As usual, another amazing meal at Baldamar! Even with so many unknowns today and tomorrow's looming state-wide closures due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we had incredible food and service for our "last meal" out in who knows how long. The manager was even kind enough to buy our dessert - excellent end to an amazing meal! We will be back as soon as restaurants are open for dining again! Thank you again Baldamar!!!
Wonderful experience as always! this was my fourth time there and will be back
Baldamar has a great Sunday brunch buffet - highly recommended!
We went for the Sunday buffet brunch. Food was good. The ambiance was great, but it was a fairly noisy space, even when it was not very busy.
We appreciated the change in the the brunch buffet! (servers serving us vs each person helping themselves) Also I feel the staff went above and beyond with their service, refilling our glasses and coffee cups. Also I noticed that you sat people further away from each other. I know this is a hard time for restaurants right now. We were happy to celebrate my daughters birthday at Baldamar. The art work is fun too!!
Had buffet. Liked the many choices. Cheesy potatoes were very good but other items were not exceptional.
Sunday Brunch could be better. Needs more variety and better quality food.
Birthday and retirement
Great food and service from Marie. We will go back soon.
Great food and service! Such a beautiful restaurant. My husband and I enjoy your HH once a week. Love it!
Everything in terms of service and ambiance was great. Steak was pretty good, not great
Our overall experience was good. The restaurant came highly recommended. Only the food came up short of expectations. Eateries that are considered high end have to be on top of all facets of a dining experience. I would consider you close to it. I will try your establishment again in the future to be sure. Your competition is hoping you come up slightly short of expectations again.
By far the best dining experience in 10 years. Waitress Tamara was beyond excellent in her attending to our needs. Warning, some entrees can be larger than you would think. But, sides (mashed potatoes, roasted corn) are smaller and based on our experience, was only enough for one person. Still would recommend them highly.
Phenomenal. Above expectations. Great environment, upscale yet comfortable. Appetizers to entrees and deserts exceeded expectations.
Menu was typical upscale steak house with some interesting choices. Food was very good. Servers were friendly and prompt. Nice atmosphere and ambiance, totally forgot I was next to a shopping mall.
This was our 4th trip to Baldamar, which has quickly become our favorite restaurant in the area. As usual, everything was first- rate from start to finish. We always find new dishes to try as the menu, while not huge, offers a nice variety of options. Service has been uniformly excellent. While we were initially leary of the mall parking lot location, the interior is really quite nice. Highly recommended.
Overall I was pretty satisfied. The staff is informed and attentive. There is a nice mix of cocktails and wines to choose from off the drink menu. The meat has been aged perfect and the seafood is flown in fresh daily. Not too noisy and tables spaced well. Pricey for what you get but hard to find something to complain about. I would recommend getting the street corn as a side dish if you want some extra kick with your meal.
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Our server, Andrew, was outstanding!
Excellent experience as always. Their happy hour menu is wonderful! Highly, highly recommend this place!
We were there. for lunch on Saturday Our waiter was very informative and mentioned the lobster sliders which were excellent along with clam chowder very enjoyable luncheon
Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful, was only hoping the aged steaks were of even higher quality for the price paid..?
The oysters were overpriced. I ordered the ribeye at the recommendation of the server and it was thin, dry, and overcooked (I asked for it medium)-worst ribeye I’ve ever ordered and expensive. The drinks were creative, the service was good, but the only menu item we enjoyed were the fries with the 3 dipping sauces (very good) and we were hoping for a good steak dinner. $250 later....good fries. We will not go back. The Outback does it better for much less money.
We have been to Baldamar several times before and I was a little disappointed by this latest visit compared to previous ones. There was just a vibe of indifference in the restaurant that evening that I can’t describe. The hostess was quite obviously not happy and should not have been working that night and our server was not what we have come to expect from this restaurant. He did not have knowledge of the specials for the evening (barely could describe and could not make recommendations when asked) and he did not pay attention to drinks at our table. One of the cardinal rules of being a server is to constantly monitor the drinks at the tables you are attending, especially when alcohol is being consumed, as I know this is where a lot of money is made in a restaurant. Because our server seemed inexperienced, I tested him to see how long it would take before he noticed my first drink was finished (and it was in a small martini glass, so the empty drink was very visible). It took him almost 20 minutes to realize that I needed another drink, and this was very disappointing.
On top of the marginal service, we asked for salt and pepper with our meal. The salt was fine, but the first two pepper shakers were empty and did not have peppercorns in them (I opened them and looked...nothing).
This, in my mind, was either poor training and/or inexperience on his part and we likely just went on a ‘bad night.’ Regardless, as a business owner, people feed off of the owner or manager, and I would suspect there was a bad back vibe going on behind the scenes, so I am tentative to really rate this place poorly at this time. Previous visits were wonderful and I am hoping this was just poor timing.
Otherwise the food, as always, was excellent!
Amazing food and service. A bit pricey, but worth it. Highly recommend this place for any reason. You will thoroughly enjoy.
Our server was was very professional and knowledgeable about the history of the owner and business and the food as well. It was a nice treat to be fine dining and not be downtown
Everyone we had contact with were amazing! It was a great experience!!
The ambience and did here is great, I’ve been here twice now.
The reservation reminders sent to my email failed to account for the change to/from daylight savings time and alerted me that I was 15 minutes late for my reservation when it was actually 45 minutes ahead.
This is one of my favorite spots in the twin cities. I had the Italian chopped salad and it was delish. One if my friends had walleye and it was even better! If you haven’t been, get in gear. You’ll enjoy your visit.
This was our first visit to your beautiful restaurant. Our server (Alecia---sp?) was absolutely wonderful...so knowledgable and helpful regarding menu choices. We tried the two steak offerings....both were special. Can't wait to return and try a few more items. We are so excited to have this high quality restaurant in the area!
We had excellent service and the restaurant is beautiful and the food is delicious!!!
the service was outstanding and the food was excellent.
We celebrated a birthday at Baldamar and enjoyed the experience. The confetti on the table was a nice touch. The food was excellent especially the steak. Our server, Maria was phenomenal.
Every time we go to Baldamar is excellent! The food is amazing and the service rocks! I wish there were more restaurants like Baldamar in our area!
We were sat at a 2 person table in the middle of two other tables- too close of quarters when there was plenty of other seating open. Our server was great.
Incredible on all levels. Will be back. Execution of incredible experience was flawless
Food and service were fantastic!
Asked for a nice table for business luncheon - put us in one of those goofy corner booths where everyone has to slide and shuffle way around and you end up looking out over the room instead of each other. Stone table top was so cold you could chill fresh fudge on it.
Chopped salad with chicken was large and flavorful.
Juicy Lucy was hot, gooey and delicious.
Grilled cheese was more of a tiny split crusty baguette with very little cheese. Tomato soup was thick and flavorful with fresh herb garnish. Soup was actually garnished with a thin strip of an actual grilled cheese on sliced bread. I preferred that to the actual “sandwich.”
Glassware and dishes and table were high quality and felt good in hand.
Server was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
Will come back for happy hour apps and evening entrees.
We were blown away by both the service and the food. Our server, Andrew, gave us excellent advice on what to order, and also steered us away from things that he didn't think were as good. We loved the sriracha wing; they were very flavorful, cooked to perfection and actually spicy which doesn't happen very often in Minnesota. Steak was excellently prepared and seasoned with only salt and pepper which let the meat shine through. The burger from the happy hour menu was also great. We had a wonderful experience and were amazed to find such great food in suburbia, especially considering the location in a mall parking lot. We will be back.
Jenn was great! She was friendly and knowledgeable!
