Benedetto has always been an excellent experience.
Benedetto is always perfect. I highly recommend.
We had a wonderful dinner with fantastic wine. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and the server gracious and attentive.
The restaurant did not live up to the high expectations that we had for it given its high rating. At the end of the meal, all the members of the party were disappointed. The food did not sparkle. One person had skate and they left most of it on their plate. The other couple felt the food was exceedingly rich. They thought there was a lot of butter being used. If so this is surprising for an Italian restaurant. The wine list by the glass was very limited. The most disappointing part of the meal was the service. The waiters/servers were constantly reaching over people at the table to serve the person to the right. There was definitely enough room that they could have walked around to the other person, they were just lazy or badly trained.
The pasta was delicious. The loin strip was served with a thick chunk of fat all along the strip. Service was very good.
Food was amazing. All four of us have it A++
We had a fabulous server who handled our food allergies like a pro.
Loved the gorgeous interior. The wine selection was varied and pleasing.
Didn’t want the dining experience to be over.
Christine was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The octopus dish is spectacular! Thank you!
The food was good but not great. The service at our dinner table was pleasant, however, after dinner drinks in the bar lounge area were served by a surly and brusque waitress.
Best pasta and salad. Nice ambiance.
the food was excellent as usual
sadly, which I hate to report, our server was often off busy with other tables and we felt ignored much of the evening
when our server was with us, he was attentive and helpful
It was a busy evening for the restaurant with several large tables, but we ended up being there for almost 3 hours for dinner, which was about an hour too long
Another tremendous meal at Benedetto. From the time we walked in the door, to the time we left, the experience was truly wonderful. First, we were seated in a great spot, in a small, private room off the main dining room. It was quiet and perfect for our conversations. Next, service was spectacular. Aaron was the consummate professional. Friendly, knowledgeable and loaded with suggestions. Everything from cocktail suggestions to wines, to clarifying menu questions, Aaron was spot on. The food was simply amazing. Every subtle nuance exemplified the authenticity and passion of the preparations. Well-sized portions left us satisfied but not full. The wine list is a treasure and we found a rare Vallee d' Aosta white that was the perfect accompaniment to dinner. We'll be back soon! Such an amazing evening. Thank you!
Wonderful food, service, and ambiance. Great please for special occasions. They do a nice job of caring for their restaurant goers.
Another wonderful experience - utterly enjoyable, perfect service, great cocktails and wine and food, not the least, to match. Noise level just right.
Best pasta and salad
We had an absolutely awesome time. One of our favorites!
Going out on a holiday like Valentine's Day is always tricky. You know most restaurants will be at capacity so you worry about the quality of the food and the service. We had close friends who were only in town on February 14 so we took our chances. Benedetto exceeded our expectations, we had a beautiful meal with our guests.
We celebrated my wife's birthday at Beneddto and had a lovely time. It's an attractive, relatively quiet room with good sized tables and comfortable chairs. Our waiter and the entire service team was friendly and professional. We loved the crudo and the pasta with mushrooms both of which we split. I was very happy with my skate; my wife was less pleased with her duck. The gelati for dessert had good texture but lacked flavor. Nice enough but not worth ordering again. The restaurant has a good selection of wines by the glass and my wife especially liked her Amarone.
Dinner was not cheap but felt well worth the money.
This was our first time here, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. The ambiance was lovely. We had the tagliatelle alla bolognese and the beef strip loin with black garlic bagna cauda. The pasta was quite fresh, and the beef was very tender and tasty! We will definitely return for more.
the food was excellent, our server was lovely and really helpful in helping guide us in choices
Kudos to the chef for cooking my fish perfectly and not over doing it!
Rapidly and graciously corrected some outdated cream served with coffee
looking forward to returning
Our hake was done perfectly, the service was attentive, the ambiance is really nice. This is enhanced by
the fact that my friend and I could hear each other speak. The menu could be a bit a more varied, but most proteins were represented, such as pork, beef, chicken and fish. They offered a wide variety of pasta, but we did not order it at this time. They were also accommodating to dietary restrictions.
We have been here a few times, and would definitely go again.
The service was more than outstanding. Food was good but not great. I had expected more flavor. The site is very comfortable. Noise levels not an issue, easy to carry on a conversation at a normal volume. The wine list is extensive, and reasonably priced. The staff is very attentive, without being overly attentive. The pacing of the food coming to the table was very well spaced. Our dinning lasted just over 2 hours, which is what we expected and appreciated. PQS ,
Phenomenal food and service. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The pasta dishes and dessert were standouts. Wine list was also notable. Great option for a nice occasion.
Spectacular service, wonderful food. It's my number one choice in Cambridge.
The portion sizes were very small and the meal was expensive. Very tasty just small portions.
Just great! Server was knowledgeable and helpful, and present without being intrusive. Food was excellent...really enjoyed the arancini. We were at a quiet table and could easily talk.
Remaining staff was equally pleasant, professional and helpful. Really great experience.
Nice combination of great food and service, with acceptable prices. Would recommend indeed.
This was our first time to the restaurant. The food was awesome and the service was great. A real find in Cambridge
Somewhat pricey, but carefully prepared and presented locally sourced food.
This is a fine restaurant. We enjoyed the ambience, the service was impeccable and attentive, very professional, and the cuisine really superior. The bar ample, the wine list creative. The lemon granita dessert that we split was very creative and wonderful. The only consideration that I would make is that the sirloin that I ordered, while ample in terms of quantity, should have been well trimmed, and was not. Other than this, a highly enjoyable evening, and we will return!
Top notch all around!
A delightful restaurant. Food was terrific and the staff most friendly and helpful.
Food: delicious. Service: friendly and unobtrusive. Value: pretty darned good at such an elegant location. The pastas really are terrific.
I hate to write this review as Benedetto has long been a favorite of mine. Typically the food is consistently good and the ambiance is nice. But on New Year's Eve it was a true disappointment. We had a reservation but when we arrived were told there was a glitch and our table was not ready. We waited approximately 25 minutes before being seated. The area where we were waiting was clogged with people and quite chaotic by the bar. We were never offered a drink while we waited and had to ask several times about the status of our table. When we were finally seated no server came to out table. Eventually, I had to physically reach out and grab a server and ask her for help. She was apologetic. The food was fair not great, which is highly atypical, maybe a result of it being a holiday. There was a loud and cheesy jazz band and it impeded conversation. We were never comped anything despite the wait and poor start to service. The expense was high, given the holiday and it was definitely not worth it. Sad to say that Benedetto which has always been solid was a let down this time.
Great food and truly awesome service
One of the best restaurants in Boston/Cambridge. We've been there twice and will add this to our short list of places to go for special occasions.
Our evening at Benedetto was superb, from pre-dinner drinks, a perfect assortment of starters and main courses, to the Umbrian wine, and on to incredible desserts. I had not been to Giulia or Benedetto previously, but I'll certainly become a regular here and I can't wait to try sister restaurant Giulia. Every aspect of our dinner was excellent. This is a major accomplishment and I can't wait to return.
Fantastic food and service
Everything was lovely, but I have to say, you can always add salt, you can’t take it out. This has happened before. Salad—too heavy a hand on the salt. Which is a shame because the ingredients were otherwise stellar.
Pasta—the best I’ve had in a very long time. Perfection.
Dessert—delicious, but too clever by half.
We left feeling everyone had worked to give us the perfect dining experience. Eager to return
One of the best meals I have ever had
