Basta Pasta - Eldersburg
We have been here dozens of times and never a bad meal ! In fact, the one thing I can say is that the food and service are consistently fabulous. Madison took great care of us. The crab toast is never to be missed. Lasagna like no one else makes- I mean, who else makes their own mozzarella cheese in house!? Crab cake and lamb chop special was out of this world. As was everything else we ordered.
A place to frequent and not to miss!! Fabulous owners, fabulous staff and the most fabulous food.
Great waiter great food
Always get an awesome meal, just wish tables weren’t so close together. Staff is awesome!
Basta pasta is the neighborhood gem that it claims to be with one minor note. The one hostess will stare you down until you decide to leave. My group and I went and spend over $200 for just the four of us and once this hostess felt we had been there long enough just stared at us until we were done. The food is absolutely amazing and the waitress was friendly and attentive but if a laid back dining experience is what you want this isn’t the place. Come in with purpose, eat your delicious food and leave before she makes you feel like you haven’t spent enough to still be eating and drinking your food. And she’s been there every time I’ve been to Basta Pasta and every time has been the same. Stare at me if you must but I’m going to take my time and enjoy all the wonderful offerings your restaurant has before they are ruined by your awful hostess. Don’t worry we’ll be back but for carry out (although if you need help with this she won’t help you either “you’re at the wrong stand”). Might be awhile but till next time Basta Pasta!
Fabulous place. Ambiance is wonderful, service is spot on and food was delicious! Always a pleasure.
What can I say about Basta Pasta? A lot! This restaurant is a European oasis in the middle of Eldersburg! Can you believe it? The food, drinks, and desserts are simply outstanding. But it’s more than a restaurant. It’s a place to hang out and see the locals and chill and just enjoy fine dining and good friends. Let me start with the soups which are not to be found elsewhere -- crafted by master chef Yanni. Comfort doesn’t begin to describe his delicious and savory stews/soups/stoups. To die for. I officially nominate him as the Soup Meister of 2019 (and 2018 and 2017 when they first opened). Food Network would be lucky to have him as a master chef. And if you’re looking for the best prepared steaks that melt in your mouth then this is the place for you. I’ve tried the steaks elsewhere and I’ve been all over but Basta Pasta has without a doubt the best steaks you can ever want. Succulent and juicy and cuts like butter. Don’t know how they do it but they do! Forget the “steak houses” and come here instead. I have to mention that the crab cakes are simply the best I’ve ever had. So meaty and tasty…the kind you’d only find in the best seafood restaurants. Do yourselves a favor and get the crab imperial and you won’t be sorry. And now I must acknowledge the wait staff. They know how to treat their customers and know the menu very well. They will make your dining experience so pleasurable. They take their skills and bring it to your table as an art. Can’t say enough good about them. They love what they do and it shows big time. I like sitting in the bar area with the wall televisions. Their Happy Hour will make you VERY happy. Great selection of foods and drinks. During the warm season there’s a beautiful outdoor seating area for dining al fresco (and you can bring your fur babies with you). Reserve your place with Open Table because seating goes fast and it’s no wonder why. I have to stop here because … I’m heading back to Basta Pasta! Se
Great, attentive service from Tony. Excellent food. Becoming a favorite venue.
Food and service fantastic!! Thank you Sarah M for the best service.
Excellent dinner as usual. Although the restaurant was very busy, the wait staff was attentive. I do wish they offered more low carb offerings. I would like to swap out the noodles for spinach but there is an up charge to do this.
We requested a booth. Understandably, depending on how busy it is, whether they can accommodate patron's request. At first, the hostess said they didn't get requests, then she said they saw it but didn't "put it down". She then went on to say that the booths were are reserved. Fine, then we will take a table. She wanted to give us a small table. I replied that there were numerous larger tables. She said "no that is the one you have to take." At that point I walked out.
I go to Basta Pasta once a week, or once every other week. I've never had an issue until that afternoon.
We eat here several times a month and the food is always outstanding! Love this place!
Josh was a great server, very attentive and accommodating. Great drink menu.
The restaurant was full. Our waitress was nice but seemed hurried and disappeared a lot. Our appetizer came out before we had plates and silverware. We had to ask for bread and salad. I ordered my usual. Risotto Milanés. I have to say the portion seemed very small and more vegetables than risotto. My slice of coconut cake also seemed much smaller than usual
The portions are too big, but for the price nice to have leftovers. The salad and bread that comes with the meal is delicious! I got chicken piccata and my friend chicken Marsala. Both were good, and we both chose roasted potatoes. The potatoes were not fully cooked, burnt and had a unusual sweet taste to them, which we did not like. For dessert, we ordered cheesecake and chocolate cake. The chocolate cake is enormous and shouldn’t be $12! Decaf coffee really gross! Overall, good for main dishes.
Basta Pasta has become our new favorite restaurant.
Restaurant had a very industrial feel to it. Not cozy at all. Constant draft from entrance. They should have a 2nd door added in order to cut down draft. The food, however, was very good and the portions were bountiful. Although we still thought our bill was quite high for just 2 people. Our server was nice but seemed overwhelmed.
wish you would offer spagetti squash instead of pasta
Went to hear a band, and they were great. Bar was really nice. Servers were friendly and efficient. But this is a Pasta place (says so in the name) and the pasta was very overcooked. Mush. The shellfish tat was in it was perfect, not overcooked at all and delicious. If there’s a next time I guess no pasta.
Food was spectacular. We live 5 minutes away and always thought this was more of a bar than a restaurant - Green Turtlish. After 2 years of living in the area we decided to try it and were delightfully surprised. Not fine dining although the food is the best Italian we’ve had In years. Atmosphere is far from a bar on the restaurant side. Our new go to for Italian.
Glad to see the consistency in the food quality, service and ambiance has been built to be a stable neighborhood gem. See you again next week! Thanks!
That was our best experience at Basta Pasta. The food was really good. The specials of the day, Expresso Martinis and the seafood dish were delicious. The waiter, and I unfortunately, forgot his name, was exceptional. He was attentive, knowledgeable and very personable.
Food Beyond Expected Strip Mall Restaurant
BP always has wonderful crab cakes. Tonight no exception. Dining partners really enjoyed the glazed salmon and seafood pasta dishes. Portions more than ample. Desserts were divine. Chocolate mousse cake could be shared by 3 or 4. And the cheesecake (freebie for the birthday girl) was terrific. Our waiter, was absolutely the best. It was crowded but he kept everything moving.
We have dined here on many occasions, and all were very good. Not so on 11-1-19. Our advance reservation got us stuck in a window/door front table in full sun, which I instantly refused. Then we were placed a four-top bnquette, w hich had been st for six...perhaps six chid-size people but not normal adults. Bad start. Food was good, service excellent.
The best crab cake in the area. I think Tuesday is their crab cake special day; but any day is good for their crabcake.
Good food and plenty of it. Friendly service and a pretty quiet atmosphere.
Food was alright, not great was consensus of our party.
Celebrating a birthday. Our server was very pleasant. My mom HATES lemon & she did ask for a soda without lemon & it came with one. He took care of it & was very nice about it. Our crab tasted a little off. Not bad, not great. My husband ordered a steak & crab cake & it was very pricey compared to other similar restaurants. I really liked this place but I was a little disappointed with the crab last night. :(
Always good food and service.
Always love to eat here. Great food and service. We had reservation and we were seated fast. Very crowded and a bit loud. But I’ve been there in quieter times too. Always a good meal and service.
Always enjoy Basta Pasta in Eldersburg. The crab cakes are excellent as are other offerings on the menu.
What a wonderful restaurant! Service was incredible as was food! It is a neighborhood gem !
First time at Basta Pasta and was pleasantly surprised! Had heard good things but wanted to try it for ourselves. We arrived made reservations and were promptly seated in the midst of a very energetic atmosphere. The décor is pleasant and the booth we sat in was very comfortable. We ordered drinks they arrived within a few minutes. After we ordered our main courses a huge bowl of delicious salad and bread was brought to the table. The salad was really good but the bread was out of this world.
When our entrees arrived we were surprised at the huge portions. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan and it was excellent. One of my friends ordered the Lasagna and actually finished it and said it was the best he had ever had. My other friend had the Spicy Fettucine and loved it. I didn't finish my Entrée because I wanted to try the dessert menu. I certainly am glad that I did that because I ordered the Coconut Cake and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Best I have ever had!
This place is amazing and so is the food! My only "complaint" is that it was really loud and noisy but I guess that could be from the happy people that were enjoying their dinner.
Try it! You too will love it!
Table right in direct path for kitchen. So wow busy. Knocked into many times. So yea. Not such a good table for first time visit. Stuffed salmon with as fettuccine was ok. Tasted a bit interesting. Strong sour taste. Crab cake nice size. Asked for blackened salmon no real taste or seasoning. Was ok. Large portions for sure. Hubby got chicken dish was enough for us both to have second day meal. Will try again when in area but don’t think I’d make a special trip. Was way crowded with lots of crowd waiting
To be seated once we left about 615 pm. So lots like it for sure !
We were all very pleased. My son had a great b-day celebration. Our server was great!
The food was superb. The service and customer service was outstanding. To me this is the place to go for Italian food. They have a variety of dishes and you can’t go wrong with what you select. Try it! You will definitely go back.
Celebrating our 1 year wedding Anniversary
Basta Pasta was recommended and did not disappoint. Our server, Joseph, was exceptional. The menu was loaded with great options...although I vote for putting gnocchi back on the menu! The appetizers were awesome. (Give the fig, goat cheese, and honey appetizer a shot; you will NOT be disappointed. Everyone enjoyed their meal, served with a salad bowl and bread basket for the table. My Veal Oscar was a delight. You will enjoy ample servings. We all took something home. We shared cannolis for dessert. It was a busy Saturday evening and their was a great piano player in the bar area. I would plan on coming early or staying after and enjoying the music, too. Well done, Basta Pasta. We’ll be back!
We have never had a bad meal at Basta Pasta. We had the Maryland Crab dip which had lumps of crabmeat. The Maryland Crab and cream of crab soup did not disappoint. The house salad was fresh and the hot bread sticks were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Yummy. We all opted for seafood entrees. The imperial orange roughy and imperial shrimp were large portions. Our friends had the seafood pasta and crab cakes. We were stuffed. The prices were more than reasonable for the portion size, and the wait staff were friendly and went out of their way to get us whatever we requested. We will definitely go back.
