Phenomenal experience with friends! The head chef Toto was spectacular and put on a great show. The food was amazing & portions were huge!
The food was OK but too pricy for that! I would give a 3 star in total
Overall our experience was ok. Our Chef was skilled and somewhat entertaining. We found the quality of the food to be good and the quantity to me more than enough. All of that said, we found the overall value to be low because of the high price. With ordering two meals (NOT the lobster), and two drinks only one of which had alcohol, our bill was almost $300 with the 17% gratuity automatically added for our "convenience". If we had wine and or more drinks this bill could have easily been over $400. The location (over a game arcade) is not the best and the wait was long (about an hour) before the dinner service actually started, and we were on time for our reservation.
So, if it's a special occasion and you don't mind dropping 4 to 5 bills for two people on a night out, then go for it.
If not, I would not recommend it.
For overall value, I don't think we'll be going back any time soon.
Great experience, good service, pricey but you get a lot of food
Very expensive for what you get not really worth it
No enforcement if mask wearing while waiting with other patrons for a table. No social distancing. Waited over 20 min past reservation time to sit at table.
Good was overall enjoyable experience
was very expensive and my partner and i had tummy issues all night after.
Absolute criminal prices compared to other Benihana I visited
Overall a great dinner for my birthday! A little pricey, as everything else is in the Falls area.
On a trouvé que pour le prix d’une famille c’était beaucoup élevé pour l’expérience et le service… rajouté le pourboire sur la facture c’est vraiment ordinaire… on a pas le goût d’en rajouter plus… c’est comme une obligation
It was our daughters birthday and we were staying in Niagara Falls and took her here. It was awesome and food was fantastic!
Good food and great company around the table
We ordered the Filet Mignon, the food is good but it's a little overpriced.
The chef is probably in training but he had definitely tried his best to entertain us.
The same quality of food and service offers in downtown Toronto will be around $75.
Service and Atmosphere was great, but the prices were ridiculously high for the amount of food we got. 70% of the meal was zucchini, beans, and rice; Not meat. Somehow my date and I racked up a $340 charge for three drinks and our 2 standard meals. I adore Teppanyaki but at these prices I’d rather find another restaurant.
We had a great dinner, the tuna was outstanding, the chef was quite entertaining. Overall what a great experience and we will be back for dinner on our next trip to Niagara
We made a reservation before ever being able to see the prices. So the amount of food was a bit underwhelming for the price point of the full meals. As my partner says; if you need to know the price, then you shouldn’t be eating here. Our cook Arthur, was PHENOMENAL!!! So funny and genuine. The food tasted delicious, was perfectly cooked.
The show was nice but, totally not worth the inflated pricing for Niagara falls. I'll happily never come here again. $225 for a chicken stir fry, and a 17% gratuity Automatically added? It's my choice to tip, and how much. Disgusted with this.
Great place, great staff and great food…try it out, you’ll enjoy it!
Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Niagara Falls, ON. It's a great experience and Chef Win was amazing. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.. Absolutely the best meal we had while in the falls. Highly recommend! IT WAS FIRE!!
Ridiculously overpriced for a below average meal. The soup tasted like it came from a can, the salad dressing was terrible, I believe they split 10 or 12 shrimp between a table of seven and the chicken was dry and overcooked. $225 for 2 people (including our locals discount) is an absolute joke. The only positives were our chef, who was pretty entertaining, the little girl at our table that lit up at his antics and the gentleman that checked us in for our reservation. If you want to over pay for a meal there are plenty of better options in Niagara Falls.
The service overall was good. Our chef was friendly and funny. Food was decent but the prices were outrageous. A 17% service charge was automatically added to our bill and we ended up paying over $50 in tip. I think that's crazy and we should be given the choice of how much to tip. The tourist tax was also added which was over $25. I asked them to remove it. We went from a $440 bill to $412 for 3 adults and 2 kids. We'll definitely be eating at a chain restaurant or fast food place next time. Highway robbery if you ask me.
The food was tasty, albeit loaded with butter and salt.
Unfortunately our cook wasn't very entertaining. That being said, many of the other chefs appeared to be very engaging and fun to watch.
I would suggest it was over priced, however, they are competing within Niagara Falls and all restaurant prices are WAY over priced. As a local, I won't return unless there is a good Groupon or Wagjag. I try to support local, but I work hard for my money.
It was a wonderful time. Our chef was fantastic and the food was amazing!!!
First of we were sitting with other people with no social distancing or masks, like elbows touching. The smoke of the habachi was so strong, our eyes burning and I was literally crying. The food was ok nothing special but was very pricy and not worth the value for the experience. The cook and server really tried save your $1000.
This was the worst teppanyaki experience I’ve ever had. Our chef (didn’t catch his name, an older gentleman) was so clumsy. He started the entire experience dropping everything. His tools.. spice jars.. food.. Also he didn’t put up his mask or wore any face shield while cooking. The food was salty and bland. The lobster was not fresh. It would be fine if the meal was normally priced but we paid Niagara prices almost $400 for two people.
The food and service was good, but everything is seriously overpriced. You're paying $75 for a $25 meal, or higher. Chef was good and entertaining but I just can't justify the cost. I won't be returning.
The chef that we got had no skills and no entertainment was offered. This was the most expensive and least entertaining Benihana I’ve been to.
over all service was good except they forgot to preheat the cooktop and we had to wait an extra 35 min before food could start cooking. Chief did a good job once he got going. 17% gratuity was already added to the bill on top of an over priced meal. If you want to enjoy this type of abidance don't do it on Clifton hill in Niagara falls.
The bill will shock you!
Not great service for the price gratuity was included which we didn’t know about Service was very poor.
Well let me start by saying I have never really let the price of a dish at a restaurant sway me from ordering it. However, I have a really hard time paying $75 for a chicken breast with some rice and veggies and $100 for beef!!! To be fair they do give you soup and salad as a starter snd shrimp (not deveined ) as an app. There are so many better Tepanyaki restaurants that do not charge like this , and I understand that it’s in a tourist area but I would rather pay $70 and go eat at the Brazilian all you can eat steakhouse where the food is so much better!! Also, the chef putting on the show was not very good unfortunately :(
Never been to a Benihana before so in a sense I don't have have anything to compare my experience to. The food itself was very good, and the performance from our chef Toto was brilliant. All the expected knife tricks, onion volcano, etc. were on display and our table applauded every one of them. It was fun to interact with others at the table, and overall the experience was unique.
From a service perspective, over the course of the night it became clear that our waitress had little training or experience in the service industry. She unapologetically knew little about the 30 items on the menu. For example when a guest asked about the differences between the 3 sakes on the menu, she simply said "I don't know". When a table-mate advised that they required gluten free food, she forgot to advise the kitchen several times over, then brought him a soup that contained gluten anyways. She would swear when mistakes were made, and would disappear for long stretches of time. At one point she even advised us against ordering something on the menu that wasn't personally to her taste.
This led to a surreal display that was pretty distracting from the knifeplay and solid food. It is clear they are suffering from the labour shortage that, at the time of writing, I know has left Ontario without many competent servers. But clearly something went wrong in the training process or systems here.
From a cost perspective, this was a very expensive meal: $65.00 for a prix fix chicken dinner and $99.00 for the filet minion. 355ml bottles of beer were $10. A 17% tourism tax is applied, as with all other restaurants at the falls. Comically, a 17% service fee (tip) was automatically applied to all bills. Surely for this level of cost the service should be A1.
I am not sure if our experience was an isolated one - it is very possible that we got someone on a bad night and I appreciate that. In the end, my wife and I kept a positive attitude and took in the show for what it was.
Food is really expensive and over priced and you have to sit next to other people.
Benihana, was overall an amazing experience. Staff are extremely nice. We had a hard time finding parking hence we were late for our reservations but they were able to accommodate us, regardless of the fully booked Saturday night. Our chef was chef Toto, he was hilarious, his tricks were amazing and the food was delicious. It is pricey, but in my opinion for the portions and experience it's worth it. If you're looking to splurge a little for a good time and good food. This is the place. Would 100% recommend.
Wow is my only reaction! Win, our chef, was amazing! He was fun and personable! He made us all feel at ease and truly enjoy the experience. We had 2 young children with us and they were captivated by Win and his infectious personality! The food was great and so fresh! Worth your penny!
Do not go if you are group of 2 and want something private. You will be seated with random people and it will not be enjoyable.
Service, staff, and food were all top notch! We’d definitely go back again. 5 star
The food was amazing...from from apps right thru to dessert!!!
Chef Toto was friendly and knowledgable and really funny..made the experience for my family top notch.
The portions are huge and well worth it!!
We will definitely be back and I recommend for all to try.
Phenomenal experience. This restaurant exceeded our expectations for many reasons from the energetic greeting at the door to the very talented chef Abhi who put on a fantastic and impressive show. Also to mention we did the surf and turf and all the meat was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be going back!!!
