Hawkes Bay is one of New Zealand's oldest wine regions and classic Bordeaux varietals do exceptionally well there. This rosé is made from Merlot and Malbec and will offer ripe apple, strawberry, watermelon and tangy citrus notes

Fresh and crisp with a short to medium finish, this varietal tends to be richly aromatic and this wine is no exception. Notes of ginger, honey and quince dominate the nose, while the palate displays notes of pear and lime

The Pinot Gris opens on an intense nose of the classic Pinot Gris aromas of pear, peach and honeydew melon along with some more exotic notes of apple blossom, grapefruit and pineapple. The palate is dry with crisp acidity and shows lush, ripe and intense peach, nectarine, baked pear and lots of lemony citrus zest on the long refreshing finish

On palate is pleasantly fresh, balanced with elegant tannins the main feeling is the luscious smoothness and floral fruit

This wine offers a good mouthful of fruit flavors, some tropical as well as tart tree fruit hints and a spicy note

This wine is all about texture and length. On the nose, it's meaty with hints of toast and honey-dew melon. On the palate there's richness and weight, a slight "grippiness" in the mid-palate and a long mineral finish. Good now, and will age for 5-7 years. Enjoy with cheeses, firm fish

Deep, clay with ultrafine limestone particles high in calcium and minerals is the base for this delicious late harvest riesling. The nose is all about bright apples with just a whiff of honey. On the palate, it is refreshing and light allowing some of riesling's juicy notes to break free and further brighten the finish

Take the time to stop and smell the 'Viognier'; a beautiful aromatic wine showing notes of fresh peach, tangerine, apricot, honeysuckle and lilac. This dry, medium-bodied wine has fresh, fruity flavors of peach and tropical fruit, lightly accented by floral notes. Lovely notes of tangerine, floral and spice linger on the finish

This medium-bodied white, with a slightly rich mouth feel, is bright straw-yellow in colour with a bouquet of ripe apple, pear, pineapple and yellow plum. A rich and complex wine both on the nose and the palate. Aromas of honeyed pear and peaches are accompanied by notes of vanilla and exotic spice. The palate is creamy and full-bodied with great length. Pair with rich and creamy pastas and soups, seafood dishes including lobster and crab, as well as roast chicken and pork dishes

"A cool long summer delayed harvest for several weeks in 1999 until September when we experienced hot spells. At that point, many grape varieties were ready and coming into the winery all at once. With our expanded crush facility including rotary fermenters, we fortunately had no problems getting grapes in while maintaining excellent conditions. Because weather was generally cool through spring and summer, acids were consistently high for the Sonoma County Chardonnay harvest. The 1999 Sonoma County Chardonnay is nicely balanced as a portion of the wine was barrel fermented complementing the acid and fruitiness. Ninety-percent malolactic fermentation in the blend imparts a round and full middle and a lush finish. The final blend has a fragrant nose of ripe banana, fresh nutmeg and pear. Fresh tropical fruit, sweet lemon pie and spiced apple flavors are complemented by light vanilla bean notes and a crisp, lingering finish. The creamy texture follows through to the mouth where a vanilla-cream flavor is accompanied by sweet fruits of peaches and pears. Helping to yield a perfect balance, the finish exhibits just enough citrus to retain a brightness of fruit. I like to drink our Sonoma Chardonnay with a light grilled vegetable pasta or a simple grilled chicken breast with rosemary." This is a quiet, very elegant focused chardonnay with very subtle, well integrated aromas of toast, lemon, apple, hazelnut and fine herbs. It's mid-weight, very firm, fine and elegant, with excellent length

The 2015 growing season delivered another great vintage. A mild winter with a dry, warm March caused early bud break. Colder temperatures and light rain in late spring stunted cluster development which ultimately led to smaller grape clusters and berries. Summer temperatures were mild and ripening progressed slowly and steadily with intense flavors developing early. This vintage exhibits concentrated aromatics and deep color

This single-varietal Cabernet Franc begins with complex aromas of cherry, raspberry and toasty vanilla, followed by vibrant flavours of cherry and bramble fruits with a lingering finish of spice and chocolate. It has weight and intensity that will allow it to age for several years, and an uplifting acidity that make it a perfect match for seared duck breast with a raspberry jus, or with lighter flavored game meats

This red is firm and full bodied, showing good Okanagan character along with ripe currant fruit hints

Intense red, clear with violet reflections. The bouquet offers intense dominant fruity notes of strawberry and raspberry which blend harmoniously with floral aromas of roses and sweet almond desserts. On the palate it is balanced and musty. The finish is persistent with a marked correspondence between the bouquet and the taste

Purplish color fairly sustained. Fruity nose with a discreetly vegetal background. The palate remains on this aromatic palette. The wine is balanced on a rather rigorous register

To make Tuli, it begins by searching out Pinot Noir grown in Sonoma County vineyards planted along the cool Pacific Coast. The diversity of Sonoma's vast coast allows us an amazing opportunity from the start to blend subtle with supple, to unite bright berry tones with luscious brambly pie filling. The wine is aged eight to nine months in French oak barrels, melding exuberant sweet spice tones with berry fruit and velvety smooth tannins for a soft, supple wine

A deep garnet in color, with aromas of allspice, cherry and black plum. The palate lifts with violets, ripe strawberry and a lovely hint of French oak

This Pinot Noir is a bright, deep ruby red. The first olfactory impressions are of a complex combination of spices (cardamon, cinnamon, vanilla), black fruits, cedar, and earth. Flavors lean toward black fruits; black cherries, black plums, and blackberries. Medium-bodied, the wine is viscous and rich with firm, sandy tannins. The finish is long with a nice balance between sweet, ripe fruit and soft, chewy tannins. Drink now or cellar three to four years

Bright violet color. Ripe cherry and dark chocolate on the fragrant nose and in the mouth. Fleshy and smooth on entry, then firmer in the mid-palate, with a hint of licorice appearing with air. Closes on a spicy note, with good clarity and refreshing bitterness

Bright, floral, fresh on the nose with viognier peeking through, the palate is a mix of violet covered black fruits with a strong smoked ham undercurrent. The style is modern, almost Australian in some ways, suggesting it will be easier to drink in its youth. Smooth, juicy and elegant, with tannins are barely perceptible, this works with anything grilled

Offering scents of ripe plums and cherries, this wine is powerful and supple, with flavors of French oak and soft tannins

A bouquet of dark cherry, strawberry, forest floor and tobacco open the wine. The dark cherry is mirrored on the palate, carrying through to a savoury mid-palate where the finely integrated tannin takes over and carries through to a harmonious finish of red berry, wild sage and cherry

Slightly reduced on the nose upon opening. Earthy, cedar, tobacco, olive aromas preview some black fruit. The attack is soft and round with warm, spicy, savory blackberry, black cherry fruit flavors. The finish is medium long with a touch of heat but not a lot of tannin

Deep brick red in color. The Legacy bouquet delivers alluring aromas of raspberries, fennel, and rose-mary. Black licorice and cassis greet the palate, while lush tannins of marzipan and cocoa develop with each sip. A soft yet structured mouth feel is complimented with notes of blackberries and leather on the finish

The wine is opaque garnet, almost to the rim. It has a youthful, medium intensity nose, with a mix of capsicum, dark chocolate, ripe plums, dark fruits, and hints of sweet spice, oak, and vanilla

Reserved and tight black fruit, cherry is stencilled with fine grained spices and granite to a pencil lead finish. Tannins are firm, and there is great energy tucked into this youthful wine, ready to evolve with cellaring. Proper cool climate pinot noir, and an impressive one

The entry-level 2009 Pruno is predominantly Tempranillo with dollops of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged for 12 months in seasoned French oak. Opaque purple in color, it offers up a brooding bouquet of earthy minerality, Asian spices, incense, and assorted black fruits. Velvety-textured, sweetly-fruited, layered, relatively forward, and lengthy, this seamless effort admirably reveals the strengths of the great 2009 vintage and is a superb value to boot. Drink it over the next 5-6 years

Violet aromas emanate from the Malbec, red fruit flavors and structure of the Cabernet gives excellent length, whilst the jasmine perfumed Petit Verdot brings firm tannins as does the Tannat which adds even more textural complexity

Garnet red in colour. On the nose the wine is intense and persistent, with strawberry and black cherry notes and woody flavours on the palate. Medium bodied with good tannins, well balanced by clean acidity

This rendition leads the charge with tantalizing aromas of black cherry, raspberries and blueberries along with hints of oak. It then gets really serious with a cascade of fruit flavors, and a long, fruit-forward finish

Dark in color, the wine begins with aromas of black currant and blueberry. On the palate, the fruit is ripe and intense - black cherry, black currant, mulberry - but also vibrant, with spicy notes on the finish

Nipozzano Riserva 2008 greets the eye with a deep purplish red color. The nose is remarkably rich and multi-faceted, showing cleanly-delineated aromas of sour cherry, raspberry, and dried plum, lifted in turn by spicier impressions of black pepper, vanilla, cocoa powder, and espresso beans. A warm alcohol complements its smooth overall texture in the mouth, and a clean, vibrant acidity and silky, well-integrated tannins contribute to an impressive elegance. An almost-endless finish, with abundant aromatic fruit, completes a harmonious, well-balanced wine

Conundrum Red Blend has a nose that is almost floral, with tones of lavender, dried berries, baking chocolate, bacon bits. Aromas are rich, velvety and wonderfully appealing. Silky round entry with acid to balance and high fruit concentration. The nose leaves no doubt about the seriousness of this wine. The palate is fruit driven both before and after the high tannin middle core. The finish is long, not drying of tannin and beckons a second sip

A rich garnet color with a ruby edge, the wine opens to reveal lifted fruit aromas of bright strawberry and jammy fruit, mocha, and vanilla, along with toasty oak notes. Expressive boysenberry, blackberry, dark cherry, juicy strawberry, and toasty mocha flavors lend complexity and depth on the palate

This exceptional release offers up vibrant red cherry aromas that mingle with alluring cola, sweet spice and coffee bean tones. The palate is generous reflecting this vintage's near-perfect ripening conditions. Brambly fruit flavors combine with black licorice and classic earthy notes. A QUATRAIN is a poem or stanza that is always composed of four lines. This 2010 hallmark wine is similarly composed of four grape varieties: Merlot 40%, Syrah 20%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%, Cabernet Franc 20% John Simes, Mission Hill Family Estate's chief winemaker, has carefully crafted the 2010 vintage of this exquisite wine. The grapes were selected from the best blocks within our estates in Osoyoos and Oliver. They were hand harvested, hand sorted, and gravity filled in small lots to French oak fermenters. After extended maceration, the free run wine and a portion of lightly basket pressed wine was aged separately in a selection of 100% French oak barrels for 12 months. VINTAGE REPORT: While the 2010 growing season posed some significant challenges, the estate vineyards on the east-side of Osoyoos Lake and Black Sage Bench overcame the late bud break, cool conditions during flowering, and an unusually cool summer, eventually yielding some exceptional fruit, albeit at moderately reduced yields. Tight pruning regimes and careful vine and irrigation management all came to the fore in allowing the relatively low-yielding "Quatrain blocks" to reach desired maturation levels with optimal phenolic ripeness. TASTING NOTES: The 2010 Quatrain is an elegant wine, boasting red berry, black cherry, eucalyptus and cedary spice aromas and flavours. "A cool long summer delayed harvest for several weeks in 1999 until September when we experienced hot spells. At that point, many grape varieties were ready and coming into the winery all at once. With our expanded crush facility including rotary fermenters, we fortunately had no problems getting grapes in while maintaining excellent conditions. Because weather was generally cool through spring and summer, acids were consistently high for the Sonoma County Chardonnay harvest. The 1999 Sonoma County Chardonnay is nicely balanced as a portion of the wine was barrel fermented complementing the acid and fruitiness. Ninety-percent malolactic fermentation in the blend imparts a round and full middle and a lush finish. The final blend has a fragrant nose of ripe banana, fresh nutmeg and pear. Fresh tropical fruit, sweet lemon pie and spiced apple flavors are complemented by light vanilla bean notes and a crisp, lingering finish. The creamy texture follows through to the mouth where a vanilla-cream flavor is accompanied by sweet fruits of peaches and pears.
