Beertown Public House - Guelph

Server was very nice. My partner and I enjoyed our meal a lot! A bit pricy and noisy but worth it to eat her occasionally.

Lunch before lockdown. It was very enjoyable - great food, great service. My last meal with my friend before stricter controls are in place.

I had delicious fish tacos (3 of them, with a side - it's a big meal) and my dinner companion had the California Turkey Burger, which is a favorite of hers. Elevated bar food, done with great ingredients and a real appreciation for what vegetables can do to make things sing. The fish tacos (lots of fish - breaded, but lightly) include a zingy slaw that livens things up. The burger has fresh avocado, great pickles, etc. The not-too-large menu means that everything is quality. The sauces are all delicious - except that they might reconsider the homemade ketchup - it's just not needed. Good service, well-informed about the menu and bilingual!!! I find it a tad noisy but I'm not as young as I used to be. We split a bottle of wine bc wine by-the-glass is expensive, but no more so than in most restaurants - and this, clearly, a place for beer (um, Beertown). In Guelph, this is a cut above other bar/restaurants out of the downtown area, and better than most that ARE downtown. The patio has been very welcomed by diners in the university area. Recommended.

The spacing of tables was very good re Covid. Please advise Andrew, our server that he was excellent. The food portions were more than adequate and very tasty.

Beertown is fast becoming our go to casual dining favourite. Regular, vegan and plant based menus provide lots of choice for us and our guests. Service staff are really knowledgeable and able to provide great advice on food choices.
We'll be back for sure.

Very good experience, excellent service and great food. All the tables were well spaced so felt very safe in these Covid times!

Booking was easy, with your online reservation. Staff upon entering were friendly and polite. Our waitress was excellent and helped us with our beer selection. We had fish and chips, fish was great and not full of batter like most restaurants and most important the food was hot. Couldn't ask for better.

As usual the overall dining experience was quite good. Unfortunately the noise level was just too much. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. Too many hard surfaces inside the restaurant contribute to this problem. Other than that the service and food were good.
We'll be back.

Was a good experience. Was the first time out to dinner for my wife and myself since March 2020.

Didn't know how to look at the menu and the server just assumed we knew to look up online.

Overall a good experience, but there was more the server could have done to make the visit better. The server could have broken down our orders a little more to make it a more enjoyable experience.

Beertown is just such a reliable place to spend an hour eating and sharing conversations. The food menu is delicious and so widely varied. Service personnel are courteous and very knowledgeable. The location is ideal and there's a lot of easy parking.
Can't wait to get back there!

Great food, great service!

It was my birthday and I had a really good time overall! The noise level was the only thing that bothered me as I had to yell just to talk to my friend who was beside me but otherwise it was a great time :)

We sat outside on the patio. Heaters were provided due to it now being October but overall good experience. Drinks took a while to come but the drink menu is huge so understandable.

It was amazing and our server, Abby, was full of good suggestions and was always interested in making sure we had the best service and experience!

The heated patio was great! Server was attentive and personable. We were just 2 people but the table would have been very tight for 4 diners (there were 4 chairs).

The food here is always amazing. I am so happy to see such a large vegan and gluten free menu! It's a great place to bring people who have dietary restrictions because the taste and quality is superb for all types of meals! The service is always friendly and accomodating and it is now one of my favourite places to eat in Guelph!
