Aragosta at Goose Cove
The folks at Aragosta are so wonderful! They worked to accommodate allergies and navigated the COVID situation very well. We felt so safe while we ate some delicious and thoughtful food. The greenhouse space was cozy and private. Paired with the excellent wine suggested to us by the sommelier, our evening was magical. Thank you so much!

We have enjoyed the tasting menus throughout this past summer/fall and we both felt all necessary steps were taken to guard against the virus.
Food always outstanding and I am pleased to know that the tasting menus will likely continue next spring.

This may be the best high end restaurant in America, or possibly just the best for me. Far less pretentious and expensive than Blue Hill at Stone Barnes, equal or superior (and much much cheaper) that Per Se or French Laundry, but in that class in terms of style: a many small course Prix Fixe menu sourced locally, an always interesting wine-pairing if you want it, and about a two hour experience. Unpretentious, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and great care with Covid restrictions. We've now been about 4 times, and had consistent experiences. Of, course, you have to be in rural coastal Maine to enjoy it, but it's worth it.
We expected it to be excellent and it still exceeding our expectations- it appeared each night might be a little different which wets our appetite to return again! Excellence-Wow.
Had dinner tasting menu twice and, earlier in the year, lunch once. Highly recommend. Lunch is lovely outside on the new expansive deck - favorite was the octopus. The oyster/clam/mussels dish for dinner was out of this world. Also, loved the salad-like dishes. We stayed three nights in a cottage with our dog - the hiking around the venue is five star and we loved the privacy of an ocean front cottage (Rosa Rogusta). Thank you.
My impression is that Chef Devon is truly a culinary genius. Each dish was astonishing in both taste and presentation. This was a tasting menu, so I didn't know if I would feel like I had eaten enough. By the 7th course, out of 10, I was reeling from how luscious and stupendous, and filling each dish was! I can't recommend this place highly enough. Every aspect is so carefully thought out. The staff are friendly, knowledgable, and perfect in their service. The place is stunningly beautiful.
I can't say enough about how incredible Chef Devin and her team are. The tasting menu and cocktails were sublime, seating was spaced more than 6 ft apart, and everyone but diners was masked at all times. Other precautions included no seating at the bar, and far fewer diners per seating than the spacious dining room usually accommodates.
As always, Aragosta is spotlessly clean and details are well attended to. We had a table near the fireplace, with a view over Goose Cove, the ambience was, as always, relaxed and elegant. Waitstaff is wonderful- knowledgeable, attentive a pleasure to interact with.
The tasting menus included several surprise courses, and featured locally sourced seafood, meat and vegetables. Plating and presentation is spectacular, and the food itself is so. damn. good.
In short, we highly recommend!!

The dining experience is simply exquisite. I am not sure which we liked the most, the beautiful plating, the attentive service or sunset. We love this restaurant.
Because of the pandemic, Aragosta is only offering a tasting menu this season. That may sound limited, but the presentation, creativity, and quality of the dinner was absolutely fantastic. The dining room was set up for safe social distancing, the wait staff was both totally professional and friendly. The cocktail I ordered (The Great Pumpkin was delicious.) And again, the dinner was spectacular.
Best dining experience EVER (9 course dinner). I have done wine tasting dinners in California Wine Country and dining at Aragosta exceeds the taste, service, and experience of any of those. Food must come first, and it does; each course is impeccably put together with unexpected ingredients that burst in your mouth. Each petite course is just right. Even the presentations are whimsical and perfect for the location. The service is perfect - you never feel rushed, they pause to answer all your questions, you really feel like a Guest. The team at Aragosta appear to be perfectionists, having addressed every little detail of your dining experience, even with Covid. An unforgettable evening.
This is the third time we have eaten here in as many months. The food and service are always outstanding and well worth the drive. Do not miss a chance to dine here if you can.
To start, we didn't know it was going to be a tasting menu or table d'hôte, wondering as they began and continued bringing us these tasty tapa nuggets of scrumptious delectable servings. At first I kept telling my wife... "you know, we haven't even placed our order". We queried our gracious waitress who set us straight. From that point, we relaxed and coasted downhill through 2 hours of an incredible, taste bud bending experience. Unforgettable!!

Perhaps the most special meal we've ever had--absolutely amazing service (thank you Matt, Marvin, and Dan!) and ambiance while the tasting menu was superb. This was our first time eating at the Goose Cove location--we'd been to the old downtown Stonington spot before. As expected Chef Finnigan outdid herself-- a few favorites were the tempura lobster, Acadian Redfish, and the final beef dish. Will be dreaming about this meal for years to come, and can't wait to find an excuse to come back!

We had a remarkable experience there last summer and enjoyed repeating it this year. The restaurant is offering a tasting menu only at this time. Ours consisted of 10 different items which included hors d’oeuvres, seafood, pasta, chicken, beef and dessert. We ordered the wine pairings also, and I sampled some great new types. Great service, ambiance, flavors.
Devin Finnegan is one of the best chefs in America. And people are just starting to realize this. Her flavors, presentation and service are all superb. And the setting is a dream. The best meals I had this summer were on the Aragosta deck as the sun was setting, the water was rippling and the food was divine. Bless you Devin bless you.

The driveway is treacherous at night. Needs more lighting and some direction to parking. Staff could not have been better - just right, engaging but not too familiar. Food was excellent.

We only get to visit once or twice a year in September. I was a bit taken aback my the menu....trying to decipher main dishes from the list.

It turns out we love this tasting menu style....trying different things. Most suited my taste wonderfully, not so much the tuna....but that is just my taste.
We will have to wait till next year, and do it early during our visit so we can fit in two dinners.

Our first meal out since the pandemic began. We felt very secure with the service protocols. The food was as outstanding as we remembered from last summer. The best of local produce and seafood. Beautiful location. Terrific service. Such a special place!

Everything about dinner was superb. The chef has crafted beautiful dishes and staff are very friendly. Worth the drive out and the price as well.
Lunch was very disappointing. Small portions, high prices!
Fruit shortcake was awful. 3 little berries on top of stale biscuit all for $ 8.00.
We were greeted rudely upon arrival. The young man asked if we had reservations but never asked our names and then turned his attention to a man with whom he got into an animated conversation about golf while simply leaving us to stand there uncomfortably.But when we receded, the Service was superb. I liked that one of our servers said “my pleasure “when we thanked her. She really seemed happy to serve us
