Arcwood Wine Bar
Always great, very unique and delicious dishes....Great prices, and yes, best hamburger in the valley!!! A regular casual night out stop for us!!
My wife and I went recently for the first time and we can't wait to go back.
Food was lackluster. Cheese and charcuterie plate had two cheeses. Two huge slabs of bland Brie and some smoked Gouda slices. Rest of food was ok but I exciting. Wine was fine. Just not somewhere I’d go again, at least until the restaurant has worked out kinks.
such a great date spot! mushrooms & seafood jambalaya we’re out of this world
Enjoyed the food, staff, and ambience only thing.... they ran out of chicken other than that awesome place to dine.
First, I had requested patio seating IF the heaters were repaired. (I ate there a month ago & the heaters were broken then). They told us there was not seating available inside except at the bar, which we accepted because there was no alternative other than leaving the restaurant. The seats at the bar are uncomfortable & you can’t sit close enough because your knees are smashed underneath. The first dish was the roasted Brussels sprouts & they were overwhelmed by the flavor of vinegar. Then we got the roasted corn salad which was way too hot. I couldn’t eat it, it gave my husband heart burn. They were out of the chicken, even though it was only 7:30. The potato tacos were ok. The Wagyu burger was way too rare. And in spite of sitting at the bar, no one ever asked us if we would like another glass of wine. Very disappointing experience overall.
First of all, the wines were delicious. I had a Portuguese red, which was full-bodied and tasty. Wife had a French. Also wonderful. Next, we shared the wild mushrooms, garlicky and warm. Then came the corn bread. Finally, we had the skirt steak. All the dishes were warm, tasty and very nice. No complaints.
It’s a small restaurant but nicely decorated.
We’ll be back.
The food is very tasty and good. The service is ok.
Small room very simple. Cute.
Nice find. The food was amazing.
The entire experience was more than I imagine it could be. Chef Dom is extremely talented. I would eat at this place 5 days a week if I lived closet
What a revelation - Arcwood was everything I've been hoping/wishing for in a neighborhood restaurant and have regretfully missed out on until my first visit this week. Compliments to the superb chef who expertly handles the entire kitchen SOLO, and our server was cheerful and attentive. I had heard that since they keep staff to a minimum, sometimes service is slower. We did not experience that, but I would recommend not going in a rush. You will miss the opportunity to savor the fantastic fare they offer. There was not a single weak spot in the variety of foods. We tried everything from the charcuterie, to the cornbread, two varieties of shrimp, catfish, Brussels sprouts, Tri-tip, honestly, there isn't much on the menu we didn't try. Each dish as good or better than the last. Great to share with friends so everyone gets a taste. We will be back again and again and look forward to supporting this fine establishment for years to come. My only regret - that I waited this long to walk in. LOVE Arcwood.
Always great....very unique dishes !!!
If you love good wine choices and great small plates, then this is the place for you! Come support this small business!
I've been here twice and it's always amazing .The food and wine pairings are inspired and delicious. The waitress was attentive and made good suggestions. Highly recommended.
We had a quiet dinner at Arcwood on Sunday evening. I had driven by so often and really wanted to try it. I was a little disappointed overall. The place is nice and cosy and the patio was warm with the heat lamps. The food was just okay, heavily salted as quite a few reviews mentioned. Portions were a lot smaller than shown in the photos and we left a bit hungrey even after ordering quite a few items. Waitress was nice and friendly and did her best but she was on her own with a lot of tables and bar customers.
Food was very salty, but otherwise rich and a good variety.
The ambiance is lovely!
Never ever disappoints. Thank you for always providing excellent food and service.
Food was good but I prefer the old menu. This one is mostly Cajun so the other one had more variety.
The food is actually pretty good. A lot of solid and tasty apps to chose from. But if you order any of them, be prepared to wait. There is only one person working the kitchen. Way too under staffed for this menu. The outside patio could be a nice place for friends to hang.
The lamb was exceptional, the rib eye phenomenal. The chefs are really great!
My friends and I love coming here to catch up. The food is outstanding. Everyone here is super sweet and it’s become my favorite restaurant.
Love eating and drinking at this place. Everything I’ve tried from here was delicious! They also have a great happy hour
Literally my favorite place to be
Arcwood never disappoints.
Charming establishment with delicious food & great and friendly service.
Will definitely return!
Great place to meet friends, drink wine and share delicious food. Great service and and a nice patio setting. We will definitely be back soon!
The food is amazing!!! Make sure to try the lamb. I can't wait to go back.
Went with a group of girlfriends who were visiting LA. Hostess wanted to seat 7 of us at 2 small tables since 1 of our friends cancelled last minute. Had to ask twice to please give us the 3 tables already set for us so we don’t have to squish together. Reluctantly she said ok, and walked away irritated. Waitress was helpful with the menu, but interrupted us screaming loudly over our heads throughout the meal. Food was average, although the Brussels were amazing. They were out of the chicken unfortunately. I’m a bit disappointed since I’m a neighbor, and was looking forward to eating here for quite some time. Not sure I’ll go back, or recommend. Shame.
We love the new all-tapas menu. The food was great and every time we come it's even better than the time before.
love the amazing new menu - New Orleans my favorite place
What a lovely find! We sat outside unexpectedly, but with the heater on, it was perfect. Our server couldn’t have been better and each dish was more delicious than the last. We had the mushrooms, the green beans, the Brussels sprouts, the ribeye, and the chicken. The mussels were good, but not as great as everything else.
I’m actually going back Wednesday evening and looking forward to it!
Great evening at Arcwood. We ordered almost all of the veggies at the top of the menu and they were delicious. Service was friendly and relaxed, and the wine choices were excellent. Great place to get together with friends.
Outstanding food. Will be back for sure. Wine could be chilled slightly, but otherwise it was great!
The manager always goes out of her way to make sure we are happy. Love Her! Food is really good, but miss the burgers and some of the old choices. :( Also if you guys could put the house wine carafe back on for weekend nights that would be great. We drink a lot of wine. hahahahaha We do luv your restaurant and have been patrons for a long time. The shrimp dish is amazing as well! Thanks for the great service. See u soon!
Almost all the food was INCREDIBLE! Brussels sprouts, corn bread, dirty fries all exceptional. The chicken however was inedible...so tough and rubbery. I asked what the fish of the day was, and the waitress went back to ask the chef. It’s an open kitchen concept...so I was able to see the chef rudely tell her he didn’t know and clearly didn’t care. Even when she mentioned it was for a customer. That was ridiculous
We needed a restaurant that would be open on a Sunday night (often a problem) and discovered Arcwood on Open Table and it looked interesting. Turns out our dinner companions knew about it because one or two of he adult kids really like it. The only downside is that we sat on a patio right on Ventura Boulevard (near Yolanda) and there was a lot of street noise - which can't be helped if you want to sit outside. Had we eaten inside at one of the few tables there, I don't think we would have had a lot of noise. The menu had a lot of great sounding dishes - for the four of us we ordered 6 of the choices and liked everything we ordered! Though they are "small plates" mostly, the portions of most of the small plates were quite large We ordered 2 of the salads, 2 of the bread dishes, sauteed mushrooms, and a browmie and praline sundae. The cost was very reasonable and we'd definitely go back again.
We were a group of six and dined outside. Highly recommend the cornbread, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, and shrimp and grits. The chef came out to say hi which was a very nice touch. Would definitely go back again!
Arcwood has become my "go to" spot for any kind of celebration or gathering with friends. The menu and wine list is incredibly varied and everything my guests and I try is better than the last bite. Just insanely good food and ambience for a great price.
Great waitress and great sharing plates. Good selection of wine. Had a great time w great company and food comes out fast and perfectly timed.
We love this place. It boasts a great assortment of wine to go along with creative food choices. It's a great place to spend an evening!
