This is such a great casual spot! Food is an inventive take on classics and the ingredients are so fresh "farm to table" style. Atmosphere, even during Covid- is warm and friendly. Staff is great.

Not following Covid guidelines. Food took over an hour to come out. Restaurant was at capacity.

The food and service were fantastic, but we were seated upstairs next to two large parties (8-10 people at each table) literally only an arm-length away. There is no way the seating was COVID compliant. A little plexiglass partition would easily remedy the issue and make it much more comfortable and safe under current conditions.

Great food and great atmosphere, I would definitely eat there again.

Food is reasonably priced. It’s not bad food but everything tastes very strong and heavy, and worse, very salty. Thick cream and heavy sauce. If you don’t mind salt, it maybe ok.

Loved the food and overall experience. Would definitely recommend to all!

The service was incredible. Everyone was attentive, friendly, & gave perfect recommendations. The salmon with cacio de pepe risotto was amazing. The macaroni & cheese, filet, Old Fashioned - delicious.

Great place right in downtown Newport. Wednesday all you can eat pasta and half price bottles of wine was a great deal. Food was good and prices reasonable. Seating was spread out and a very comfortable distance from other diners so they have the COVID precautions down . I would recommend this for casual dinner, lunch, or drinks/apps.

Bar and Board was phenomenal. My daughter and I went on a Saturday night during COVID/Christmas and were seated right away. Atmosphere is a 10/10. Server was super sweet. Wish I remembered his name. Seemed to be tending the entire upstairs by himself. Quick to refill our waters and checked in on us often. Music was a super chill vibe. Food was outstanding. Can’t wait to come back on our next trip to Newport.

Was there in the summer and enjoyed the outdoor area and had a wonderful time dining indoors in December! Brought friends with us and they were thrilled with the whole evening.

The Salmon and risotto were amazing! Best I have ever had! The cheese plate was delicious and the drinks were good too. Drinks are a little overpriced in my opinion, but very yummy nonetheless. Definitely will return!

We were a rowdy bunch but the restaurant and the patrons took it in stride. Everyone couldn’t stop raving about their meals. Thank you for an incredible experience

Came here for Resturant week. The service was awesome. Everyone was super nice! We had a great 3 course meal and are excited to come back the next time we are in town!

This was my first visit to Bar & Board & I thoroughly enjoyed it. During Covid, nicely spread out tables, wonderful ambiance, excellent food!

Food was tasty, drinks were yummy. Service was ok, but I understand she was seated a large party right after us so I think we were forgotten ex. No side dishes for our appetizer so we had to awkwardly eat over the same bowl, dishes not being cleared timely. But it was overall a good experience and we will likely come again

Cool setting, very easy to find a d parking was a breeze.
My sister and I enjoyed tuna tartar, burrata, and the salmon with cacao e pipe risotto. Done perfectly, served in a timely way, the evening was a complete success. We would go again.

Amazing bartender

The bistro board was incredible as were the drinks, entrees were pretty good as well - we ordered shrimp and grits and the linguine with clams. They could use some sound dampening, but overall we really enjoyed our time.

Food was excellent. Ambience was nice. Service was the worst we’ve ever had, at an establishment that was otherwise top notch. The waiter took forever to take our initial drink order, didn’t clear any appetizer plates and paid us next to no attention to us. Our dinner plates were never cleared and any thoughts of dessert vanished, as we had to get up and ask the waitress for the table next us for our check.

Our dinner with friends on Sunday evening was a very pleasant experience. Out waitress was excellent as was the menu selections and food preparation. We look forward to the fall/winter menu

Came here with a group of 8 on a Saturday night. Was able to get a reservation easily. All the food we got was great. Our server was attentive and sweet. The only small hiccup is that we received a speciality Old Fashioned cocktail that seemed to be half empty. When I asked about it, I was told it was "aesthetic." After a slightly strained conversation, the manager brought over a shot glass with some more, which was very appreciated. They accidentally sent jalapeno martinis instead of dirty martinis to two of my friends, and immediately rectified the problem. Then sent us a round of shot to apologize. Overall we found the food very good, the atmosphere really nice, and the service great!

Everything was fabulous. And our waiter was awesome.

Had a short weekend getaway to Newport and noticed this place on an evening walk, and the only open reservation was 9pm the next night. It was SO worth it! We ordered the shrimp and avocado appetizer then the swordfish and tuna dinners. Everything was delicious... I will absolutely plan another dinner here when I return to Newport!
