVID standards. The marina and water views are fabulous.
Great atmosphere and the main courses are delicious. Our server was slow in getting our initial order and we didn’t see a wine menu or options for a bottle. Mushroom appetizer was sub par in taste and texture. I would go here again~
Great food, great service!
Best food and service we have had at a restaurant since the Pandemic started.
We enjoyed the experience. Staff was helpful, professional service.
Gracious service in a lovely setting, but food was mediocre for the price, and the luncheon menu is very limited - check before you go.
We had a wonderful lunch and the view was spectacular. The food was delicious.
I went there for my birthday dinner, I have made it a tradition to go there every year on my birthday and I have never been disappointed. This year was extra special, the dinner was excellent. We had a window table and enjoyed the water view. I wish that I could remember the name of our wait person, she was excellent. I may have to go to Hearthfire Grill more often than just my birthday because is such a wonderful experience!
We went for our anniversary dinner. The derby was excellent, the food was great and we got to watch the sail boats leave the harbour. We will be back!
I spilled my wine and the manager came right over and not only cleaned up our table, but refilled my glass!
The waitress was very friendly and conscientious.
We had a lovely evening dinner date.
My friend loved the tomato basil soup and the teriyaki mushrooms. My husband enjoyed his Ling Cod. I thought the rotisserie chicken dinner was disappointing--the meat was dry and tasteless. Our waiter, though, was fabulous--knowledgeable, more than accommodating, expert in offering advice on wine/food pairing etc.
We chose meals from the $28 early dinners, having soup, salad, steak, cod and a jar dessert of cheesecake topped with huckleberries All the food was excellent, and the service was great, too!
Beautiful views of the harbor. Clean, newer feeling restaurant. Lovely , romantic ambiance for a date night!
Perfect location on the water for evening dining, with a view of the harbor. The place is soothing and calm, perfect after a hectic day. The bonus surprise for us was that our waiter Jacob P knew American Sign Language and fingerspelling, which really removed stress about ordering or questions about the offerings. The tomato bisque and Caesar salad were the perfect and delicious start of the meal. We both had the Louisiana-style giant shrimp with potatoes and vegetables, and then Jar Pies for dessert. Everything was perfectly cooked, portion sizes were filling and no food was wasted. I highly recommend this classy place to go to unwind and have an excellent meal.
You desperately need to provide some training for the wait staff. It seemed like this might have been our waiter's first day. The food is almost as good as before Covid.
We made reservations for 5:30 on a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were promptly seated at a requested window seat. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. My wife is dairy intolerant, so she ordered the prawns and steak. The waitress assured her that the melted cheese topping for the prawns could be omitted. When the dish came out (served by a kitchen staff), it did have the cheese on it. The waitress apologized and promptly sent it back. The steak was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and tender. I ordered the halibut, unfortunately, when it came, it was clearly overcooked and dried out. It too was promptly returned and a new portion came out moist and nicely cooked with an excellent mango and huckleberry sauce topping. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. Two cocktails (a rusty nail and the house special huckleberry mojito) were excellent. Overall not inexpensive, we tipped 25% and with slightly better attention to details, this dinner would move from very good/excellent to outstanding.
Came here for my fiancé’s birthday and we had a great experience. Food was amazing, was easily accommodated for my good view request and easily made using open table. Will definitely be coming back for more soon
Quite expensive for what you get but food was prepared simply and tastefully. Good comfort food but nothing special. Our waitstaff was personable and efficient. My only complaint is not being seated far enough away from the next table. During time of pandemic, I was surprised that people were being seated far too closely for me to feel comfortable. The view though was spectacular!
Always a good value for your money and great service!
This was our 52nd wedding anniversary dinner celebration. I made a reservation for 6:00 and due to traffic we didn’t get there until almost 6:30. We were immediately seated at the window overlooking the marina which is where I had requested we be seated when making my reservation. The whole experience was great; wait staff, drinks, food and ambiance. It was a little noisy but still a wonderful experience. We will be back as we learned the Early Dining experience is starting up again.
We love Anthony's Hearthfire Grill for a special occasion. Good food, great views, and wonderful service.
LOVED our early bird dinner at Hearthfire. Service, food, everything was Wonderful! Our Server was especially Terrific -he couldn't have been better. Especially enjoyed the Outdoor Seating overlooking the Boat Marina/Bellingham Bay and as a Bonus we absolutely & totally enjoyed hearing the Live Music that was nearby. Thank You!
We had never eaten at Hearthfire Grill and now it is one of our favorite restaurants in Bellingham!
The food was excellent (Burger & Fries, Cod & Chips). The service was unusually slow.
Our "Birthday Celebration" went unnoticed.
Our chicken was tasty, but the mashed potatoes were very hard and starchy. Nothing special
I love the Crab & Corn Chowder, it’s heaven. Unfortunately, it was not available, I was disappointed. I have to give them grace, with COVID, the seafood menu is very limited which is understandable.
I would recommend Anthony’s Hearthfire to everyone, it’s one of my favorites
We were Happy with our food ... the Host was very nice and accommodating ..gave us a wonderful view table ..The waitress was very attentive But not bothersome ..we were visiting with our granddaughter and we were there for sometime .. She did not hurry us at ALL ...
Loved out Visit to Hearthfire yesterday, everything was PERFECT! We also LOVED our Server - she may have been our very best yet
Good value with the Sunset menu, delicious and very filling, with a great view. What's not to like?
Usually excellent, but slightly disappointing this time. We were seated at a table in the bar even though we had a birthday dinner reservation for a window table. It was a window table, but not an ideal location. The bar has a TV (😝), and a tile floor, and the conversation is louder, and the ambiance is not as nice as the main floor. My date had a very small, licensed, service dog, so perhaps that's why we were seated in the bar area, with the hard floor? My MaiTai was pleasant, and I usually prefer them not too strong, but this time it was too weak on the rum, and too much ice.
The halibut ($41) was very good, a large piece, but slightly overcooked. The sides of rice pilaf with craisins, and the green beens, were very good, as usual, but the portions were skimpy. The Caesar was too small, and not very flavorful: the dressing was not exciting, and it could have used more cheese, and some croutons. The menu seemed smaller than my last visit, pre-Covid.
I still highly recommend the Hearthfire, and look forward to another visit for lunch.
Normally this is one of our most favorite restaurants torestaurants to eat at for special occasions. This time was a big disappointment. We had let the restaurant know in advance that we wanted the best table that they had for our anniversary and ended up with a table that was right next to the pay station and back door. Lots of traffic buzzing by us with a tiny table. We were willing to wait for something nicer since we were early but were rushed through. The waiter seemed like he was having an off day which kind of added to the disappointment of our experience and the food was average at best. He did however bring out ever bring out a dish of ice cream for us to share complimentary for our anniversary occasion.
Not our usual experience but a huge disappointment for what was a monumental day for us.
It was excellent. Good selections. Ability to modify choices.
Our 44th anniversary dinner w/ friends. Peach ice cream was the best ever!!
