Benjamin Bar & Lounge at Trump International Hotel

The tea was absolutely lovely! Really enjoyed the whole experience. Every bite was truly an exquisite surprise! I really cannot say which bite was the best. They were all so distinct and delicious! Yakuba was delightful and was kind to get me another scone when I dropped mine on the floor. oops! Jean Marc did a great job assisting and took some nice photos for us. It was a beautiful afternoon tea at The Trump Hotel. Thank you.

A family friend treated us to tea today at the Trump Hotel. Having been there before, I had high expectations. It was such a bad experience!

First, I received my pot of tea way before anyone else did....then they brought the other ladies the wrong tea. Not until several minutes later did the remainder of the tea show up. Then we noticed that the tea pot was chipped badly on the pour spout. Okay, off to a bad start but it only got worse from there.

When the food was served the person who brought the trays could not describe what we had been served. We were busy chatting when our waitress came and mentioned that we had been served tea for 4 instead of 3. She then began to pick food off our trays to be brought back to the kitchen. Did that really happen in a high rated establishment?
We had to ask for clotted cream and jam for the scones, spoons to use for serving, and it went on and on like this.

This is not the type of experience that one expects at the Trump Hotel. I don’t know if they were short staffed or just inexperienced. Needless to say, we will not be back for tea again. Better to stick with the Ritz Carlton, who runs circles around these people.

Wonderful afternoon spent with a long time friend and her daughter. Food and service were outstanding. Before we knew it, we had spent 3 hours there. Staff did not rush us at all. Very relaxing afternoon.

Wonderful afternoon tea with Champagne ! Great food and even better Veggie sliders after in the bar area ! Great jazz music in the background and great people watching . Love the American Flag hanging 2 stories big ! Over the bar ! So patriotic !

My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea. I have to the Benjamin several times for drinks, but wanted to have my 20 year old experience it. It was lovely. I had the opportunity to explain the Old Post Office history and what it was. She said she loved it more at Trump Hotel than the Ritz in Tyson’s (where we usually go for our annual tea). Server was very funny and attentive. And next year my daughter will be able to enjoy a glass of the delightful Trump Champagne .

Fantastic! The food was wonderful. Service excellent. And the building beautiful. We will be back.

Really like the afternoon tea there usually. Been there a few times for tea, tea is great but this time the food was a bit bland.

My mother and I were guests if the Trump hotel and having Afternoon Tea as a Christmas time tradition. The service was extremely poor. We sat at 2:15 and asked for water and our champagne. Just champagne came. We ordered at about 2:30. By 3pm still no tea, no water. I went to ask for a manager as we had not seen our waitress. After we saw them find a manager, she actually never came over - instead had th waitress give a complimentary glass of Champagne. As that is nice, service is what we wanted. After this - there was no recovery and attention to service - it got worse. By 4pm I had to ask someone to get the waitress. They came back and said - what can I get you, but still no waitress. The check was all I wanted at that Pont. Service was terrible and for afternoon tea - your need service - like fresh hot tea.

The setting is beautiful. The tea savory and sweet treats were delicious. The service was perfection. What a wonderful way to spend an early afternoon a few days before Christmas. Delightful!

Tea- was 55.00 per person which included your choice of tea , a glass of champagne , and sweet and savory desserts. Oh and scones

There were three of us , we each had three pieces of the desserts and tea.
I would not recommend.
Staff was very courteous and accommodating.
Just not worth 55.00 per person in my opinion.

The ambiance and presentation were wonderful. The finger sandwiches had obviously been made for a while and were a bit stale. The tea was lukewarm. The setting makes ups somewhat for the the lackluster tea and sandwiches. However, the scones were good. The Champagne was bottomless, and I did like The Trump brand.

My husband and I visited Trump International Hotel to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had drinks @ Benjamin Bar and Lounge as well as Afternoon Tea, exceptional service on both occasions. The food in the lounge and at Tea was excellent. The Trump International Hotel is world class. Thank you for such a special birthday weekend!

This is hands down the most gorgeous hotel and lobby that I've ever seen (and I work in meeting planning). The service and food were also outstanding. I highly, highly recommend.

Have taken afternoon tea in Claridges, the Savoy and other prestigious hotels but this one bar far was the best. Simply delicious! Would definitely recommend

The lobby was beautiful. The sandwiches and pastries were excellent. We also ordered the candied bacon, and the presentation was great. It was expensive, but to be expected, at Trump properties.

We had Tea Service at both the Trump International DC and The St Regis Hotel DC over the weekend. We enjoyed our food and experience at the Benjamin Bar & Lounge much more and commend the Trump International in their exquisite hotel and surroundings. We were also treated very nicely by the Bell and Valet staff as well as our driver in the hotel car. Just an amazing experience for myself and my daughter all around. We hope to stay there on our next visit.

We have been to Benjamin Bar several times for afternoon tea and have been more than pleased with our visit. This time everything was up to par and expectation except the service. Our waiter was pleasant enough and initially attentive, pouring our tea, keeping the tea cups and water refilled but after the food was served he seemed to have forgotten us. We always enjoy two glasses of Trumps Sparkling wine and when the first glass was nearing empty he was no where to be found to offer a second for quite a bit of time. Then again we waited nearly an hour to get our check and then more time for him to complete the transaction. We will return with the hopes of improved service as we do thoroughly enjoy the afternoon tea. There was an event in the ballroom however that should not have taken away from regular service in the other areas.

Exceptional service in a beautiful location. Relaxing eight an abundance of savory and sweet treats. Wonderful 2 hour experience that left us perfectly satisfied.

Well, when I arrived I was wrongly directed to the BLT Prime Restaurant by a manager standing there. I told him my reservation was for Benjamin Bar and Grill but he said that was only for little food and didn’t need reservations. I would have preferred to sit there as the place is beautiful but I sat at the restaurant lower level because the top was closed. I ordered lobster bisque, good ,👍🏻, and as a second tortellini, bad, 👎🏻, over cooked and hard, I had to return it. - I would love to return and sit at the Benjamin Grill. The hotel is beautiful and I plan to stay there next time! - Later I got a message I missed my reservation at Benjamin, I DID NOT, I was miss directed.

This was a wonderful experience with lovely surroundings and had a nice afternoon tea would recommend it. Good choice of teas and nice glass of bubbly.

Really awesome food and drinks but their staff seems to be in a little disarray sometimes. I had to wait for my burger and fries for about 40 minutes. They apologized and brought me a glass of champagne on the house. Beautiful and historical building with an awesome music selection that sets the tone for a great experience. I also loved the afternoon high tea!

A really special high tea experience-classy from the minute you walk in. If tea isn’t your thing the very pricey cocktails do not disappoint. If you are not cost sensitive give tea and cocktails a go.

Great afternoon tea! I enjoyed it. Everything was tasty. Worth the money, as it’s a luxurious hotel, and it also comes with both tea and champagne! It usually costs extra money to have a champagne in such tea set. I changed to mocktail instead and it was still nice. Definitely recommend.

Reunion of friends

As always the service was exceptional and this time we had afternoon tea which was Devine! We are loyal patrons and always have a wonderful time.

It was a lovely birthday experience for afternoon tea. I would definitely go back with family and friends.

A glass of champagne, half a sandwich and three tiny desserts, and a cup of tea, is what you get for $55/person. The sandwiches were not fresh shown by the crusty outside and the pastry bites were without flavor and I’m not sure that the scones could have been made any smaller. No place for coat or purse. Not 5 stars. However service was great and the venue is gorgeous.

I came with a group that visits DC each year that particular week.. us (spouses) have decided we want to make Trump hotel an annual event... we loved it... everyone treated us friendly with respect... our server was Christian from Peru.. a delightful young man ... I am gluten intolerant.. Christian made sure that my food was exactly what I specified when making reservations.. yes, we will be back!

Had afternoon tea. Atmosphere was to die for. However $166 for tea for two was a bit extravagant. We added the candied bacon in addition to the tea and was charged a double service charge of $25.00+ each - once for the tea sever and another for the server of the candies bacon. Not cool, just saying...
