Bardea Food & Drink
Waiters were good with knowing the menu. The fish was amazing. Also the bread was warm and delicious.
Arrived early and noticed a nice table was available when I inquired was told that was reserved. Did not notice I could select a individual table when I made the reservation. I hate to say it but I have noticed that when I go to a high end restaurant like Bardea with a black friend we usually get the seat near the kitchen or bathroom. Not the same treatment as when I show up with a white date.
Food was excellent and Bailey was an excellent waitress however due to the way I was treated upon arrival I will never eat there again and would not recommend them to anyone I know.
Delicious food and excellent service.
Well-prepared well-presented delicious dishes. Have dinner before you go.
Every single menu item is exquisite.
This was our third time at Bardea, which has never failed to disappoint! A good server can make all the difference, and Bailey's enthusiasm and knowledge of the food added to a good experience. We ate every bite of our Bronzino, and what the chef did with rutabaga brought tears to my eyes! Always interesting to see how the chef makes almost inedible veggies into masterpieces. Lovely ambiance, and it was clear that social distance and other precautions were followed closely. Again, thank you Bardea, for being you; for being open in these trying times and giving us something humanizing to look forward to. Wishing you continued success.
Best restaurant in Wilmington!
My husband and I are originally from Chicago, so we know good food. In the eight years of living in Delaware we have struggled to find a restaurant we love that is consistently good across every dish, every time. Because of this, I was skeptical to try Bardea, expecting it to be another disappointment. I was so happily surprised!
The atmosphere is nice: candlelight, wood floors, a fun wrap-around bar in the front, and wide banks of windows for people watching. The service was good; our server was very attentive while not hovering, and she was able to answer all of our questions fully and accurately.
The best part, of course, was the food. Bardea's menu is meant to be shareable, and we tried five of the dishes. I couldn't believe how flavorful everything was. There were a few things that we were unsure of--like pasta in a pistachio cream sauce--but it was all amazing. The wines were also lovely and not the run of the mill options you get at so many "upscale" restaurants. The prices were pretty spot on as well--good sized portions of amazing food for a reasonable price.
We ate on a Thursday night, during Covid, so I can't speak to the noise level when the world begins to turn normally again. It was very quiet when we were there--only a handful of other diners.
We're excited to return to this restaurant! I would encourage you to not hesitate; it's the best we've had in eight years of living here.
Very nice birthday toast and sparkler! Thank you!
Great dinner and drinks and fast service. Expresso Martini's were Delish!
A wonderfully memorable culinary experience!! Fantastic!!
Outstanding all around...just a suggestion...when severs bring out the food...maybe have them explain how the dish was prepared... otherwise outstanding.
Will be back!
Best ambiance in Wilmington! Consistently great service, social distancing in full effect, excellent cocktails. The dishes on the updated menu were superb.
As usual, the food and service at Bardea was outstanding!
As always, our favorite! The garden dining was a great addition.
Great service. Mediocre food. Portions have gotten smaller over time. Calamari was tough and tasted burnt. Pasta was over al dente. Ribs are tasty were tender.
In addition to the indoor dining, Bardea has outdoor tent area that is heated. It was really cold this past weekend so we were skeptical but as the host promised it was nice and warm in the tent and it had great ambiance - lots of plants and lights. As usual the food was very declious. We really love The burratta toast, prawns, calamari, and the homemade pasta dishes we each got. Love the coctails there too - especially the limoncello spritzer. Love this place and will definitely be back.
Probably our 4th time visiting since Delaware reopened inside dining. Food was the best we’ve had in our 4 visits. So nice to have a legitimate dining option that’s not in Philly. One negative is the music...it’s so flipping loud! Conversation is difficult at best.
It was excellent although the heater turned on with cold air in our direction which was uncomfortable.
fancy and delicious. The portions for a bit smaller than expected for most of the items, even ones not in small plates/appetizers...but this is meant to be a special dining experience. We were seated in the new little outside tent/garden dining area with only 4 tables and we had a party of 8. It was warm when we first entered the tent/garden but then freezing, they could use some more heat lamps. Overall a great time with our friends for a special celebration. Our server was very kind and thorough. Will be back for a date night :)
Amazing atmosphere, personable staff, and the food is the best around. Strong attention to detail. Very thoughtful. Met the owner and head chef. I like 100% recommend.
First time going and it was great! The view was beautiful and the food was amazing quality!
Every visit is a truly memorable dining experience. Best restaurant in the state.
We had the best time and the BEST meal. Every single thing we ate was amazing.
Catch of the Day
Banana Pop dessert
Very enjoyable evening, loved the variety of flavor experiences.
Went because of Restaurant Week and was worth it. We tried the avocado (YUM), lamb skewers, meatballs, gnocchi (two orders), a pizza and pastas. The finishing touch was chef's selection of desert. which was small, but appropriate. Instead of only 3 courses, they offered 4. Thinking of going back for take out avocado and gnocchi, it was that good!
Love the vibe also the fish
Difficult to order because everything is a la carte or tapas. Food was scrumptious, but details were a bit overwhelming. Not sure what portion suzescwere but our waiter helped tremendously
Great innovative menu. I like the outdoor seating options - with propane heating.
Best meal I’ve eaten in Wilmington. Excellent waiter who made recommendations. Each dish had very unique flavors.
Absolutely every part of the experience at Bardea was out of the world. From the drinks, server’s suggestions, and decor, to the mouth watering and unbelievable reality of every single bite of the menu we sampled. We cannot wait to come back.
Had a lovely evening with another couple. Service by Willie was exceptional (boy do they wash a lot of plates and silverware) :)
Drinks, food, and company - all 5 stars!!!
Extremely fancy place
Booked reservation for restaurant week but found out when we were seated there was no restaurant week menu, so the meal was a bit more expensive than planned. We were excited to try the food as we had heard such great reviews, and we ordered about 7 plates to share and were mostly pleased with the quality of the food, but much of it didn’t live up to the hype or price tag. The pizza was by far the best dish we had, so next time it’ll probably be one of the only things we order.
Overall a good experience. My waitress was awesome. Forgot her name but young nice girl that worked Wednesday evening.
My wife and I celebrated our 11th anniversary at Bardea, and it was such an awesome evening! The owners wrote us a nice note on our menus, our service was amazing, and the food was so freaking good. Loved the design of the interior, and the complimentary valet is a really nice touch. We'll be back!
Bardea was delicious! Food was great, service was fantastic and quick, it was a really aesthetic restaurant and great atmosphere. Only negative - it was pretty loud and noisy.
We were here to celebrate October at Bardea. Its become our go to restaurant when we want our excellent dining fix. We ordered small plates and a pizza for our meal. The "Nonna's Meatballs" is my favorite. We had the ribs (Least favorite) and Lamb Skewers which are always a hit with us. The wings were also a hit. We had the Margarita Pizza which was terrific. All in all we had an excellent night.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary (belated) with dinner at Bardea. I am a pretty good home cook (if I do say so myself), so when we go out, we want something special. Each plate we shared was interesting, innovative, beautiful and most importantly, delicious. The service was impeccable. We really appreciated the filtered sparkling water for a nominal fee and a full bottle for us to pour as needed (I've gone to 5 star restaurants and waited for a refill of water, which really bugs me). We are already talking about going back in the near future.
My wife and I went to Bardea for our anniversary. It was our first time out to dinner in a very long time and our first time to Bardea. We could not have been happier with our evening. The food and service was top notch. The atmosphere was elegant but laid back. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I loved the waygu pizzaiola - the broth was amazing. My wife's favorite was the pumpkin cake dessert. Everything was delicious - we also had snapper tartare and the rib eye with mushroom tart. I had the cheese cake for dessert. It is so nice to have this restaurant so close to home. We will definitely be back.
