Aubaine Notting Hill
Overall dissatisfied with the place. We ordered Eggs Royale in the Breakfast bundle, as well as an americano + omelette.
For the bundle: the croissant was absolutely bland, cold, not airy and bubbly. Very much like buttery bread. The Eggs Royale has a weird-bitter-sweet Hollandaise sauce and the poached egg was overcooked (the yolk was solid).
The omelette has almost no taste and was cold. I wanted tomatoes and cheese on the omelette and could not believe that 1 cherry tomato could cost £2. Basically very disappointed with the breakfast and the price.
The coffee is another story. My americano was SO Bitter, I did not even drink a 1/3 of the cup. The beans evidently are not fresh and have been opened for quite a while. My friend’s mocha was also cold and extremely bitter, despite the chocolate powder.
Please look into this critique and try and improve it.
Really understaffed for sunday breakfast and very abrupt service. Food standard has really dropped but unfortunately not the prices so extremely poor value. What a shame as used to love Aubaine and used to recommend it to others.
Service was very poor. Staff seemed uninterested and it felt like they didn't want to be there. Orders took a long time to arrive. Ordered some drinks on arrival and it took more than half an hour for these to arrive. The food was ok.
Excellent service and delicious food in an attractive setting
Fantastic service, great food. A little too much on the expensive side, though.
Hi Jasev, Thank you for your great review! We hope to see you again soon.
Perfect place to have a brunch, food was very good and we love the design of the place.
Only con if i can say was that i waited at my table without a glass or menu and it took roughly 10min for the staff to checkout if i need anything (despite walking by my tables several times).
Overall, very good experience and defo worth going :)
Hi Emman, Thanks for sharing your experience dining at Aubaine! We’re so glad you enjoyed your time with us and are grateful for your feedback.
Waitress asked to clarify our order 3 times and then got it totally wrong. ! Bread is a laugh it’s the smallest of crusts toasted I’ve ever seen - I asked for no salad and so my husband got no salad or tomatoes and I got no crusts !!! Eggs were ok though so at least we didn’t starve did our £26 ! Coffee was nice but come on guys give a bit more effort
We’re very sorry to hear about your experience at Aubaine; your satisfaction is very important to us. We would really appreciate it if you could email firstname.lastname@example.org with the details relating to your visit so that we can investigate this further. Thank you.
Lovely restaurant, but the food is PRICEY and the portions are small. The food quality is fine, but not really good enough to justify the price.
Very over-priced menu. These prices are for top-of the range restaurants. In reality, Aubaine really offers nothing more than bistro food. My guest ordered a beef fillet, which arrived rare rather than medium. You pay extra for all sides. Very little included with the main dishes. Bread baskets and ordinary butter packs are charged 5.50. Other guests ordered an aubergine vegetarian dish which was barely warm on arrival. Service was somewhat indifferent and nonchalant - I get the impression that customers are more of a nuisance in this restaurant. Overall, you can get much better value from one of the nearby family-run restaurants on Westbourne Grove or in S. Kensington.
I came at a complicated time as they were serving Sunday breakfast
It has potential and is nicely located, the food is correct but expensive
Lovely staff, great food, really nice place to visit, went back for drinks the night after our dinner! Would happily eat here again
Service was awful. Food was pretty good and portion sizes were good but perhaps a little over-priced.
Lovely setting and location just off Hyde Park. Food has lots of options. Great for brunch and lunch.
Food was excellent. The beef carpaccio was particularly fine.
Ordered Chicken Paillard. Had it previously- it’s been on menu a long time with a signature recipe: tomato garlic lemon olives - Provençal style. What was served was tasteless meat with chickpeas and one or two tomatoes, not cooked together so no fusion of taste. Awful meal. Overcharged hugely at £19. Not going back to Aubaine….
A local. Food is ok, but has become expensive for what it is.
Hadn’t been here for 2 years so was surprised to find the same place/vibe had gone ‘upmarket’ with much higher prices and the option for caviar additions. The individual dishes were all tasty and well presented but I felt that the cost of starters made us avoid them, even for sharing. Staff were friendly, and service was timely, and the pistachio éclair was good too, if pricy at £6.50. It falls into our ‘special occasion’ category now, rather than ‘everyday dining’ when staying in the adjacent Hilton.
A wonderful fine dining experience. Quality very high standard of food and service. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next day for breakfast which was also excellent! The restaurant was extremely busy but the staff apologized and maintained great customer service. Great restaurant highly recommend!
Has become more expensive.
An old favourite but prices went up recently.
The food was the best and worth it! Even dessert yummy! I enjoyed the ambience and love the waitresses ☺️
The venue had no AC. The waitress was intimidating. When I complaint about the poor quality of the salad, she started speaking yo me in raised voice.
Never going back again
My kids ordered cod and chips. It had vicious smell
Great food and good attentive service
Excellent wagyu burger and fries. Friendly, attentive service.
Lovely staff, beautiful restaurant. Brunch was absolutely delicious and how could we say no to delicate french desserts. Just one minor improvement the WC facilities required a code which we didn’t know and it was not clean.
Meat was tough
Scallop appetizer was wonderful
Great brunch! Service was attentive - would recommend.
Amazing quality breakfast and very friendly staff
The service was very poor.
A lot of the food we want they had run out of.
Food was very bland and bad quality
Lovely brunch by the park with friendly efficient service
Amazing service! The waitress who served me was great. Deffo recommend ☺️
Friendly and professional* staff. Fast efficient service. Food was excellent.
*Except one male staff who was quite rude to a couple not wearing masks but said nothing to others who came in not wearing them.
Nice location across the park. Great for brunch. Good selection of drinks and affordable.
In truth, the service was friendly, but extremely slow. The food arrived cold, and was mediocre - overall a very disappointing experience.
Nice cafe of the “park”
Our server was lovely and very helpful. The restaurants is in good area and food was tasty.
Nice place and delicious food! We booked a table in short notice by mistake because of an error on the booking system but the manager kindly sorted it out nicely.
A great lunch despite the lockdown conditions and the rain :)
Incredible service and delicious food! Definitely going back. The wait staff was prompt, helpful, and generally happy. The food was rich and fresh, try the lobster pasta!
Good and fast service and the restaurant was clean. Eggs florentine were delicious and well presented. Great, smooth espresso! Nice location overlooking the park and lots of space outdoors for seating comfortably while maintaining distance with other tables.
