It was our first visit, so I don’t know if my experience was atypical. It might have been an off day for the chef. My companion’s veal was rather tough (overcooked?) and my pasta was undercooked (tougher than al dente should be). The ambiance was nice. The service was excellent, so we didn’t want to complain directly to anyone.

Amazing! The bread that we were served to start was warm and yeasty. We ordered a bottle of delicious Chianti and enjoyed it with Bolognese over rigatoni, farfalle in tomato sauce, lasagna and linguini in broth with chicken. All were spectacular!! And the servings are huge.

The restaurant interior is a bit dated but still an enjoyable experience. Good food. As with many restaurants the entrees are waaaay too large. Serve reasonable portions and charge less!
This is a restaurant that I attended frequently before the pandemic. Pleased to return and see the owner and several staff members that I knew and that remembered me. A very pleasant evening.

Was a busy Tuesday night, our server, evan was very attentive. However, the food was not up to Azzurros usual standard.
Service was lacking
Always great service and food! We started with Vodka martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives paired with the "Zucchini fritte" antipasti. We enjoyed the Caeser salad followed by the Orrechiette Azzurro with herbed ground sausage, Broccoli and shaved parmigiana. The dinner was outstanding and the service was top notch. My favorite neighborhood restaurant again and again.
All was good. Only not positive comment is my pasta was not al dente, was overcooked. The taste was excellent of the sauce
What a wonderful experience! We had a staggered arrival due to flight delays. The hosts, waiters and everyone on staff were flexible and gracious. The food was outstanding. Our out-of-town guests enjoyed everything about our dinner. Thank you!
We have enjoyed Azzurro with friends/family for many years! Numerous special occasions celebrated there and always staff friendly and efficient. Food is a given,
so no need to expand on any aspects of any entrees-always delicious!

It was my partners birthday. We didn’t expect a birthday candle in the gelato and the food so delicious. Definitely will be back and recommend to others
Service was fantastic and the wine was great, but the food was no where near the expense or as high quality as the menu portrayed. The interior was a bit old fashioned as well. Overall it just wasn’t our vibe regardless, however the food was subpar but expensive. Not a combo that will have us returning.

My father wanted to eat outside on the patio and have seafood pasta. This worked out really well, he liked his linguine with sea scallops and garlic. I enjoyed my fish special with good veggies. My father got a martini the way he likes it, and I had a very nice Italian white wine by the glass. The patio is a bit close to the road, but their greenery has grown up to seclude it some, and we were very comfortable. A convenient option for us, we'll go back.

We ate on the patio and it was a nice quiet meal with great service and food. We always come back to Azzurro since they have excellent specials and a well trained staff.
The service is tough because there is little help to be found.
The owner was so nice and we saw him literally jump through a spraying water sprinkler to help his clientele.
This is our favorite Italian restaurant in Richmond and first time back without masks. Staff are great and even nicer seeing their smiles again!

Outstanding evening with good friends and food.
It was our first visit- for our wedding anniversary which I notated in my reservation. What a lovely restaurant! Our table was sprinkled with heart shaped glitter and it was a corner table near the window- so sweet! The food was very good- best gazpacho! We were too full for dessert but they brought tiramisu out on the house- and that was so yummy! We will be returning for sure!!
Our hostess was very sweet and accommodating. Our server, Kat, was very knowledgeable and friendly! We loved our food, as always. Had the mozzarella prosciutto and lasagna that never disappoint! 10/10 recommend.
We were there for dinner on June 13. Food was good, ambience was nice, but the service was very slow. I guess the problem was in the kitchen. I hope this can be corrected.

They need to train the staff not to interrupt the people dining. The waiter’s and waitresses should stand beside the table and wait for the customers to look up then carry on.
Food is always good, I had steak medallions this time. They were tender, although smothered in too much sauce. My husbands fish was good, but a bit overdone. The appetizers were perfect, the calamari was fried just right and the scallops were great. The dessert, cheesecake, was light and delicious.
