Bay Leaf Modern Indian Cuisine & Bar - 5 Points

Everyone I encountered from the valet, to the host, to servers and to the managers were extremely hospitable. It was a wonderful dining experience. It was first time having this cuisine and I will definitely return.

My husband and I went here on New Years Eve and really enjoyed the food. There was a great tasting menu option, and I appreciated the variety of choices, especially on the appetizers. We will definitely be eating here again.

Food was amazing. The service could be better. Our server told us that we couldn’t get silverware until she had time to stop and roll some because there was no more rolled silverware. The server also complained that the restaurant takes 2 weeks to give the servers their tips and requested cash only tips.

Bay Leaf Modern Indian Cuisine literally melt-in-your-mouth chicken (malai kabab); and bread that is garlicky goodness (garlic naan). But there is so much more! The Chef goes out of his way to create a memorable experience from the start of your meal until the very end. I crave this food it’s so good! If you’re not familiar with Indian flavors, the servers are able to explain the dishes very well and even make custom recommendations. Give this place a try - they have outdoor seating and numerous safety measures in place should you choose to dine in. I’ve been ordering takeout through their website, too. Oh, and don’t sleep on the missi roti!

Server and staff were very helpful with selections. If you're not sure where to start they can help. Be sure to try their take on classic cocktails. Delightful!

Really enjoyed the meal! Our group of four tried several different cocktails,appetizers and main courses. Loved them all. Service was very good. Manager was making the rounds and speaking to all of the diners as well. Tables were well spaced and all restaurant workers were wearing mask. Sanitizer on all the tables. Highly recommend—we’ll def be back again

This restaurant deserves it’s 5 stars!! They have a knowledgeable wait staff who can help you make a spot on decision when considering your palate. Our party varied from my adult son who believes the spicier the better to my daughter who thinks mints are spicy, so it is really a testament to their variety that both diners were able to enjoy their food. I had the Vegan stuffed eggplant which was delicious. My husband had the buttered chicken and he ate his entire serving. For a party of six, everyone enjoyed their selections which is rare for us. Usually someone gets something they don’t like. Not here! If you love Indian or you are just trying new types of foods I highly recommend Bay Leaf!! You must try the Garlic Naan and the BOMBAY ONION FRITTERS! Delish!! Sorry I didn’t take any photos we ate it too quickly to remember but the presentation is over the top as well.

Excellent food that is comparable to New York Indian restaurants. The atmosphere is the perfect combination of ethnic and modern. I highly recommend the saag and garlic nan. It’s a pleasure to dine here.

Really enjoyed the food - a mix of traditional Indian and modern fusion dishes. The servers were very knowledgeable and personable. Very fun atmosphere and ambiance.

As we entered we were greeted by the server/host and were seated within five minutes. Yes hey have one of the best Covid precautions that exist in Birmingham.

The signature cocktails are so unique and one of their kind. I have travelled all over the world and these kind of innovative drinks are hard to find any where in the finest of modern Indian restaurants. Kudos to the new owners for this.

The ambience and food complement each other. The food plating is as good as the pictures, and the taste is to die for.

This is by far the best Indian food I have eaten in the US. And that’s not an exaggeration. Each flavor of each dish stands out, is novel and remains with you even after you have left. I was happy to see a small but good wine collection. Ordered by the bottle and we were not disappointed with the choice and pairing.

The appetizer tamarind beef short ribs and tangra chicken chilli were so good, that I ordered take out the next day. Main course tandoori chicken, the chicken malai kabab, and lamb korma were the best I’ve eaten, ever.

Last but not the least you got to try the kulfi falooda dessert which will make you crave for more. So creamy and flavorful with the rose syrup.

It is such a blessing for B’ham to have this kind of a world class restaurant ! I might be back every week to try the rest of the menu.

This is the newest and hottest food destination in Birmingham. The taste of dishes, the service, the drinks, the ambience, music - all were world class.

The new chef is an artist which shows in the plating and flavors. I have not had such good modern Indian cuisine in southern US. The pan old fashioned was out of the world, so were the other signature cocktails.

It was very difficult to pick a favorite dish, but tandoori chicken, tamarind glazed beef short ribs, Karari bhindi, lamb laal maas, were all out of the world. Tandoori shrimps were as good as it can get ! Vodka spiced gol gappas were innovative and tasty. Even the traditional curries were better than any other restaurant I’ve eaten at. Valet parking at 5 points made our lives very easy !

One of the best global Indian cuisines I have tasted anywhere in the US in an upscale modern environment. Not just food but the presentation was also amazing! Do not miss their signature cocktail made with "pan" leaves!
