   If you want to have a special evening, this is not the place to go. I had a reservation booked for 7 PM and arrived accordingly. Multiple walk-ins were seated before us and after 30 minutes and a nudge, they finally sat us at a booth that was open the whole time. The waiter had no knowledge of the wine menu which was pretty concerning. The waiter also didn't have much-serving etiquette and was overall pretty awkward. The food was alright at best, the steak kabab was unevenly cooked, most of the vegetables were overcooked and the steak was inconsistent. The ambiance also was very confusing. You look at the menu and the dark lighting and expect an elegant atmosphere, instead, the restaurant was playing beastie boys loudly. Just overall this place is not worth the money, if you're looking to have a special evening this is not the place to go. Extremely disappointing.

   Excellent food from appetizers to main. Good presentation. Ambience good. I think we may have had a fairly new server so service was understandably just OK. Still one of the best restaurants in town :)

   It was our first time at Baxters. The atmosphere was very inviting and comfortable. The food was fantastic! It was nice going to a place that actually puts seasoning on their meats. My wife had the porter house steak and I had the burger. The meat was seasoned very well and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was amazing. The only issue we had was, the waitress did not put our appetizer order in so when our main courses came out, we asked about it. We were not upset and the waitress and manager were so apologetic. The manager was so nice and he paid for our dessert. Our bill was what you would expect this day in age for eating at a nicer establishment, but it was worth the time I got to spend with my wife and the money. Overall great experience! As far as I’m concerned, as of right now, best tasting food in our area. Will definitely be going back!

   I had the Chilean Sea Bass, my wife had Shrimp & Scallops Scampi. Excellent service, food was outstanding, as was the presentation and taste. Our go to place in C-U. Beer was cold and cocktails solid. My sister and her husband loved everything too. Will definitely be back!!

    Great service, and good setting overall. The food, for this price level, barely meets expectations. Some appetizers and main dishes were really good, but others closer to the level served by chains. The desserts, though, were all excellent.

    The meal was excellent. Everything was great. Great selection in the menu - had to really study it ! Great service. Everything tasted wonderfully. It’s rare, but there was nothing about this dining experience with which I can find any fault. Kudos to all the good folks at Baxters!!

    Our dining experience at Baxter’s felt like we stepped back into pre-Covid times. Full menu, fully staffed with polite and friendly wait staff and excellent food. What a delight!

    Excellent upscale restaurant on south side of Champaign, away from traffic congestion. Well varied, fairly priced menu, and very good service. Big bar area that even has a bar menu available. Our waitress knew the menu well, and easily answered our questions concerning our menu. Baxter’s is one of the few restaurants in C-U that appears to be properly staffed. We’ll be back!

    Made on-line reservation for 9:00 pm, , arrived at restaurant shortly before 9:00 pm and was told kitchen was closed and that the system should not have accepted my reservation. Both employees who spoke to me were not rude, just very dismissive and uncaring.

    I had the prime rib and a couple of sides. They meat was perfectly rare, like i had asked and the salad and broccoli were fine as well. My husband ordered a burger medium rare and it also came out cooked correctly and nice n juicy, the fries were decent. We both had one beer and no dessert. Our bill came out to $75 for two entrees and two drinks. Our meals were large enough to feed us both twice. I think after tip, $90 wasn’t too bad for four meals and a night out.

    We love Baxters. Ususally go at least once a month, sometimes more. The vibe is great, drinks and food are good, and it's just a chill place for date night.

    Service was excellent and the food was great. I had the bone in pork chop and it was the best pork chop I’ve ever had. I have had pork chops at restaurants before and they were usually mediocre and I am usually reluctant to order it at a restaurant. This was the second time I ordered this at this restaurant and both times they were the “best”. I highly recommend this restaurant.

    Second time to eat at Baxters, All plates of food were perfect. Not a long wait, 1hr we were in and out, not rushed. Wine selection was good and some of out party had the Baxter specialty drinks and they all loved them. Will be going back again

    Excellent food and we ate a lot with a large variety - and simply superlative service. Kind, helpful, attentive, and one gentleman (maybe the manager) was very funny. Next trip to Champaign, we are eating here twice.

    The hostesses do not care about the customers. Our two families had 2 reservations at the exact same time and the hostesses refused to sit us together even though there were tons of tables open. Our total would have been 8 people. They sat the 1st reservation at a table and the 2nd reservation (us) in a booth. Less than 5 minutes later they sat someone else at the open table directly next to the 1st reservation. It was ridiculous. The customer comes last in this restaurant.

    Great menu, great preparations. My guest had a ribeye, prepared exactly as requested. My shrimp dish was also perfect. I go there often on weekends for prime rib which is always fresh and juicy. Drink and wine selection is also good. Staff is well trained and always friendly and helpful. Baxters is an excellent choice!
