Ordering and having to pay for food through an app while at a restaurant, and then get Poor service?!?! No thank you! I would rather DoorDash and eat in the comfort of my own home. I had the NY steak my son had steak as well. Both cuts were over cooked and presentation was poor. My eldest som had pork chop and that was decent at best. Will not be coming back here. Waste of money. Go to Walnut Creek instead
The experience was good, but not being able to speak to the wait staff was unusual. We didn’t know we had to specify we wanted our starter salad to be brought out first then our entree in the app. This is the new normal for Covid dining.
Menu has changed since my last visit - I found it a bit limited, but what I ordered was very good.
Didn’t get food but no way to skip that question. The reason we left, before getting food, was that the ordering system was confusing and stressful.
Just to get a drink we had to login to their system, enter personal info incl cc#, phone # etc. enter a texted verification code, go back and complete blah blah blah
By the time we had done all that we didn’t even want to stay for the drink we had already ordered. We did and it was good and the server was very sweet and apologetic.
I understand the goal of touchless ordering but other restaurants are doing just great giving servers devises for this purpose. The QR code to see the menu is fine but not all the other BS.
The process does not lend itself to a relaxing beginning of a dining experiences. Went somewhere else and had a lovely meal not requiring any IT training.
The service was good but different. We ordered directly on their website and food was brought to our table. We didn’t have one particular waiter, we had the whole team. Not traditionally but I thought it was efficient. My food was brought out 10 minutes after my friends food and I had to ask where my order was. When it was brought out the food was cold and I had to send it back. The staff was gracious and remade my food. We sat outside on the patio on a beautiful breezy day. I would go again when I’m in the city.
The patio is pretty, servers are nice and the food is pretty good. But they only allow you to order on your cell phone which involves entering all your credit card info, ordering your drinks and food, etc. This is time consuming and really irritating because it's very easy to miss a key instruction or hitting the wrong button.
Until they change this I'm not going back.
Overall the food was good, but we had to wait a long time to receive it, and we didn’t get everything together. we ordered a side of fries and crispy broccoli and they brought it out to us when we were half way done with our entrées.
The food was good but the service was barely there. We had to order our own food online and pay for it in advance. The system also charged us 20% gratuity but there were no servers so that was a rip off.
You have to order through the app, which was a hassle for two out of three updated iPhones.
The food was just okay. I had the steak, which looked nothing like the photo. The poured on some sauce, which wasn’t in the description and I was allergic to it. However, they did make sure I received the garlic butter on the side, which was in the description. Everyone else enjoyed their sandwiches or burgers.
I wouldn’t go back at those prices, but my husband said $17 fir his chicken sandwich was worth it to him.
wonderful food, nice people but the QR code ordering took away from having a relaxing dinner. It was cumbersome. More so than at other QR places.
The food is definitely fantastic. The web based ordering is weird though, and not great for a group of friends. Our food came out at different times. Our drink came out after our food. the website pressures you to close out your tab right away. It’s hard to order a second drink later, so I didn’t. There’s a lot of pressure to figure out everything right when you sit down, which detracts from the normal chit chat you have at the beginning of the meal. There’s also a lot of confusion between friends - “did you submit yet yet?” “Oh no! I didn’t” and then the order of things gets messed up. You can’t really order more later. I have no idea if they have dessert, might have ordered it if I had a chance. It felt very rushed.
The service was so-so, which I think is because of the web based ordering. There were things I would normally ask my server that I wasn’t able to.
Again, it feels really weird, even compared to other qr based ordering. I would not go again with friends or to dine in. Maybe take out.
Always a great experience. LOVE the staff here, everyone is just amazing, kind, friendly and super helpful. Food is great, of course. Burger is the best! Also love that you can bring your dog and sit outside, not to mention ours loves the doggy meals. <3
Location is why I go here. The outdoor patio is fantastic. The salads are very good.
Unfortunately, their approach to “touchless” ordering and paying leaves much to be desired. I’m all on board with reviewing the menu via QR Code, and even paying with my phone…but ordering and paying UP FRONT via my phone sucks, and essentially there is NO SERVICE other than the person who brings the food that was ordered via the app.
It’s fast food style, without fast food pricing.
If it wasn’t for the outdoor dining, I wouldn’t eat here at all.
Needlessly complicated ordering system made it so difficult we decided never to go back again.
The food and outside dining was fabulous. However everything (menu viewing, ordering and paying) had to be done on line. So when talking about service… really?? Couldn’t order anything from waiter. I get not sharing menus because of COVID but this was way over the top. It’s enough to make me not go back there.

$21 for a burger which was nothing special at all, with add ons a burger and fties can cost $30
Service is friendly, but mostly DIY using QR. food is mouthwatering. Prices, eye watering.
We were there for my husband’s birthday.

The ordering process is a nightmare!
It was awful. The app malfunctioned so instead of getting four mediocre steaks, it only ordered us two. The staff caught this two minutes before their kitchen closed and “rushed” to cook the other half of our order but half if us had to eat to avoid the steaks getting cold and the rest of the food took 20 more minutes. Servers were convinced it was our fault and didn’t even discount the bill until we prompted them to. It was supposed to be a nice night out with my family but the whole thing and their disinterest in making it right, entirely ruined the evening. Go somewhere else.
Staff was not enforcing wearing of masks indoors at the bar.
The app to order food is very cumbersome and took about 10 minutes to navigate through, even for two tech-savvy people.
Food was tasty, if a bit overpriced. Menu prices were more expensive than what appears on Yelp.
Had lunch on their nice outdoor patio. Good lamb burger but the side salad had an incredibly tart dressing which disappointed. The staff was friendly & helpful with the annoying way one has to order these days through the code thing with your phone. So you have to deal with it all again if you want to add on things. That & not seeing a menu in the whole is a real drag.
With two glasses of wine each, 2 salads, 2 burgers and fries our bill was $166 after tip. That is just insane. Food is excellent but value is low.
Burger and fries were very good. The salad dressing on the baby lettuces had way too much vinegar and pepper. Service was pretty poor.
While the location is lovely overlooking the Oakkand Marina, Covid still means service is disjointed and sometimes incredibly frustrating, especially when asking for your beverage at least four times before it’s finally delivered at the end of your meal. The food was quite tasty and I’d go back again but hoping for a little more relaxing experience.
Everything was ok. There was minimal service because you ordered own food and they just brought it to you. But someone did stop by to make sure everything was ok. The pricing was fair. Overall nothing bad or great.
I’m fine with menu online with QR code, but ordering cocktails and dinner online without a server to guide through the menu and then paying and tipping beforehand online-I am not fine with. It was generally a very disappointing experience without good service. On a positive note, the outdoor dining setting was nice and heat lamps warm. But I probably won’t go back and we have dined there often since they opened.
I have never had a bad meal at Belcampo. The drinks are superb and the food is yummy!
Everything was good except you do all of your ordering and paying and tipping upfront on the app when you order (and tip is automatically included at 20% with no option to adjust, up or down). As a result the wait staff didn’t engage. I felt service was lacking. They didn’t come to check on you, for water, salt and pepper, another drink, etc., you had to just wait and hope you could flag someone down eventually. We probably would have ordered dessert but no one came and asked and the bill was already paid and we didn’t know when they’d swing by again so we just left. I guess their mindset is scan it if you want something else (but not water salt and pepper???). I miss the service aspect of dining out. They also miss the additional ordering that the power of suggestion may bring.

We were recommended this place by friends through work and didn’t know much about it or research it much. I went here for my anniversary with my amazing partner. They take reservations, which is very nice. The staff were very friendly and fun. The location is right on the marina and has a good feel and aesthetic. The steak seasoning wasn’t quite to my preferred style, it had a “light” flavor that was good but not my “go to” seasoning. The meat was good quality and the fat fries and other dishes were all great. The food menu was a tad limited in selection, but the offerings all looked good. Cocktails were well made and nothing but good things to say there.
Being where it is, you may have trouble with parking or have to walk a bit fro get here, we didn’t, and it’s a nice area to walk in anyway- just plan for the possibility. The train tracks run along almost right outside the place, so you will probably hear noise and the horn of trains while you dine depending on the time of day. If you’re seated outdoors I could see it being worse, indoors it didn’t ruin anything for us, but if that sort of noise is a concern, just be aware. They were very busy when we went so the service wasn’t “perfect” for us, but overall I think they did very well there.
They offer reasonably priced burgers that we didn’t try this time. We plan to come back, but I’d say this is more of a “casual” lunch or dinner place or a spot to grab cocktails with a nice waterfront backdrop with friends etc. I probably wouldn’t bring business here due to the train situation and parking, and for intimate occasions there are places I would say are better. For birthdays, hanging out, or grabbing some food, I think Belcampo is great. We will be going back to try the burgers.
They also have a nice little retail area to buy meats and seasonings and other products, and offer “DIY” take out kits for burgers and such to cook at home or grill. A good spot I think.
It’s a little expensive but a great casual dining experience. The patio was great to sit on as the day winded down, and the cocktails were excellent. Highly recommend the Mezcalita!
Good overall but the front reception staff was a bit harsh (reprimanding) when I forgot my mask (accidentally left at the table when I went to the restroom.). She was correct in enforcing mask-wearing on the dining floor). My bad for sure, an honest mistake, and easily correctable with simple courteous reminder as I was sufficient distant from her and near my table (and mask).
I really miss Bocanova, the restaurant that was in this location for several years. I have to say Belcampo is an excellent replacement. Completely different. And delicious. I can’t wait to go back. There is lots of good juju in that place.

I was looking forward to this restaurant. I feel at through it was the Grub Hub of restaurant service. I known things are different with Covid but I feel their protocol was an over kill. I ordered food and drinks from a APP then they were delivered tot he table. Bill was also paid via the APP. The food was just OK and was typical bar food even when presented as a steak house? The only service person I saw consistently was the bus help refilling my water. So did my tip go to them? All I know is I went to a restaurant for service and could just as easily received what I wanted if I stayed in the hotel an order Grub Hub or Uber Eats.
Belcampo is a beautiful restaurant. The location is great. We sat outside and there were some smokers around but they eventually left. The menu at lunch time was VERY, VERY small, but we were able to find things to eat. I got the superfood salad and I'm not sure what made it super though - maybe the avocado and the pepitas? The steak that it came with is only 4oz and it was cooked perfectly. My husband got the double burger and he enjoyed it, but he was still hungry even after he got fries and had two drinks. The staff was nice too. I'd come back for cocktails and maybe a snack. The ambiance was great.
Food was great. You place order via your phone, when the wifi went out, the servers liked like they couldn't take an order the "old fashion" way with a pad. Also, we had a party of five and they brought each order out 5-10 minutes apart.
My first time to Belcampo. The food was very good. I had the Superman Salad which was really good, fresh and flavorful. My steak was tough though which was a bummer. It had good flavor but was very chewy. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, another salad and two different burgers.
While there are some upsides to ordering on your phone I really missed the table service and personal interaction with staff. Everyone was super friendly but it was a case of drop and go and never really an opportunity to ask questions, time your drink and meal order, etc. It may not keep me from going back but it may have me thinking twice.
Awesome burgers... Animal fries are the "bomb"... Not like In-N-Out... Great views outside for dining!
