I love Axel’s!! The ambiance is so relaxing in an upscale way. The food is delicious and so are the drinks!! The staff is attentive and personable. I can’t wait to go back!!

We had dinner the night before the spring 2020 COVID shutdown at Axels & we thought it was fitting to have dinner again the night before the Winter 2020 shutdown. We just love Axels. Great service & great food. Wish them nothing but the best during these crazy times!

Our waitress Roxanne was very friendly and personable. Got us our drinks quickly and brought our food out just as quick! Our new favorite place!

Completely disappointed. Took my daughter there for her birthday. We order two beef filets medium rare. Had to send both back - both undercooked, one was nearly raw throughout the center. My replacement filet was butterflied which made it tough. The cut of meat was not good quality - sinewy. Not a good filet mignon. Not worth $42. Won’t be back.

It was a delightful evening out with my fiancé. The food tasted amazing, especially the butternut squash puree with the scallops. We were fortunate to have a trainee working with us and he was attentive and provided great service.

Patio table was crooked. Food was great. Service was ok.

Prime rib was awful - took 2 bites and couldn’t chew it was so tough.

I had the Sirloin and my husband had the Cioppino. Both of our meals were scrumptious! The service was outstanding, as always! Axel's NEVER disappoints! And we feel extremely safe there. They are doing an excellent job of social distancing and disinfecting! We look forward to going back!

Had to send baked potato back cause it was cold. Value could be better. I would expect AT LEAST meat and potatoes as an entree. Here to get a potato with your meat you need to pay extra or order the higher priced choice. Will probably go elsewhere next time I’m hungry for a good steak dinner. Actually wish there was a Longhorn Steakhouse here.

Celebrated mother in-law 86 birthday. Wonderful place. Will definitely come back.

This was the only reservation we could find on short notice. Now we know why. The biggest issue was the Saturday special lobster tail which you had to preorder. The preorder wasn't an issue. When this was delivered it was obviously under cooked. In addition to that, the sides ordered were incorrect. When the correct side, a baked potato, was delivered we asked for extra butter. The server's response was to use the butter another person had at the table.

Great lobster special! Terrific, friendly service. Please bring back a rib special dinner too!

I ordered the walleye which is highly renowned, but mine was served less than hot as well as the asparagus which was under-cooked that came with it. Should of sent it back, but that would of disturbed the special atmosphere of celebrating my wife's birthday.

Location was nice, but the food and service were not great. Food was overcooked and the server was not very attentive. Disappointing especially on a Saturday night.

This used to be a staple for us. Not only did they limit their menu, the Prime Rib was dry and the steaks wasn’t the quality we were used to. Great service and atmosphere though.

Overall the food and service was fantastic. My only complaint there is the Alfredo Potatoes were over-cooked.

In my opinion, a 400% markup from what I would pay retail price for on a bottle of wine is little much.

If you order a Grasshopper after dinner ask for two straws because it is gigantic and easily serves two!

If social distancing is a concern for you they are doing a pretty good job. I would say mask compliance between guests and staff is 99%.

Food was good. We went to try the Friday night fish special. It’s been a while since we have been to Axels. We were pleased with the evening out and enjoyed the pop overs that they serve. The special was only offered deep fried which was fine, but would have liked to be able to opt for different choices, but I get it because it was their special. Look forward to having another meal with Axels soon.

This was quite a great surprise! The ambiance was wonderful the food was delicious and even though there was a mishap with the preparation of my steak they were quick and happy to make it right!

Overall I'd say that the Axel's experience has gone more casual since the pandemic. Our dinner and cocktails were great, but lacked the usual upscale touches. The walleye and steak were high quality and well prepared. The menu seemed paired down (i.e. wild rice not given as a side dish option and the bacon on the wedge salad was not the thick cut kind). Also the popovers were not wrapped in linen napkins and delivered to our table lukewarm. I understand that restaurants are on survival mode and are doing what they need to do to make it, but it wasn't quite the same.

Had to be the poorest old fashion I ever had it was like drinking sugar water ,and manhattan was that great.

Scallops were very fishy tasting and smelling, filet was not only over cooked/dry but smelled and tasted like it was smoked. They did offer free dessert, but we expected way better food from an axels restaurant

In spite of my request for a quiet table in the rear dining room, we were originally seated in the bar just outside the restrooms—probably the worst table in the house. The second table was good, but why? Why did we have to go through the reseating, embarrassment & stress. At our second seating, the server was awesome and we enjoyed our evening. The drinks were good, the mussels, popovers, mushrooms, salads and steak were great. The walleye and lobster were fair, at best.

This restaurant has the possibility of being great, but rather consistently lacks quality food.

Unfortunately the quality of food has significantly declined. Our popovers were burnt and cold by the time we got them. The salads had lettuce that was brown and my potatoes came out still frozen in the middle. We were sat in the middle of a walkway so even though we were 6 feet from other tables everyone had to walk around our table to get into the room we were in. So unfortunate because we have been dining at Axels for years and loved celebrating our special occasions there.

Great food and service. My only concern was the overall crowdedness during the COVID-19 era. Seemed like there was not enough distancing and that capacity was more than 50%. I won’t return during the pandemic.

Not what we remembered or expected. Service was great. Food was mediocre at best. Several of the onion rings were over cooked. The pop overs were slightly warm and over baked. Vegetables were over cooked and limp (asparagus and green beans). Sirloin steak was good but the accompanying garlic mashed potatoes were luke warm. Choppino was very good but over spiced, which we were not informed about. Walleye fingers and french fries were excellent.
