Benne on Eagle

We went for dinner one evening and the experience was so good that we returned the next morning for breakfast. The wait staff (Nehemiah for dinner and Alexis for breakfast) were super-friendly! And the host even took the time to discuss the history of the restaurant and the neighborhood with us. We will definitely visit again. Quick note: DEFINITELY try the potatoes for dinner!!

Deciding what to get for brunch was a struggle in the best way possible! Our group got the chicken and dumplings, short rib skillet, Benedict, and croque madame. All of them was amazing - like cleaned plates! We also got bloody Mary's which were heavy on the Worcester and delicious! The waiter informed us that the croque madame wouldn't be able to be served on the English muffin as stated on the menu, but instead would be on a brioche bun, which I thought was a huge upgrade actually. I would recommend requesting it on brioche instead. Can't wait to go back!

Blueberry corn pancakes with fresh blueberries plus the omelette with chives was perfectly cooked and not overboard on cheese that I've had at most restaurants.
Service was quick and friendly without missing anything

Had breakfast at Benne as a guest at the Foundry Hotel. The biscuits and gravy were delicious, though the portion was slightly small. Coffee was excellent.

Great food and wonderful service!

Not much to choose from if you're a basic toast and eggs type of person. Also it was disappointing that each cup of coffee was an additional fee. Our egg sandwich was rather bland.

I usually enjoy Benne but this experience was horrible. I made 10:30 reservations for a business breakfast. I was about five minutes late but the two other people in my party were on time and had been seated. When I sat down, they told me they had already ordered breakfast for me because the kitchen closed at 10:30. Why would a place take a reservation for 10:30 if they were no longer accepting food orders? Very strange! On top of it, my breakfast was not hot (and not that great), and it took an exceptionally long time to get a drink.

To make matters worse, the kitchen started playing death metal music while we were eating! I'm open to a lot of genres, but this is not acceptable in a restaurant. The server was very sweet but the whole experience was bizarre. This is the second not great experience I've had at Benne, so I will not be returning.

Lovely small restaurant. Fine service. I hope they survive the regulations.

We went for breakfast and immediately walked in and fell in love with the decor. I ordered the Benedict and my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. The food was great!! I think the next time I go back, I will go for brunch!

best oatmeal! Pleasant helpful staff. Delicious omelet with local greens salad.

Brendon was our Server for NYE dinner and we went back for Sunday Brunch after his recommendation. I have not remember the last time we had such an amazing brunch and we live in NYC. The food is truly amazing, the service... the best ! A friendly staff for sure. Don't miss the Sunday Brunch with a $5 mimosa + mushrooms grits and pease, please add the biscuits.

Sadly, not worth the hype. Had heard such rave reviews. Got the mushroom toast and local salad for apps - mushroom toast was heavy and not very dynamic. Salad was missing the shrimp that we had requested and was suuuuper salty. My trout entry was very typical smoked trout and paired oddly with the lobster broth. Service was fantastic as were the drinks. But the food fell flat.

We had a great time and our waiter Brandon was great and so helpful!

Small plates were amazing. Grits and beef short ribs were a good compliment to each other. Will def be back!

Unfortunately our server, Sapporah, ruined any potential positive aspect of the visit, and management’s lack of response to direct feedback sealed the deal. The food was fair to good (it was breakfast so most of the items are standard hotel breakfast dishes, although the cornmeal pancakes were one unique option). Namely, she claimed the restaurant offered only traditional coffee and nothing espresso-based. We later learned this was incorrect. When I sent an email to restaurant management, and confirmed that the hotel would also talk to restaurant management, I was greeting with radio silence. Further, our wait to be seated was six minutes long, not because there were no tables but because the host was “busy with something else” in the small office behind the host stand. A prime example of how indifferent or poor service can ruin any potential a restaurant may have.

Neat atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food was interesting , good portions. The beef has a rub on it that was extremely salty. The rice ball appetizer was novel and quite good. But for the salt, it was a good experience.

This restaurant was delicious! It was comfort food at its finest and I'd recommend it to anyone. The service was terrific and the atmosphere was stylish but cozy. Great place for drinks with a date or a family meal.

It was Christmas morning - it was a relaxing and enjoyable breakfast. Service was a little slow, but not horribly. We ordered the omelet and pancakes and enjoyed both dishes.

Best wings ever! Great service as always. Delicious dinner options. My husband and I had the grain bowl and our friends had the chicken and beef rib entrees. The cocktails were great too!

We went on a Wednesday night. It was not packed at all. The service was very good. The food was excellent. We parked on the street and were able to get a good spot.

Trying too hard to be something it's not. Food was just okay. Service was good but we were a few minutes early for our 8am breakfast reservation so they basically kicked us out and made us stand out in the cold

Server was great but my wine tasted like it was poured out of a bottle that was open for a week and the food wasn’t good at all.

Amazing meal! Shared a few small plates and then spilt the Bear Creek Beef & Dumplings...which was full of beautiful flavors! A must in Asheville.

The service was terrible. We waited quite some time to get our order in. Our waiter didn’t check on us. We had to grab other wait staff if we wanted a drink. Food was over cooked.

We sat outside in the quiet with no music. There was a dog tied off in the alley that barked and whined constantly. It was distracting and heart breaking all at the same time. When we asked if we could eat inside we were told no even though it was quite dead inside.

I asked our waiter if I could sub in it the sweet potatoes for kale or collards and he just said no but he could leave them off altogether. No hospitality or personality whatsoever.

The perloo was disgusting. I love pickled and acidic but this was basically inedible. Steak was bitter from over charring. We are Asheville natives and treating family to dinner out at a restaurant that we thought would be good. Some of the worst food I’ve ever had that I paid THAT much money for.

Benne served delicious and unique food and drinks. Loved everything we ordered.

Good atmosphere, food and service. The smoked scallop salad was a bit overpowering, and the fried gizzards were overcooked.

Wonderful. Felt very safe during these stressful times. Will be back again.
