Asa Restaurants | Los Gatos

This was our first visit to ASA South. We were not sure how the outside dining would work, with COVID concerns and all. They have done a great job of keeping guests safe wile retaining a very pleasant ambiance.
I was to redeem $10 worth of points from Open Table at this restaurant. I had designated so. When it came time for our bill to come I included the paperwork with our credit card. The on-duty manage let us know that management had terminated their relationship with Open Table due to fees earlier in the week.
They were very kind in this uncomfortable situation and comped us our dessert. High praise for them. Noe I cannot reachanyon at Open Table to get my points reinstated. Too bad...

Delicious food and Wonderful service as always! One thing to point out: you'll need to double down on heating lamps as it is getting chilly outside....

Food was great, but unfortunate mishap with reservation.

Me and my fiance went to celebrate our anniversary and booked this place a couple weeks out and requested the table to be under the tent (inside).
When I got there the table that was available for us was not inside. It was at the edge close to the parking lot. My fiance was not happy. So before we sat down I told the host that we requested inside. The host told us that he will grab us a table inside as soon as possible. So we sat at the outside table in the cold at the edge of the parking lot, with my fiance dressed for the occasion, we saw multiple parties park and get sat down inside the tent before us. My fiance seeing this wanted to leave, I had to persuade her to stay and wait a little longer. Eventually we got our seat half an hour after our reservation time.

My fiance was upset and quiet the whole dinner. I enjoyed eating the food atleast, I cant tell if she did. Im sure this is a great place, with great service, but we were unlucky and the night was ruined :(

Excellent service. Don and his staff was very kind, accomodating and helpful. Don helped us reschedule to any earlier slot. Though the kids were at a different table and made sure that parents were close enough.

Great experience at ASA once again. Don the gracious host that he is, made sure we were well taken care of at our table and also on the table for our kids.

Kudos and looking forward to visiting again.

We were celebrating a birthday and we had a lovely evening. It was a very cold evening, but the heaters worked perfectly and our patio dining was very comfortable. And, as always, the food and service was excellent. The cauliflower soup was amazing and the Ling Cod special was great. Dinner at ASA is always a treat!

Absolutely fabulous restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is truly customer service oriented. Highly recommend it and will be back many many more times

ASA is doing a great job, wait staff is great, wonderful cocktails and the food is fabulous. Lamb shank was super and the bread pudding OMG!
Winter will be challenging under the tents.

As always, we had an amazing meal and experience at Asa. We always order the soup because whatever the option, it is delicious. I ordered the lamb shank and my better half had the ribs and we were both very happy with our selections. Ended the night with the chocolate sorbet-fab! You can never go wrong here.

It was my Birthday, our waitress was very efficient even though she had a lot of tables to attend.
I love their mushroom pasta and love their banana bread pudding

Had one of the best meals in years on a recent throwback Wed which was Trout Zarandeado dusted with ancho and guajillo chili, pan seared, oven finished, served with diced heirloom tomato, potato/kale salad dressed in chipotle crema.

This restaurant has pivoted magnificently during Covid with cozy and lit up tents coupled with their signature class A service.

We really enjoyed ASA. We were outside, but near a heating lamp. It was a little
chilly, but not too bad. We shared a salad, which was very good and we had an
entree, plus we shared a desert and had cocktails. It was a little on the pricey side,
but not bad.

Wonderful from warm host welcome through cocktails to delicious food. Squash with amazing orange sauce, great side Or entree!!Wednesday specials always a delight.

Love the bold and fresh flavors at Asa. From cocktails to dessert it is on point with a nice and safe outdoor patio.

ASA is a hidden treasure in LG. Have eaten there about 10 times and while not every dish has been excellent, they are very good to excellent. And the best part is they are continuing to improve. My favs are the clam appetizer (although I wish it had more clams, but the brother is TDF), the Paella Valencia, the chicken and the Argentine steak!.

Best paella I’ve ever had! Service is always exceptional.

The outside dining area was done with much thought and consideration. Really relaxing atmosphere, quality tents, cozy lighting and heat lams made for a wonderful evening. The menu is eclectic and lots of options. Cocktails superb, wine selection great, and the Paella is not to be missed! Was like a deconstructed paella on top of crispy rice cakes and flavored perfectly.
Dessert menu offered a nice selection and in addition to the after dinner port, topped off a fabulous dinner out(side). Will definitely return soon for a safe and delicious dinner again.

Decided to try a new restaurant to celebrate the birthday of a friend. Great menu of fresh tasting items... especially loved the Pasilla soup.

That being said, the service was very slow which can be ok but it was a bit inattentive, especially given it was on a Tuesday evening.

In addition, the portion sizes were pretty small-- three of us women ordered a bowl of soup, salad and two entrees to share and we walked away hungry.

Food and drinks were pricey... I like good food but there is pricey and there is Los Gatos pricey.

Asa never disappoints. Of course we’re still not indoor dining but the patio setup is quite good and given that the hotel that is the major operation sharing the parking lot is not that busy, there is very little traffic coming in and out.

The food was amazing, as usual. This time we had the soup, a really awesome silky poblano pepper soup and the Caesar with anchovies. We couldn’t decide on the entree between the Argentine steak and the mushroom pasta. Thankfully they offered to bring us a half order of the pasta so we could have some of both and it was worth it!

Thanks again Asa team. Can’t wait for the next time.

Birthday with friends

We celebrated 2 birthdays and had a wonderful time. The food and service was excellent as always. The new covering over the patio made outside dining very enjoyable. Asa is the best in Los Gatos!

A great “go to” restaurant. The menu has a few more selections from our last visit. Great variety of foods and economics. Something for everyone.

Excellent food, service and “ Parking Lot Ambience “. They have taken a challenging situation and turned it into a great dinning experience. If you’ve not tried it, you are missing out. Go! You won’t be disappointed!

Rich the owner was hands on and very gracious. Staff was on point and fairly fast but not rushed. Everyone was happy to be there and the food was delicious! Will definitely return and hopefully these stupid Shelter in Place mandates end soon!

Great food it was a flawless meal!

Surprisingly pleasant experience! Great cocktails, friendly and on point service. Food is refreshingly tasty and flavorful without excessive salt, garlic, cream, grease or spices. We had the garlic shrimp (recommend), baguette (so good, I usually don't eat bread at restaurant to conserve my carb consumption, but I ate almost the whole thing withe garlic shrimp sauce), crispy trout (excellent) and Lamb shank (tasty without being too heavy like other restaurants). Will definitely be back!

Excellent. Off the beaten path, and worth the exploration!

wonderful dinner. Everything fresh and well presented and I liked the portion size. The grilled vegetable appetizer was really good, we had the carbonara pasta and the grilled fish of the day (black cod) which were fabulous.

Love going to ASA they have made the Covid dining outside experience the best of any of our Los Gatos restaurants so far!
Consistently good food and great staff.

We enjoyed dinner under the "new tent" at Asa this week. As usual we were greeted warmly when we arrived. The new tent has partitioned areas which help you feel safer and the tables are sufficiently placed apart. Our trout and mushroom pasta meals were up to the high Asa standard and we really enjoyed them.

First time dining at Asa and will definitely be back. The pork & beans was simply delicious!!
