Birthday lunch at our old faithful!
Everything was amazing as always!
Beautiful location. Delicious food. A great place to catch up with friends. Unfortunately we ran out of time to properly browse the books!
Beautiful place and lovely food and wine. The book shop added extra appeal, will definitely be back.
Shocking day at Bendooley Estate. Usually a favourite but the wheels had completely fallen off on Saturday. No one seated us although we had a booking, no service for over 30 minutes, filthy tables stacked with plates and glasses everywhere. They had not cleared entrees when our mains arrived. The manager was extremely rude and there is absolutely no excuse for that kind of treatment...when we mentioned what a poor experience we were having she told us it was just busy!!! Then we’re moved from our table before finishing our wine and even ordering dessert because they had to start a function early...the worst experience ever!!! The young staff had zero direction from management, tables were eventually cleared using a trolley while we were still seated!!!! Awful and disappointing day!!!
Food was amazing. Service was efficient and attentive. Great concept of dining in a book barn. Good venue for any kind of celebration.
Celebrated my Mum's 75th birthday here with the most divine lunch. We were very well taken care of by the staff but the food was the highlight. Lamb Shoulder, Crab Linguine and Grilled Spatchcock all elicited moans of delight. Not the cheapest meal but not prohibitively expensive either, and generous serving sizes for the money spent. We also really loved the setting and grounds as well as the opportunity to browse the book shelves after lunch. Loved everything about it, we'll be back.
It was super quiet..no music.
Booking was not in the desired area. We moved there and it was fine ( its not claer online) when one books...we wanted the tasting room restaurant not the cafe / book barn restaurant. I have booked the tasting room before.
There were no welcome bottles on the table or ready to pour nor offered as requested for guests on arrival.
Nice setting, good food but disgraceful service. Would not go back.
Perfect meeting place for friends catching up from Sydney & Canberra. The lovely rows of books made our lunch even lovelier as it brought a comfortable homely feel to the the restaurant.
It would be a tad more relaxing if we felt like we didn’t need to rush ordering our courses & they were a little further apart.
Otherwise, our party of 6 enjoyed a very pleasant day with very nice food.
Not only a book lovers pinnacle example of divine perfection but a wonderful ambiance for a memorable holiday lunch with the family.
celebrating a birthday it was a lovely venue and experience. The cuvee really made a great accompaniment to the meal
Amazing setting, great service and excellent food. Could not ask for more. Thanks
Friendly service ....
Beutiful suuronding location.
Great food and good portion size meals
Lovely restaurant, very cold with the air conditioning ducts on the floor under the chairs, service was friendly but slow
Very good fresh food, didn't seem to be large portions but I only had entree & dessert & partner had main & dessert and we were both quite full, must have been the flat bread which was the size of a large pizza! Very friendly & efficient staff, would go back.
Service was exceptional food was delicious beautifully presented but
Only criticism was that we ordered fish of the day and price not on menu and price not told to us until we went to pay and were shocked at the price ! A small piece of fish risotto not high quality and a sprig if green lettuce ... it tasted great but not good value for $37 ..
Will return though ! It is a great place & wine !
It was a very special luncheon. My friend has gone home with some very happy memories. thank you
The four of us had a wonderful time. Great food and wine, great service, lovely and clever ladies waiting on us
Our experience at Bendooley Estate was amazing. The food was sensational, the service warm and friendly, and the atmosphere cosy.
It was wonderful to be surrounded by so many books as we shared in our memorable meal. It was all topped off with some beautiful local wines. We hope to return in the future.
We hadn't eaten here before but we were staying at the Bendooley Estate Cottages for a few days, so thought we'd come for lunch. We'd also been impressed with the Bendooley Estate Larder in the main street of Bowral, which we discovered on our previous trip to the Southern Highlands. Lunch was very enjoyable and in a great location outside under the trees. We will definitely go back again. The bookshop and cellar door were also both impressive.
Beautiful food and wine, great atmosphere. Will definitely be going back again
It was our first visit to Bendooley Estate. The 3 of us all chose the Linguine with picked blue swimmer crab. It was so delicious that we finished the whole dish. The staff were friendly. The book shop had a huge selection of books which were interesting. The atmosphere was nice. Will visit again when we are next in the area. We highly recommend Bendooley Estate.
Fabulous food! Generous servings and lovely wine (we had the Rose). The service was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and the owner (I think but recognised by awesome shoes) was approachable and engaged. Worth the visit!
The food was great and the wonderful service highlights this fabulous location. Enjoyed yet again and will continue to revisit.
Jibber jabber jooo, they asked to write a review.
Snuggle de deeee sniggle dee doo. I would certainly return, food was great atmosphere pleasant. Busy, yet cosy and a great selection of new and used books..... the food is top notch and the wine lovely :)
excellent venue what a great place to have lunch . . . . . . . . .
A lovely venue, my wife and I got married here 2 years ago, and came back for our anniversary. Never disappointing
We had a delicious lunch at Bendooley Estate. All three of us had a different meal and we were all well pleased with our choices. Our waitress was very personable and attentive without being too intrusive. I have been there before and will definitely be returning
Lovely venue to celebrate birthday of our elderly father. Helicopter landing mid lunch proved a little distraction and dropped dust in our drinks. Food was delicious, only suggest waitress repeat order to ensure accurate order - we had a missing pizza and a salad that was not what we ordered. All worked well in the end, and all was delicious. Beautiful setting outdoors and umbrella's provide good shade. We will return.
Lovely food and service, aspect but horrendous flies...I cannot stress this too much!!!! really put us off from ever sitting outside again. Also we kept getting ash in our wine and water glasses. We had to cover our food and drinks with serviettes. As a local entertaining visitors to the area it was embarrassing.
Always a great experience. Love the dining and books.
Excellent food, service and ambience in a beautiful setting.
Pleasant lunch, linguine was tasty, just a little bit too al dente for me. Very disappointed in the pea and bean salad as it was tiny and covered in leaves and radish slices not mentioned in the menu. Nice atmosphere and staff very pleasant.
Service seemed to suffer on busy Sunday we were there. More staff needed perhaps?
We had lunch with friends & our children & we sat outside. This was my second visit & I can highly recommend this place even with children it was fantastic 😊
Amazing food, I had the steak and it was so tender. My husband and I plan on coming back for our wedding anniversary next year it is worth the drive.
From being greeted at the door to the lovely service from the waitress also she gave a recommendation on the lunch menu which we ordered the blue swimmer crab and chilli linguini which was awesome. We tried the bendooley sparkling which was very nice so yes I would recommend for anybody going through the area as a place to go and enjoy
We love coming to Bendooley Estate and this was our third or fourth visit in about fifteen months. As usual the food was wonderful but in our area there was a table of young women who were incredibly loud and needed, it seemed to address the entire area. Their lack of consideration for other guests was not even remotely considered and we could not hear each other talk. There is a separate room and this could have been used.
We mentioned it to the wait staff who just shrugged their shoulders as if to say you are justold people. Felt quite disappointed. We are entitled to be able to hear each other and for dessert we moved to the other end of the room.
Our waitress was outstanding, the food excellent and the book barn has so much character, its a lovely place to have a meal with friends!
Great venue, good food but crazy noise levels.
Inside is better if you want to escape the flies.
