I thought the dessert menu was unimaginative

The food was very good, but I was disappointed in the overall experience. My husband and I had 24 hours in Edgartown and I wanted a special evening. Wait staff was attentive but between that individual and 2 others, I was asked 3 times if I was finished (I was not) and there was a feeling of being rushed. We wanted a relaxing evening and instead it felt like a whirlwind. Appetizer Sushi roll, came out in under10 minutes...a record unless it was already made. From start to finish we were served and table cleared in about 35 minutes, barely time to enjoy my $24 glass of Amarone. As I said, food was good, but my husband’s cod was probably the smallest portion ever served. So all in all, a good meal but the rush through dinner did not match the price or expectations.
The renovated dining room at The Harborview is lovely and well framed. The view is still great and the design is more tranquil. The bar is swank and pleasant at the same time.
Our Friday night off season meal was ok. The service was great - we were early aNd the first in the room on maybe the slowest weekend of the year. The food was mixed and we wondered if the “B” team is in the kitchen for the off season. My Caesar salad was not really as Caesar, even tho it had nice anchovies on top. It also had smoked Gouda cubes and cherry tomatoes and boxed croutons. The Upside Down Chicken Pot Pie wasn’t really upside down but the puff pastry was well prepared and the filling was Really flavourful with lots of good chicken and a very good sauce. The risotto however was nearly inedible. It was more like a soupy porridge and and no discernible flavour. It was supposed to have basil, but it was just overall pale green color and not distinguished. Less than half was eaten. But the dessert choice of so-called cookies almost made up for it: very pretty marzipan Napoleons petit fours with good dark chocolate icing. Not too sweet and just enough for afters.
The wine list is well done for the by the glass drinker. There are also lots of exotic and pricey star caliber wines chosen from very good wineries.
There are a lot of very good places to eat in Edgartown, but this was the only one open on this very slow winter weekend. I’m not sure we will go back when there are other choices.

The meal was very good -paired with an excellent bottle of Bordeaux. The sushi starters were delicious and main course fish was done to a Tee. The ambience was in the dining room was perfect with soft lighting and very comfortable seating. The tables are arranged so that you feel very private.

TheRaclette special on Thursday night was a real treat. Simple food but well presented and prepared.

Another excellent meal at Bettini. Great atmosphere and food. A minor glitch with the service was more than generously attended to. Certainly one of our go to places in Edgartown.
We arrived two and a half hours early. Let them know we’d be at the bar if anything opened up. Happily settled in for a series of overpriced cocktails. Then proceeded to watch as at least 18 chairs were empty for the duration of the time it took to get us to our 8:15pm reservation. Then, at 8:15pm, they create and set up a table NEXT TO THE BAND. (Couldn’t have done that two hours before?). We then wait for a server too long under the circumstances, who ends being the only friendly person on the staff that night...who proceeds to fill our water glasses and tell us she actually works in sales and is filling in. It’s the lighthouse lighting ceremony and you purposely “under-staff”? The food, with the exception of the Norton Roll app, was meh. The rigatoni had those hard edged ends that say “re-heat that pile over there.” We have been to this place multiple times, not the first staffing nightmare but the first time we were disappointed with the food AND the service. And to the smug young lady who stiffed us for two hours on a table...you’re a front desk clerk, lose the attitude.

Christmas in Edgartown
Vineyard winters are hard, but this dining gem just made it a little easier. The service was excellent, the food was fabulous and the ambience was visually beautiful.
I would highly recommend this neighborhood spot.

The winter incarnation of Bettini Restaurant is delightful. Arrive through the lobby of the Harbor View Hotel with a cozy fire burning. Sit with a view of the Edgartown lighthouse in the just renovated restaurant and enjoy the winter menu and prices. Highly recommend.

James the Maitre'D is a very charming, entertaining and delightful man, as it was not crowded he took us tour of the newly renovated bar which was splendid. We had the sushi to start which was so fresh it could have been just pulled from the sea!
Next was the Chicken Pot Pie which was super yummy.
My wife mentioned it was my birthday so the waitress surpised with a free desert which was an extra tasty Japanese Cheese cake topped with green tea. Also super good.
Try it you'll love the newly renovated Hotel and Dining room.
Nice restaurant but they had a wedding going on the day we visited so it's likely not that noisy

The food and wine were both excellent, but I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone with food allergies. We informed our server of dairy, wheat and soy allergies, and the plate arrived with a random vegetable substitution that included soy beans (the item normally included green beans, which would have been fine). We informed the sever of the error, and she then brought what was probably the same vegetable mixture with the edamame picked out. She was awkward and avoidant the rest of the meal. We waited forever to get our check, and there was never a check in from a manager or anything. While the meal was otherwise good tasting, we definitely won't be back.

Great anniversary dinner! They seated us at a nice window table and started our experience with complimentary glasses of champagne. Our server was attentive and enthusiastic about the occasion. Many interesting choices on the menu. Fresh oysters to start. We both opted for lobster. I had the best grilled lobster ever! Moist, fell out of the shell and tasty seasoned with garlic and olive oil. My wife of 37 years had the other option which was expertly battered and tempura fried. We will be back.

We return to this restaurant every time we visit the Vineyard. Our evening got off to a rocky start, as our waiter seemed a bit inexperienced and our drinks took forever to arrive. We weren’t very bothered by it, but the very attentive hostess noticed us waiting and made sure to get our drinks over, and even comped them to apologize for the long wait. We really appreciated the gesture. The food was excellent and the atmosphere is beautiful, with an amazing view of the lighthouse and beach. Our waiter even did a really incredible magic trick for our children at the end! Truly a lovely restaurant in every way.

Good food, but very pricey. Good service at beginning, but disappeared toward the end. Hotel renovation was very well done, however the restaurant has lost its extraordinary Vineyard feel. Overly dark and clubby for a summer spot, but cozy for a winter getaway. Odd choice given the superb harbor and light house views.

I thought the restaurant had great food and service. The views from the porch are beautiful. My wife and I enjoyed our meal, we both had the Black Ink pasta which was unique and tasty. My starter, however, was not served at the proper temp but the Lobster Bisque was good. The room was chilly.

Sampled 3 appetizers and 3 mains. For apps, chowder was very good, foie gras good but basic and hamachi, again fresh but basic. For mains, striped bass special was way over cooked and paired poorly, squid ink pasta with seafood was good but store bought pasta, duck confit was the best of the entries, quite good. Cocktails and wines by the glass very expensive but wine list reasonable with good selection.

What was not to like? From the moment we arrived and had a drink on the front porch of the Harborview Hotel with incredible views to being seated in a magnificent restaurant where the service food and wines were A+! I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a top notch experience at a surprising affordable price point.

The food was very good and the prices were quite reasonable for brunch at a very pricey restaurant and the view - if you have a window table - is spectacular. However, the service left a lot to be desired. When we checked in with the hostess, she said “ Whose birthday is it?” ( I had checked that on my Open Table reservation). I told her it was my brother’s. Nothing came of that. I also told her I had requested a window table, yet she takes us to a booth where only one person of the group would have had a view. There was a table for four by a window right there. I asked if we could have that and she said ok. Our waitress was very pleasant and took our orders promptly. Another person came by and asked if we wanted coffee ( we had ordered bubbly) and we said not then, so as he proceeded to pick up the cups, we said we might want some later, but he took them anyway. No one came by to refill water until we were about to leave. Someone did finally ask if we wanted coffee and two of us did. So new cups and saucers were brought. But, the most shocking bit of service was that our waitress brought the check while we were still eating, never having asked if we wanted anything else. Really surprising for a high end restaurant.

Great, front of the house enthusiasm, hit or miss from the back. Stale bread, two fish dishes were woefully bland.Decent wine list which will mostly appeal to CA wine drinkers, the Burg list is fairly pedestrian, but some nice things outside of the NW.
PRICEY. Average food,, preferred the former HV restaurant and ambience . This was more NYC!
We hope you will give us another try. Bettini has just launched an exciting new fall menu and is now serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We had a beautiful table with a great view. Service was prompt in getting us started. We orders foie gras, which only came with two pieces of grilled sourdough so we asked for more. It took about 15 min to get two more pieces. After we finished that, we waited an hour to get our entrees. The entrees themselves were enjoyable, but the sides (mushrooms and spinach) lacked flavor and were luke warm at best. We left happy to have had a nice date night, but over all disappointed.
